A new lease on life - Xenon's Diary :)

Congrats on the weight loss! :D That's really fantastic!!! (lol, it may seem like I'm too excited about .6lbs, but when you've been plateau-ing for months like I have, it seems like a lot of progress)

Your pita pizza sounds like something I'll have to try, it sounds really healthy. :) I make these concoctions called "Pizza-dillas", they're basically all the ingredients of pizza inside a tortilla (pasta sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni), cooked like a casadilla... pretty nummy and close to half the calories of regular pizza.

...and now I've made myself hungry. :drool5::rotflmao:

Hey Xe

That decision is a tought one.....would the summer schedual ( I got to learn how to spell) be the same as right now or would it give you more time off?

My thinking is if you rest this summer and make your health a priority mabe the studying would go better cause you are feeling better, and you would have better grades and all.

Also there is the fact that is you take time out when you go back to school after your time off it could be harder to study cause you have to get used to school all over again and re shape your schedual to fit your new life style as well as your studies.

I guess it all depends on you, how tired you feel right now and how fast you can get back into it in the fall! How are you feeling about graduating at a later date?? Would that make a big inpact financially? Sorry for the long post. With my life situation right now I beleive I would take the summer off. with the 2 kids and the potty training comming and the hubby shifts work that is what I would do.....but what works for me, may not work for you! I hope this helped ......again sorry for going on and on!

hi Xe.

sorry for the absence for the last bit. and thanks for continuing to post on my page :D really helps.

that decision... tough one. something that you should probably think about in depth. Health is important... one of the most important things. so whatever you think will benefit you the most in the long-term, and short-term (if possible to appease both). i hope you can make a decision that you are comfortable with. congrats on the weight loss. glad to see its going well for you. :)

Thanks so much redpiggy, justina, morecowbell (your pizza-dilla sounds so good!), and Katie. Sorry I've been away but school has been kicking my butt this week and every time I log on to reply the little one starts screaming lol go figure! I'll try to answer everything in one response due to time...next week should be better for me.

Well going to school in the summer is something I will have to pay for out of pocket. But something happened after that last post which has really helped me to make up my mind lol. I discovered that the school I'll be transferring to after I graduate is finally carrying courses in astrophysics:willy_nilly::hurray: this is such good news because instead of having to get 2 degrees, I'll be able to get one with a specialization which means I will be able to graduate after this fall if I take 2-3 classes in the summer!!!:D so it worked out well. Thanks so much for your responses, they were really helping me with my confusion and then this news cleared up everything lol. I now feel less burned out and I am changing back to weighing in monthly...it really helps me to keep focused. For some reason, when I weigh in with a loss I feel as if I can eat whatever I want for a day, which leads to more than a day and then I just get totally off track.

Sorry I could not respond individually and sorry if this is jumbled lol but I will try to catch up with everyone come Tuesday *hugs*

Hey lovely! Awesome news about the courses in astrophysics!
I m happy for you that thigns worked out so perfectly well...As they say life is the greatest director!!!
So now you can relax and organize yourself the way you want to!!
Big hug :grouphug:

I totally relate to what you're saying about weighing in... I have the opposite problem of weighing in with gains and getting discouraged, and then eating too much, lol! :ack2:
I think it's a lot healthier for most people who are trying to change their lifestyle that we not focus too much on one aspect, otherwise we might forget what the main goal is; A sustainable lifestyle! :)
I feel much happier with my eating habits and menu when I don't focus on weight loss, and instead focus on making sure I eat yummy, healthy, nutritious foods. Seeing my weight loss journey as a whole life change is helping me to not sweat the weight so much... when I get in balance (in terms of eating AND exercise, my weak area), so will my weight. :)

So glad you get to have your cake in terms of your schooling, too!!! :beerchug:

Cake sounds so good right now :p You are right about the lifestyle being sustainable--that is one problem I have with the diet I'm on, it's definitely not something I would want to do my entire life lol

Well guys I'm off (as in logging off) again -_- I slept for a total of two hours and did more this morning than I've done this entire week--and I have the stress to show for it!

Take care everyone, have a great weekend!

