A new chapter begins

Aw your nieces came to visit! I bet that's a great time! Blah for TOM, he's been on his way to my house too. I usually get cravings and cramping about 4 days before he makes it to my doorstep, so I've been fighting hard. I don't get the cramping anymore though, since I had my baby, but the cravings are through the roof!! Hang in there, you always do so well. By the way, I finally got my Nalgene bottle!

Funny you should say that about the bottles as I started doing that yesterday. I had a 1 1/2 litre bottle with me at all times and drunk so much more than usual.

If I didn't have the 1liter bottle with me, I would be lost. However, as you get into drinking more water, you'll actually have a pretty good idea how much you have drunk all day. Happy aqua drinking!! :)

You're always good hun!

Hope you smash that 60 soon!

Good luck!

Thanks Flumie. Haven't been able to run in this humidity...lets see what the scale says tomorrow.

You can do it Juni!!!! 80% of the game is in what you eat you can do it!!!

I hope you are right, Veronique. I have had too much alcohol this week. One or two glasses of wine everday except today. Yikes.

It's so much easier when you are making your meals and have the time to put some thought into them! I'm sure you will do great the next two days! Don't worry to much about weigh in this week with TOM - it won't be accurate and will probably just make you discouraged - you have to anticipate to stay the same or gain so you won't be let down. Next week will be much better and more accurate. Hope it cools down some for you so you can get out for a run! Take care!

TOM really sucks. I am soo not looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow. We'll see what the scales say...

I usually get horrible cramps, but this time I didn't get it. It was strange. For some reason I don't feel very bloated either. Haven't craved much sugar this time either. Hmm....

EXHAUSTED. Work was a bitch again. I have been working from home as much as possible (thanks to the flexibility of my job), so been spending a lot of time with my nieces. We have been going for walks, then we went for ice-cream today. It was too hot to stay outside, so we bought ice cream cones and tubs of ice-cream and came home and had them. It was fun. In the evening I took them for a longish walk, and then they played with my colleague's kids (bless her!). They loved hanging out with other kids. Must find them other children to play with.

Food was alright, excpet two small cones of ice-cream (they were one scoop eatch, but still WTF?)

B: three chappatis, homemade jam, pb, a cup of tea
S: cooked spinach
L: two small scoops of ice-cream with two separate cones
S: rice puff cakes, glass of pineapple juice
D: cooked cauliflower, pak choi, two chappatis and some homemade jam

I'm passing out coz I'm so tired. Will visit everyone's journals tomorrow and see what you guys have been upto.

One more day till the weekend. Phew!

Hey Juni - how'd the weigh-in go this morning? Sounds like you are having a good week. Next week will be a great week with less alcohol, lol :) Enjoy the weekend and take care.

I bombed it. I am up 1kg- but not gonna change my ticket as yet as TOM and other things going on. Still feel Ugh. Need to seriously cut the alcohol out. I don't anticipate much outings next week. Fingers crossed.

That said, today was a good day food wise. I am really low on calories today. Feel really blah though. Really hate TOM.

FRI

B: 1 hard boiled egg
S: 2 plums
L: 1/2 cup basmati rice, mustard pickle and cooked cauliflower
S: 1.5 cheese croissant, 1 chocolate cookie, rice cakes and some potatoes
D: 1 chappati, 1/3 cup cooked cauliflower, 1 teaspoon homemade marmalade

Running around after the kids and then a looong evening walk, some shopping.

TOM sucks big time. It derails me every single month. I think I am not going to weigh myself from the 16th - 24th this month so not to feel rubbish.

Sounds like you are doing pretty well on the food front, despite the visitors - well done!

I don't have that problem now :)

Don't sweat the 1 kg Juni. You'll be braggin about your next big loss in no time!

Well done on the foods too!

Take care and have a great weekend!

Baaah TOM. I think it is a wise decision not to go near the scales during those days. Puts one in a rubbish mood.

I don't have that problem now :)

So lucky. I wish I was like that.

Lets hope you are right. Hope the weekend is going well for u.

The weekend was amazingly relaxing. I haven't had such a relaxed weekend in a loong time. Went to work for a few hours today afternoon, and the kiddos were happy to run around and play in the office. A section of it is cubicles and they were playing hide-and-seek there. The office was practically empty, so no one complained. (phew!). On saturday, I cooked for the kids, we lazed around, watched movies, played scrabble, read, did crossword puzzle. It rained all day on Saturday, so we snuggled a lot. Love this time I get to spend with them. We did some walking today, which was exactly what the kids needed after being cooped up inside the house on Saturday. Here's how food went:

SAT

B: Mung beans pattie (small) and marmalade
L: 1/2 cup chicken currey, bulgar, cooked spinach
S: 2 plum, some steamed corn, 1 mango
D: 1 chappati and some cauliflower

SUN
B: 2 toasts with PB and marmalade
L: 1/2 cup plain yogurt, cooked cauliflower, bulgar
S: handful of nachos, 1 mango, 1/2 plum
D: 2 chappatis, marmalade and cooked cauliflower
Dessert: 1 chocolate cookies.

I did well foodwise, got some walk in today...

A very good friend at work has his birthday tomorrow. He loves upside down pineapple cake. I am going to make one for him and take it to work with me tomorrow. I just got the ingredients ready before I logged on to write and check journals. Looks like everyone's doing well- will drop by and say hi in a bit. Kids are in bed, so this is the best time to bake.

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!

Great weekend Juni! Sounds like you had a blast and really healthy too! How's the week going so far? Getting any runs in with the kiddos around? I'm sure they are keeping you busy enough that you are still burning calories left and right! Hope things are good.

OMG upside pineapple cake is my FAVOURITE. Sounds like you had a great weekend - how's this week goign?

