A new start for MommyOf2!!

Hi all! Thanks for stopping by!
I weighed in today. Still 164, but I'm not worried. I know I'm building up a lot of muscle since starting back on Wed. with my hard core exercise routine.
As for my sweet Lia, she's doing better. Thanks for asking! She slept all night last night - yay!!! Let's hope the two remaining healthy people in our home stay that way (myself and my 4 year old). Lia is turning 2 on Thursday, so she has to be well to celebrate!!

Here's my food ....
B: the usual
Sn: apple
L: Sushi (too much :( )
D: I don't yet know what I will serve. Depends on when I get out of my doctor's app't and pick up my kids from their respective spots. Ugh! I'm exhausted thinking about it!!!

Hey there! Just stopping in to check on ya! I'm sure your gaining muscle back too since your surgery!! Hope you have a great week!

Hi all!
Dinner was ok. 1/2 a pizza shared w/ hubby. 405 calories in it.
Also a diet root beer. But I'm soooooo hungry! I want my standard bowl of cereal so I can sleep well tonight. Grrrr!!
Thanks for stopping by, everyone. I've missed you ChristinaVA!!!

Y'know you're doing so great!! :) Even resisting that bowl of ce real before bed!! :D Keep up the great work and determination! Glad to hear your little one is feeling better, hope she enjoys her birthday!

just a quick check in with ya MO2 :) Looks like you're doin' great! :D Have you tried more protein and less/ no carbs at night to try to sleep better at night? Just a thought :) I had to start doing that a while back as I wasn't sleeping well at all :) Keep up the good work :D

Hi all!!
Man! It is hard to diet when life gets out of hand busy. But I did ok except that I didn't exercise. I just haven't felt ready to return to my regular Tuesday class because it has such a heavy abs. focus given my hernia recovery. Maybe next week.
Plus my baby has been crazy lately. If I say 'no' to any request, she throws herself down and has such an enormous fit! It's really getting to me. Once she gets into a fit, it takes like 40 min. for it to pass. My husband actually took her in the shower and she stopped and calmed down. I might try it tomorrow!!
Here's my food for today:

B: The usual
L: Ham sandwich; grapes; pretzals (3); cole slaw
Sn: Diet Root beer; quakes - 14
D: Spinach ravioli (8) = 240 cal.; diet root beer
Sn: Bowl of cheerios w/ skim milk

120 oz. water.

What a crazy day!!!!!! I hope that tomorrow is better.

Sorry I didn't make it around to my pals' diaries!!

OK - here's what today looks like:

One hour of hard core Kickboxing - our teacher was in a weird mood. He did some new moves. All of a sudden, everyone was falling forward on their hands and kicking their feet back. It was really tough! He said he went to a seminar and learned new moves. Ugh!

Food ...
B: the usual
L: 1/2 peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat (just couldn't avoid the convenience of it); apple; 9 quakes; diet root beer

I don't yet know what dinner will be. Either baked turkey meatballs w/ angel hair pasta or sloppy joes with turkey meat. It depends on my daughter's ballet class and whether my husband gets home at a decent hour.

I hope all my buddies are doing well!

Hi all!
HH - Yep - we prefer our sloppy joes w/ ground turkey. The other trick is to use whole grain hamburger buns and serve them open face. If you have a lot of control, just serve it on half a bun. Also, leave off the cheese.

Alas... I went with turkey meatballs. My girls were playing so nicely together, I thought I'd take advantage of the rare opportunity to spend some time cooking without the constant interruption. They turned out YUMMY! I bake them to cut back on the fat and grease.

So to add to my previous post, Dinner was turkey meatballs, portobello mushroom tomato sauce, and angel hair pasta.

No cheerios w/ skim milk!!!

OH - and someone asked me to 'reveal' my name. No problem. It's Laurel. I just have never really liked it too much so I love using pseudonyms whenever possible - LOL!

Yummy, that sounds so delicious!! Is there a recipe you could post for those meatballs? I've never bakedt hem before.. in fact..wait, I've never made any and I would LOVE to try! I know my fiance would find them delicious!!

