A new lease on life - Xenon's Diary :)

Hey guys I just wanted to report some positive things. I passed the Chemistry placement exam with high marks. I was a bit surprised because I did not complete the test entirely...like 6 questions because time ran out, and the administrator said that my score was one of the highest he has ever seen. So I went to see an advisor today and I will be graduating this year :D

Managing to regain control of the diet. I realise my life is filled with tons of stress daily and i really have to push past it to succeed with my health.

Hope everyone is doing great. :)

Great News Xe!

I think the biggest part of this losing weight thing is continuing to do so when life is stressful, but life is always throwing curve balls our way....in my case on a friday hubby and I are celebrating the fact that the car is fully paid we can finnally now move forward on paying credit cards on the monday I lost my job....if we can do the weight loss thing successfully when stressed imagine what we can do when life is at it's best!!!!

congratulations on passing the exam!! celebrate!

i am sorry to hear that things are rough right now. i hope it all works out. *hug

That's awesome news :D Well done, you xx
Thanks pretty one!! :D Although I do wonder why the advisors feel overwhelmed when I tell them my major...they do offer classes for it so why is it so surprising lol

You are so right Veronique. I have had stressful days for like a month straight, and it starts as soon as I wake up. Hubby is still being good since I got crazy on him...I don't like to be like that but I can only take so much. And I tried to talk about it properly before I started being mean. But yes Veronique you are totally right, if we could master our lives when it is stressful then we will be sure to be successful :) Congrats on paying off the car! You must feel so entirely good!

Welcome to the forum AussieSwede :) Thanks for the kind words :D Did you start a diary yet?

Well guys weigh in day is two days away:nopity:

Went up by 1.4 lbs, which is not bad considering how I have been....however I am determined to make this the last gain...down the scale from now on!

sorry to hear that you went up a bit. you have been doing well, and considering that its easter and you have been doing exams. really not bad. :) glad to see that you are motivated. i'll check back in a bit. lol

Thanks so much Hana and Katie :) I'm determined to see a much lower number next month, and I'm also determined to change my lifestyle completely...which is what I've been working on. I walked for over three hours yesterday! Two times for thirty minutes and once for two hours. The last one for two hours was optional...my car is in the shop and I needed something at the store. My husband said he would walk for me, but I really wanted to get some exercise in.

There's a before and after video I wanted to share with everyone because it has been really motivational for me :)

I like this one because the people not only look totally different because of the weight loss, they also really look totally transformed! Some are really shocking lol the one at 3:06-3:14 had me like  lol

Xenon!!!!! So happy to have read your positive news!!! woohooo! well done on the exam! Well done on the walking!
Good luck on changing your life style!! i know you can do it!! big hug :grouphug:

ps - i tried to watch the youtube video - was not allowed - banned in my country - but i trust you its a good one! hehehe :D

Thanks Justina :) I have to get the images from the video and show it to you. That one was just unbelievable lol

Heyyy there! Stoping by to say hi and now I know your journal ill be visiting ;) I see your a student as well. I must say that is AWESOME that you scored high on your exam especially in chemistry! You go girl!!

Yeah I just saw that you are a student too lol. Thanks :D The chemistry exam was for placement. This school requires it to not be placed in an introduction to chemistry class

Ohh I seee; either way thats still excellent! So this is your first year of college. And, oh yes I just seen your post in my journal. Im in my Sophomore year at my university and studying psychology. Thats my major as of now but I'm thinking of majoring in sociology in stead and minor in business. how bout you???

AAAAAAAH Trusylver!!!! I wanted to ask you something but I did not want to invade your diary :D I have been working on getting up to 8 mins of abdominal exercise. I know that pregnancy has separated my abs and I want to get them back together. The problem is I experience severe cramping like charlie horses whenever I work them out. Mind you it's been almost two years since I gave birth and this is my first time working on them. Is there anything you can recommend...like what should I do for the pain? Thanks!

If there is pain then stop immediately, you should really see a physiotherapist (physical therapist) for special exercises if it has been confirmed that you have separation and they will be able to tell you if surgery may be needed. if you do start working on your abs then start very gently. If you do any crunching type movements brace and support your abs with your hands.

you also need to concentrate on working the transverse abdominis Abdominal Vacuum

Transverse Abdominis this is the muscle which holds everything in, the Tranverse Abdominis hold the abdomen flat.
