I am so with you on the whole running in heat thing... I managed as far as I did today only because it rained and cooled down a bit! It's in the 80s/90s here...
What is OHR? I'm not familiar with the term. 10K is maybe my favorite distance! I don't have any specific races in mind at the moment, and I definitely don't know of any in New York (I'm in the midwest).
Oh, and I am also with you on not wanting to be so focused on the weight numbers and such. That's why I put my ticker in kilograms, actually! I programmed my scale into kgs as well. It makes it easier for me because I can't compare and think, "Oh, last time I dieted I lost 7 pounds in a week, why didn't I do the same this time?" or whatever, as long as I don't do the conversions in my head.
I'm not quite as familiar with metrics as I am pounds, so the number affects me less, for some reason.
