A year on; FROM: 21 stones, 294lbs, 134kgs. TO: 10 stones 13lbs, 141lbs, 69.4kgs

Thanks for putting in the time to write this detailed breakdown of your journey from fat to thin it's really helpful to read and very inspiring. You look great!

Wow fantastic transformation you really do look like a different person but did anyone ever tell you that you looked like Jonah Hill in your before pictures, hes so hilarious in his movies. but now its like rawrr. erm just saying ;D

i also have to brag about reading every word of it :) but it was SO worth it! i am touched with your insightfulness and also quite mindblown at your progress. G R E A T J O B! whoa! and all the graphs, superb! do you study economics?! :D fantastic in any case.

KUDOS.

I'm glad I helped someone. I kind of think if I help one person, then it's worth it. I don't do economics, but I'm very handy with Excel :)

That's really impressive, you look great!

Awesome job organizing the data too :)

Cheers man.

wow what an inspiring story! I'm really glad I read that. I loved the charts too. I've lost a lot of weight myself but not as much as you! Grats!

Did you post any before and after pictures?

Is your diet a struggle for you at all? How much do you work out?

Not really, I guess it might have been initially. But I don't look on it as a "diet". I've change my lifestyle now, forever. That was the idea, not to do a bit of a diet and then go back to old ways, it was to change it for the better and as such, it's been quite easy.

I try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. So 3 or 4 times a week. Sometimes not as much, but I like to try and go.

I say Ewwwww Ahhhhhh Cantona I say Ewww Ahhhhhh Cantona, well done mate, I like the way you took baby steps at the start instead of going straight to the gym. :seeya:

Slow and steady wins the race.

I just hoped maybe people could relate to certain parts of it.

Er, thanks. I think.

Awesome work. Well done. :)

I guess you are lucky, I read you are only eating soup for lunch and you never crave something more substantial like meat and potatoes? The biggest struggle for me is eating low calorie, I don't have an issue with eating the wrong foods anymore but the amounts of the right foods is a problem for me.

lol. its a good thing. and your welcome.

:D

I don't crave meat and potatoes for lunch, but probably because I have never had meat and potatoes for lunch :D. I have that stuff for dinner (in the evening). Dinner for me isn't especially low calorie (look at my diary and see for yourself). But it's a sensible mix of vegetables and stuff and I try and have a bit of a smaller portion.

I haven't gone completely nuts. I still try to eat normally at dinner.

Woaaah! well done thats flippin brilliant - how long did it take? i read a lot of the post but not it all so dont know how long it took you. You didn't need to read much further than the first 3 words of the thread title :D.

One year is roughly how long it took. I never had a goal on how long it would take. I just set myself mini goals; half a stone (7lbs). I didn't look too far ahead, just to the next half stone loss. But in reality each 1lb makes you feel so happy.

2-3lbs a week is a good weight loss for someone looking to lose alot of weight.

I started with exercise first (it's all in the post, but I'll repeat it for you :)) I started by just going for a few walks each day, THEN I changed my diet. Kept the walking thing up for 3 months or so then finally made the switch to the gym.

Hey man, you're awesome! Thanks for your post. I loved the pros and cons lists :)
You look fantastic, great job. Now THAT'S discipline!!!

F I N A L L Y ! ! ! !

I post that is easy to read, has photo's to inspire even the most down hearted dieter. You look amazing, you sound like a great upbeat guy and you hav your whole life ahead to inspire and touch others who are at the start of their battle!

I hope that you have a long, healthy and skinny life ahead of you and that you continue to use your experience to inspire others. I also really think you should contact Stephen Fry through his twitter and tell him how he played a part in your weight loss too. I bet he would be thrilled to know that you are now inspiring others with your story the way he inspired you with is.

Well done, congratulations and good luck. I hope that nothing in your life will ever be as much of a struggle as the battle you have already won.

WOW.
You look really incredible.
Despite having lost what I feel is a significant amount of weight, sometimes my end goal and beyond still seem a little insurmountable...
it's stories like yours that put the fight right back in me.

Congratulations!!

Depressingly I need to add another bit to the "Pros" list of being fat. Warmer in Autumn/winter.

I'm so freezing on cold days now, I wear a scarf and gloves everywhere. Terrible! Haha.

Thanks, I didn't think of contacting Stephen Fry at all really. I guess I could. Wonder if he'll respond, hmmm.