I like my meatballs baked too. Much easier than the constant watching that simmering them in sauce makes or the mess (and one flat side) that frying them in a pan causes.
I guess the days of eating my sloppy joes over french fries covered in cheese is over, eh? (Hey, I wasn't eating the bun!) LOL I really do like those new wheat buns.
What will you do for your two year old's birthday?
Keep up the great job!
Totallyscrappy

New Leaf - I'll post the recipe, although I made it up! It's sort of a cross between meatloaf and fried meatballs - lol!

Totallyscrappy - thanks for asking about the girls' bday! We are having a rather large (everyone RSVP's yes!!!) party for both girls since Jenna's bday was last month. We're just having enchiladas, rice, and beans and birthday cookies rather than cake. And the kids will play and the adults will talk. We do it every year. It works out. We have a great group of friends and our kids all play so nicely together. I hope it all works out! I'll be relieved on Saturday night, let me tell you!

Oh! Here are the meatballs:

Around 1 lb. grd. turkey
1 smallish onion chopped and sauteed with a tiny bit of olive oil
1-2 eggs (beaten)
1 Cup bread crumbs (the contadina kind either flavored or plain)
Salt and pepper

Combine all ingredients with your hands, form into balls, place on a pan sprayed w/ Pam. Bake for 30-40 minutes at 325.

OK what I've been putting off ... my food for today. I blew it!!

Breakfast - the usual
Lunch - 3/4 roast beef sandwish w/ lettuce and dijon mustard & swiss cheese; 9 baked ruffles; protein drink (120 cal.); 3 berries, 2 grapes, 2 sm. pieces of pineapple.
I'm so full!!!! I feel like I'm going to burst.
On the up side, I did a killer work-out. Maybe the most difficult hour of cycle/spin class I've ever done w/ weights and abs. Then I ran up a steep hill with my daughter and her friends.
Dinner will be leftover turkey meatballs, angel hair pasta, & diet root beer.

I'm so bummed about how much I ate at lunch! I was so hungry and it was so good. Nothing was really fatty, but altogether it was a LOT of calories.

Hey sweetie! Just wanted to say hello! I'm gonna have to try those meatballs.. I finally tried turkey burgers the other night and love them! They are alot better then beef!! Anyway I probley wont be here tomorrow so I hope you have a good weekend!

What in the world are you talking about?! Your food choices today weren't bad at all. And I know for a fact that you could have made worse choices than that when you were hungry. You don't want to eat something small and then still be hungry after lunch. That wouldn't be good at all. You did great. Don't worry about it.

On the birthday party, that is what we used to do because we had two both born in February, 10 days apart. So we would do a party on the weekend in between and invite family and friends. Well, now we have a 3rd with a bday in Feb (on the same day as our girl), but now that the first two are older, it doesn't work as well to combine them all. I think we are still going to try it this year though because I just can't seem pulling off anything else. Last year, we just all went to chuck e cheese and they all three had a great time.

HH - Wow! 3 February babies?? How funny! My sister had both of hers in Oct. and did joint parties for awhile. Then when they were school aged they could choose between a small party after school or a trip to Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm with one friend. It has worked for them!

OK - today was undoubtedly one of the craziest days!!! I worked and ended up staying till 8:30 p.m.!!! We had to do some damage control on a report that our evaluator (for a grant that I coordinate) totally screwed up. What a nightmare! The good news ... I did great on food. The bad news ... I didn't do nearly enough to help prep for the party tomorrow and I didn't even get to see my two year old. No exercise, but I never get to exercise on the two days that I work. It's almost 11 p.m. so I don't know that I'll make many of my pals' diaries - sorry! Mea culpa.

B - the usual
Sn - apple
L - Asian Chicken wrap from Schlotsky's - healthy and yummy!!
Sn - smoothie with fat burner boost; one Hershey kiss
D - Leftover turkey meatballs and angel hair pasta; diet root beer; kashi go lean bar.

Tons of water.

I hope I get through this party ok tomorrow!

Hi MO2 :D Just poppin' in real quick :) Hope all goes well with the party (and you take time to enjoy it). Have a great weekend and keep up the wonderful work :D
