A new beginning...

My problem seems to be telling when I am hungry and when I am not, since I am so used to eating all the time anyway.
Sorry to hog your diary Dana but I just thought of something... HH, if you haven't already, you should set yourself a schedule for eating. For example, I have my first meal at nine in the morning and I eat every 2.5 hours from that point on. This will help your metabolism as well as your habit of snacking. JMO :)

Hey Paula! I've been trying to eat something (even a small snack like a banana) about every three hours, but it doesn't always work like that because of school. I have spring break next week, so I will be really good about doing it then, and I will report back how it goes for the week. Then I will try harder to continue it when I go back to school if it seems to be working for me. Thanks Paula! :D

Dana, I hope you have a good time this weekend at your shower! :D

you could always try my diet....KIDS in the house! Nothing is more frustrating than going into the kitchen thinking something will be there, and *poof* its all gone...first come first serve round these parts! Yesterday, I went to look for something I really wanted, and the little munchy ghost apparently came by when I wasnt looking...

happens all the time around here. I have had to hide things around here more than once to make sure I get what I need. That, and since we are STILL in a slump business wise, beans and rice are about to become real popular here:(

why in the hell is nutritional eating so damned expensive anyway? I wanted some grapes soo bad today...

ANYways, your post up top is something I know I sure have had to deal with! I wish I could REALLY learn to eat to live and not live to eat!

Good girl HH. I know it can be extremely difficult with school, work, family, etc.

Hey Dana! Good morning girl (or afternoon in your world)! How are you today? I see you posted your admission statement today... good for you! I'm starting the book as soon as I'm done with everyone's diaries... I want to at least get caught up to you so we can start talking about it and help each other out... What chapter are you on?

Wow. Good for your for being so honest with yourself. And I can relate to everything you said. There are those who eat to live, and those who live to eat. I've had to change my approach. My entire family *lives to eat* -- and I still absolutely love food. But we've just gotta learn to take it in moderation.

You're doing a great job NewLeaf, and thanks for continuing to help me stay motivated. :D

Dana, you know we are behind you 150% and we know you can conquer all goals (think presents ;) ).

Hey now there is a method.. maybe anytime I want to eat something I probably shouldn't have..I'll think presents.. ;)

Thank you guys!! I am so relieved none of you think I'm crazy..well none of you but Bailey!!! :p Then again she's not so sane herself. hahaha!

So I got a McD's salad for lunch to day, bacon ranch with grilled chicken and ranch dressing. I don't use much dressing, I close up the container and shake it all around to get some good coverage. and yum. I NEVER crave salads.. This is so bizarre, btu I had a huge hankering for one. Wonder what that means.. probably I'm lackin something. :) Anyhow.. its not even that great, they jipped me on my chicken I swear..and bacon bits. HMPH :) But it still tastes like heaven.. lol.. I swear its weird!! ;)

By this time in your world, NL you are on a plane goin' 'way :D Hope you enjoyed the shower and just plain enjoyed the weekend :D YOU WILL BEAT THE FOOD! YOU WILL BEAT YOUR BINGES! YOU ARE WORTH THE BATTLE! and WE WILL BE HERE TO SUPPORT YOU :D That said, fill us in when you return :D

i always figure if you are getting cravings, LISTEN to your body, and give in to them as long as they are healthy. The number one problem I think a lot of us have is NOT having listened to what we need, because of all the eating whatever...and now that we are feeding the body good stuff, its easier to feed it what it really needs! does any of that make sense? As a younger woman being pregnant, I would crave tomatoes all the time. fresh garden ones...Id LOVE to be that in tune with my body like that again!:D

Hey NewLeaf! You don't sound crazy at all. You sound just like me, I say that stuff to myself all the time. I even thought about recording a message to myself and carrying my mini tape recorder around to play it back when I start feeling the urge to hit a drive through or some other fried snack from the store. You know, I think I'm going to try it afterall. I just have to make sure I don't lose the tape, I'd be so humiliated if someone found it. LOL

Have a great day!

Hey! Just stopping by to check in on ya. Hope you are having a great weekend! We will, of course, be waiting for details. ;) :D