Hey Xenon!!!

I haven't dropped by in quite a long time!!

Things seem to be going good- and wow!! Your schooling seems intense!! I've done summer courses before, and I have kind of liked them! They go quicker, it's nice! I'm glad to hear you've figured that all out!!

You seem to be doing so well! You have such a wonderful positive attitude :)

Keep it up!! (And it's great to hear you have a lovely park close by!! I can't wait for summer!!!)

2 hour sleep!! oh wow!! you are such a champion! the other night when i had my flight at stupid o clock (i had to b at airport at 3 am) i slept 3 hrs - and i m still recovering!!!
:grouphug:

i know exactly what you mean!!! i am glad i am not the only one... makes it less likely that i'm crazy lol i always tend to slack more after a weight loss. lol its like a license to eat poorly for a bit. the thought "ohhh, i've lost a couple pounds, i can afford a donut" runs through my head. seems backwards, but i am glad that i am not alone..... but not glad that you have that problem. haha

glad you got your school stuff figured out :)

GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

Where are you!!?

I came on looking for an Xenon update, and there was nothing :)

I hope life is treating you well, and all is ok!!

*hugs*

Happy school almost ending (for now ;) )

Hey Xe

I am very happy about the good news with school!!! Once you settle into a routine it will be easier....I was wondering do you attend classes as a school or do you do them online?? When my hubby was a student he had free access to this really awsome gym and that helped him keep his stress level down! I know time is not on your side with a little one! When I have a good weight in I figure ok I lost 2 lb let's aim for the junk food now...I can hear the other voice saying go for the veggies you can loose again next week....but the junk wins this battle way to often!

I've done them online so far, but all of my classes for next semester are on campus. I think the semester after that I will have two online classes left and then that will be the end of the classes I can take online for the rest of my college life! I understand though, labs are sort of difficult without the professor at times. I'm the same when I realise i lose weight I schedule a pig out day which turn in to two , then a week , then a month lol My biggest trouble now is marital problems and I get so down I turn to food, which is just an endless downward spiral. I need to just shake myself out of the way I'm feeling. Some days I'm strong and some days...well...I just go through it with tears and my brain twisted lol. I can't live like this and I don't think it can be fixed. I never noticed the little things before, but now it is really amplified and is just getting worse and worse. Sorry for unloading that here but it's really an awful thing to deal with! *hugs Veronique* I think I might be able to squeeze in gym with school...great idea!

Hey Xe

I am very sorry to hear that you are having marital problems those are never good....hubby and I hit a bad patch about 6 months into our marriage right after we had our daughter...I tought that was it...we worked through it but it was very hard healing from a c section and taking care of a new baby I turned to food big time...thank god I was breast feeding at the time.....I am hopping you two can work things out....but I know that it's not always possible.....never apologies for unloading on here it is your diary where else can you freely unload if not here.....mabee letting it out can keep us away from the fridge!

Hey just got caught up on your diary and I'm sorry to hear you are going through a difficult time. I know it's hard to think about weight loss and eating right when you are stressed with other things but from experience exercise is the best way to make you feel better. Sometimes it lets you clear your mind and get some good thinking in too. Take the baby for a walk and think things through.
You need support in all areas of your life and your husband signed up to do that the day you got married - he needs to be there for the baby, for you getting to your goals, to support you with school and to just be there when you need a friend.
My sister in law moved in with us recently because she was having problems in her marriage and they've decided to get some counciling - whatever helps I say and it's always good to get an outside opinion on the situation.
I hope things get better for you because you deserve to be really happy. Reading your diary I can tell you are a very positive, caring mom and you don't want anyone to ever take that away.
Oh and vent away - that's what this place is for! Wish I could give you a hug :grouphug:

Thanks so much Veronique and Chubbygirl *hugs* When I read your posts I was really in tears. After I made the last post I got super angry and was being a total @#$%@#$ like never before. He was really surprised and asked me why I'm being like this. I told him why and he has been trying to be better, I just hope it will last. He never really listened to me about all of these things before so I guess it is a good indication. I have to go but I will try to come back to write more another time