Hi Everyone, sorry I have been MIA for the last few days. Work is just ridiculously busy and whatever extra time I get, I have been spending with my nieces. I have to work through the weekend. My sister should be here on Friday and they are planning to take a trip away from the city to a much cooler place, so the kiddos will be taken care of. I have been coming home early, but then we have been doing fun stuff with the kids, and by the time I get home, read for the kids, get them ready for bed and tuck them in, I am exhausted. I have hardly come online for the last few days. I am now sneaking in some time at the office (got in early- love the quiet calm before everything starts at the office around 9.30ish). I want to read your updates also. Have missed being here.

So here's how food went down this week.

MONDAY:

B: 1 slice bread with marmalade
L: bulgar, cooked string beans, plain yogurt
S: ice-cream
D: 2 indian deep fried puri (deep fried dough) with spiced yogurt
I may have gone a little bit over my calories on that day (haven't logged in dinner)

TUES

B: Skipped. Didn't have time to eat- kids had cereals too. Took the kids to work with me....they loved it.
L: boiled bulgar, cauliflower made with sesame,
S: sugar free crackers (i had too many- realised that if i don't have breakfast, I tend to eat more during the day- good lesson to learn)
D: japanese cold noodles (had smoked chicken, egg, veggies and was made with mustard mayonnaise- but not too much, so it was perfect)- don't know how many calories they were though
S: more crackers with jam

WED

B: 1 toast with jam
L: 1/2 cup rice with chicken
S: NON
D: kids were already asleep when i got home, too tired to make anything so i had some leftover cauliflower, 2 eggs and 2 pieces of brown bread

Food has been all over the place this week. But other than that 1 ice-cream i haven't really had time for indulgence. Hopefully it'll show in the weigh-in this week. I will be working through the weekend, so I have to plan to take some food with me because the kind of food office orders is not particularly healthy.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Now off to read journals and check how you guys are doing.

Yes, the weekend was fun. I have to work this weekend though (boooo!) so hopefully I will be able to make good choices. Kiddos are keeping me busy, but I haven't really had the time to go running or anything like that. I am also packing and selling off/ giving away stuff so that takes a lot of time also. It is amazing how much I have accumulated in these last five years.

I love the cake too, and it turned out really really well. I have another colleague whose birthday is two weeks away, and I know he likes cheesecake. I wished I had taken pics to post. I will take of cheesecake. I make cheesecake not with cream cheese but yogurt- so it is healthier. :)

Hope you are both having a wonderful week.

Would you mind sharing the recipe. Cheesecake is my daughters absolute favourite cake and I would love to have a healthier alternative. :)

ETA - I've just found this recipe for a yogurt cheese cake. Is this similar to what you make?

I need to try a healthier version of cheese cake I love cheese cake wich I could live off of it!!!

When I am working I am not that great at working out, but I think anytime you can include movement it helps as long as you keep the food healthy!!!
You are so busy lately I think once you have everything settled and your move is done you will be able to have more time! At least all of your good habits are there so ou are not starting from scratch!!!!

Hi Val, I bake the yogurt. I am posting the recipe below. I use everything but the chocolate wafer crumbs and cream cheese. I use no cream cheese whatsoever, instead I hang yogurt overnight in muslin cloth (until ALL the water is gone) and then bake with that the next morning. It takes a LONG time to bake, so have to be patient. Here's the link:

Try the yogurt cheesecake - posted recipe above with modifications. I looooove cheesecake too.

:hurray::hurray::hurray: Alright Juni!!!!!:hurray::hurray::hurray:

Well done! Muchily deserved!

Thanks Flumie.

Wow 62 kg is awesome Juni! So jealous! I'm going to use it to motivate me this weekend!! Have a good one!

Yay!! We can do this, Lisa.

Well done. 62/63 is my dream weight. :D

And mine is 57/55 (thats how much I used to weigh a few years back, and will be really happy with it). You are doing so well with exercise and food, Val. You'll get to 62kgs in no time.

W000000H00000!!! Well done Juni!!!! 62kg ROCKS!

Thanks Jjjay. :)

------------

So I couldn''t do much journaling last night. After a killer day of work (non stop, no time to rest), I was just sooooooo glad the week had ended. With the kids, work wrapping up, BF problems, I was ready for the horrible week from hell to be over. Then a friend of mine was throwing a party. I went there thinking I would only stay there a few hours and ended up staying till 3am. Thank god the kids were taken care of. But I felt like I needed some time to unwind with good friends.

I was supposed to be at work only for a couple of hours in the morning, but it extended to another few hours. By the time I got home it was already 8.30pm and that was only because I decided to come home with work. I hadn't spent much time with the kids. Now here I am, procrastinating and reading journals and updating (I looooove procrastinating, btw). Looks like I am gonna have to be at work again tomorrow. The deadline for this project is tomorrow afternoon. By this time tomorrow, I will be done. Then I am taking Monday and Tuesday off.

Here's what food looked like today and yesterday:

FRI:

B: NON
L (early): boiled bulgar, sauteed tofu
S: cookies (yikes)
D: 1/3 cup rice, paneer, chicken, kidney beans
Alcohol: 3 glasses of wine (no alcohol this coming week)

SAT:

B: Toast with PB and jam
S: animal crackers
L: 1 cup of rice, with mutton, spinach, paneer and okra
D: 2 mangoes

The lunch was huuuge. I am too tired to make dinner for myself (the kiddos have eaten and are finally off to bed). Now I work for a little bit and then I will also call it early night. I couldn't sleep. There were a lot of munchies (chips, popcorn, fried stuff) that I didnt eat at the party last night. Also skipped on dessert. So very proud of myself.... but....I think I made up with all the empty calories in alcohol. No more wine till the end of this week for me.
