that is not only good, it is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont worry about those (fake) pounds as we'll be reading in no time that you dropped 'em all. also, good job on keeping the exercise low-impact. it will be bettter for you in the long run, i would imagine...

You're doing great... your measurements are going down and that's what going to show the difference. I just took my measurements and even though my scale is dropping, my measurements haven't changed much.... :( I'm a belly gainer though so I know it will be the last to go... :rolleyes:

That scale needs a good ol' fashioned spanking, I think ;)

For my wedding invitations, my mom went and bought me a stationary design program or something, even though we aren't even starting this stuff for at least 4-6 more months! I'm pretty sure she's more excited than I am :p In any case, I'm a little bit jealous still, because I love designing things and playing around with colors, placement, etc... I hope you have at least a little fun with it, for me!
 
ya know dana, i say we drop kick the stupid scales into a dumpster somewhere, light em on fire, and laugh sadistically at the popping sounds of their death throes...

Paula, thanks for all your support girl. I wouldn't get through this crap with out you. ;) I appreciate the tips today, and FYI I bought the protein powder!!! I'm going to pack it in my lunch bag tomorrow, even got myself a teeny shaker :D

Beagle, oh trust me I have fun with this stuff. I was designing our own invites, but it just got too complicated with MY input (as I run a hand made card business) and my FH's that well, we ARE designing them, but sending them out to be printed etc I think. The programs, being much more simple, I will enjoy a lot more. I pretty much have them all designed, except the final tweaks. You know how that is..! ;)

Kate, hahaa, I think you have the exact idea girl!! :) Ever seen Office Space movie? :) That reminds me of the scene in which they destroy the fax machine that pains them so and never works properly!! They take it to a middle of a field some where and trash the crap out of it! I love it!! :D

Thanks you guys. Really you are making me feel a lot better. I swear I will NOT give up! I will not throw the towel in.. but could somebody remind me I should NOT be eating popcorn if I'm retaining water..baah ;) hey its all I had here and I was STARVIN! :)

Hey Girl! Thanks for the info on the shoe thing. I was going to go buy a new pair thinking mine were messed up because my big toes always fall asleep on the elliptical. I will try the backward approach when that happens.

I notice it's the most popular machine. girls are always taking advantage of the 30 min time limit.

Just wanted to say stay strong and stick with it. The 28th is coming up quick! Go girl, you can doooo it!

Oh yes let me know how that backwards thing works for your feet!:D I do love the elliptical, luckily our gym got four new ones in! So I can put a solid 60 minutes in, being one of the 10 people in the gym at 5:30 :D

As for the 28th..eeek.. I better fit in more cardio I got 12 hrs to squeeze in there.. oops! :D

Ok. so my co-worker brings her dog Monkey (a mixed doggy of sorts) very well behaved, well mannered dog, to work each day. Monkey has been a bit wound up today. She tends to jump up and want to kind of rough-house or wrestle. e Well I was putting her down off my lap so I could finish up some work before the day is out. Next thing I know she's popping up again on the arm of my computer chair and I turn and she wallops me right in the nose hard with her paw! :eek: And that hurt. :rolleyes: Hehe, alas! I thought some people would find this funny.. Punched in the nose by a dog.. err Pawed in the nose. :eek: hehe

I've got 3 dogs at home, so they're always causing some kind of chaos around the house. :p

Guess what, I get to join the wedding bandwagon! My son and his bride to be are getting married on the 15th of July! I get to kick back and do nothing that day! YAY!!:D It is really weird to have my own child become a husband! Wierd! I mean, this man gave ME away at my second wedding! (long story) Im really excited about it! My future D-in law is one of those planners and organizers. THANK GOODNESS! I am NOT like that at ALL. I just tell her, whatever you like, dear. Whatever you want dear. I am her opposite. But we get along well. She's good for my son.

Here's to you and me getting that scale movin, and bustin butt.
 
Hehe, yeah she's a rowdy dog. Gotta love em though! :) It was pretty funny. Just so unexpected at the time! ;)

Congrats Kate!! :) I am sure she appreciates you as a future-mother-in-law (FMIL) ! Mine can be a weee bit too suggestive! ;)

Protein Powder Update:
Ok so I had my first try at the protein powder! It was OK. Its a good thing its only 4 ounces! :) Its not horrible, but I can taste the whey in it and I personally have never been too fond of that. :) But I have a feeling a lto of other people would like it! :)

Its like malt. I hate malted anything malted milk shakes malted milk balls..blech yuk phooey...

Personally my favorite drink with protein was always the EAS stuff from body for life made for women. its only a hundred cals and already made if you like it that way..i like my partially frozen with a straw..mm good!
 
Oh my! That is funny! Hit in the nose by a dog! I don't think I have ever heard that one before. Hope your nose isn't hurt too bad.

I need to get some protein powder.... I used to use it all the time but haven't gotten around to getting anymore. I usually mix it with a fat free yogurt and either a banana or orange juice - I don't taste the nastiness that way :rolleyes:

hey NL, checking in this morning. how are ya? my goodness, we have 3 dogs at home and i 've been popped in the head by 'em and that doesnt feel so hot! and then they are so cute & it is from pure excitement, you can only laugh at them...at least me..

so, into the protein powder, hmm? and artichoke? how are you cooking the artichoke at work? or bringing it ready to snack on. i do love artichokes but they havent looked so hot in the grocery store lately. are you gonna try "paula's famous diet"? lookin' that way!! we can chat about it ;).

Dinner:some roasted chicken, half cup of carrots & broccolli, one corn muffin, steak potato (calories??)
Dessert:1/2 cup of ice cream, 1 lindt chocolate ball (73 calories)

Today's Notes:
Good morning everyone! I want to apologize up front for this post. All of you are really great and supportive and I am VERY appreciative of that. So please don't think me ungrateful, but I am just feeling beaten down today. The scale is sitting at 155.5lbs this morning. I will admit I have been poor about drinking water at night, and have had a glass or two here and there of diet soda. Also, my Aunt Flo is DEFINITELY here now. I thought when that started my weight would drop back down 2lbs, as I thought once the flow started you stopped retaining the PRE-menstrual water etc. I honestly do not know. My body in that aspect is very out of wack. Anyhow.. I did get my work out in. I am trying to keep my protein up higher now and do Paula's diet. ALthough I didn't bring the artichoke to work, haven't cooked it yet! (Skyler I do intend on boiling it.. just fyi, thats what she recommended and I've never ate one before!) So anyhow.. that's my morning pity party.. sorry for being a downer today. I will check back later on more diaries when my mood is a bit better. Thanks again you guys, you really are a great support team.. and I appreciate just even being able to vent.

ANYTIME on the venting. That is one of the reasons we are here!! keep your chin up. That scale will budge. You know the right things to do (another case of listening to your own advice - see Kate (he he) ) - but your body is probably readjusting. it happens to all of us, it sounds like. Also, that fairy dust is on it's way so that hsould help. Mix it with LOTS of water and smile some (i heard that can burn some calories) and you'll be on the way to losing fast again in no time. Hang in there...You are doing fabulous. You have lost TEN POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!! I read somewhere that every 10 lbs or so (depending on starting and ending points), you hit some kind of plateau or break in loss as your body re-adjusts, just dont give up, and you'll get your results.

We are all behind you!! You can do this!!
