A goal without a plan is just a wish...

I'm feeling my work outs this week too! I like the feeling but I'm looking forward to it getting easier again. I'm loving running on the treadmill lately too! Trying to get at least a mile run in everyday. What do you have planned for the weekend? I guess I won't find out till Monday :) Hope it's healthy and enjoyable!! take care and keep it up!
 
Friday - Work was very tiring. Extremely hot out and such a long day. We played kickball (I scored 2 runs!) and had a scavenger hunt so I was moving around a lot! No workout after. Ate fine until I decided to get dinner with my parents at the bar. Also went to the movies with my friends and had candy.

Saturday - Worked all day, then headed up to my old university to visit some friends. We drank lots of beer and at the end of the night ate lots of pizza. Didn't feel so good after that!

Sunday - Got home and layed around for a bit. Decided that I really need to start working out hardcore again. Got on the treadmill for 40 minutes and did intervals the whole time. I could have kept going but I had a graduation party to go to. I did some kettle bell moves and worked my arms with dumbbells as well, wrapped it up with abs. Felts GREAT! Ate healthy but got into the desserts too!

And now we're at Monday. It took me 18 minutes to get out of bed, and now I'm here. Gonna get on the treadmill and workout before work so that there is no deciding whether or not to do it later! I'm going to try really hard this week to get into the routine of morning workouts!
 
Yeah... note to self: NEVER TAKE CHILDREN MINI GOLFING!!! It was absolutely horrible and really frustrating.

I took a few 3 year olds once and it was not a good idea at all. :)

Nice to see you're still rocking it and having as fun of a summer as I am. Hope you had fun at Summerfest! I had a blast.
 
So did you make it up this morning? Damn I want to work out in the morning too but I'm just so lazy some mornings!

I woke up and I was ready to go but I decided I wanted to go to the gym after work instead since I haven't used it in a while and my mom is paying for it. But I've had a really rough day so I'm still home... I'm definitely working out my frustration tonight on the treadmill though.

Good to hear from you! I wish I could say I WAS rocking it but not quite as much as I used to. Hanging in there, though. Summerfest was a blast! Did you see any bands?

Such a terrible day, fought with my mom this morning, up 4 pounds on the scale, so many things on my mind, bad day at work, got some bad news that my childhood friend that I grew up with is in the hospital bleeding from the brain (she's 22 years old). It's just been like one thing after another today.

Yesterday I was really upset to find out that the shorts I bought before spring break were pretty tight on me when I put them on. But it gave me all the motivation in the world to get my ass back to working out regularly. It's been stressing me out a little though, especially when people are telling me how great I look and whatever but it's like well I can't look as great as I did because I'm obviously not where I was 3 months ago. I'm just frustrated with myself I guess. I want this summer to be over, I want to be out of this house, away from all the banana bread and cookies and cakes and ice cream and going out to dinner with friends and seeing movies and eating candy and drinking, drinking, drinking.

One day at a time...

I'm sorry you had such a bad day yesterday. Days like that I just want to curl up in ball and forget they ever happened. I would have gone straight for that comfort food your mom keeps around the house! I hope you were able to get some frustration out on the treadmill. My run really gave me some perspective and got my mind back on track - it always feels good to run.
Gaining weight back is such a kick in the pants. It's so easy to get off track and stray away from the healthy lifestyle. It feels like I have so much work to do to get back to where I was just a month ago at 141.6 pounds! Oh well it's only going to get worse if we don't start trying harder... one day at a time. It's not like we are starting back at the very beginning - we can do it! Let's make a commitment to try harder!

Sorry your pants are tight Sarah!! I hate that!! It sucks and it's demotivating. The truth is that you DO look good, and you are far from looking chunko!! On the other hand though, I understand how one day plus one day, plus a lot of days...can take you back to where you once were. SHIT! I know! :blush5:!

Regardless, you are having fun, balancing LIFE...and mentally gearing yourself to KICK IT UP!! Get those shorts back on girl!! ...You know what reallllllllly makes me sad,...is that a couple years ago,...I bought a size "0" from Express...because I was THAT SMALL!! I was wearing "2"'s at the time "Editor Edition" and I was SOOOO CLOSE!!! ...Now I'm SOOOO FAR!!!! The pants still have the tags on them and I won't throw them away!!! I will one day fit them!!! (not a typical size 0 mind you!!! CURVY as hell!) ;)!

Regardless, the pants that fit me a couple months back, no longer fit me now either!! Work harder LADIES!!!!!! Let's not fall back into old patterns...AGAIN! ;)!

I complained to my mom about how I'm gaining weight living here and told her I don't want all this junk in the house. Last night my dad took ice cream out of the freezer and asked if I wanted the last of it. I said no and my mom told him that she's not buying any more ice cream until I go back to school and my dad's cookies that we always have in the house for his lunch are not going to be right on the counter anymore so I'm happy that these temptations will be out of the way! I did run last night on the treadmill and it felt good but my legs were a little sore being that I did the treadmill both sunday and monday. I know it's not too late to get back to where we were and I totally agree to kicking more ass with these workouts. I'm going on day 4 in a row here and it feels great!

Thanks Alta.. it IS tough but I know it can be done. I told myself, "You've already done it. You know how to do it. You can do it again." I can't imagine being a size 0 or 2... I think the last time I was that size was in 6th grade! LOL but I am really curvy as well, my hips are really wide. I am also having a lot of fun being able to do all the things I want this summer so even if I can't be perfect, the memories I've already made are much greater Come school time though... it's back to kicking ass hardcore!!! :p

Feeling much better today, my mind is cleared and all the tears are done. Did intervals on the treadmill again last night with some strength training after. 3 days in a row of working out! I'm going to work out again in a little while. I was supposed to go rock climbing with my friend today (at a gym, not outdoors) and that was going to be my workout for the day but she had to cancel. Tonight I'm going out with the boy for some drinks and I'm off tomorrow so it will be nice to relax! That's all for now :)
 
Glad to see you are back in the game!!! I know it's not easy living with your parents once you lived on your own!!! I had to do that that too and it sucked. Fall will be here soon, my daughter is asking me every day when school start she is so cute!!! Take it one day at a time and when you are feeling down just think of where you where a year ago...you did once you can do it again!

Thanks Veronique! I'm trying to be more understanding with my mom but it's just so hard at my age. Only a month and a half til I'm back to school though! Your daughter is a cutie. You two should make a countdown calendar to school or something! I bet she would like that :)

Alright. Wednesday I decided not to work out. I did 3 days in a row on the treadmill and I figured a break might be good. I went out downtown with the boy and his friends and we had a lot of fun. I slept in til 11AM the next day.. I couldn't believe it, I always get up early! But it felt good to just relax. I spent the rest of the day napping and sitting around, I had a pretty nice hangover going on. But I still got on the treadmill at 9:30 PM for 40 minutes of intervals. I only did abs after - I'm going to do arms today with my workout.

Weighed in this morning at 139 lbs. I'm down from what I was after last weekend so I'm not that mad. I also did measurements - my waist is actually down 1/2 inch but my stomach is up 1/2 inch. I'm feeling much slimmer already since I've been back to working out and it's quite motivating! I'm going to my ex's house after work to lay out and swim in his pool. It's supposed to be sunny and 91 degrees today so it's going to be realllllly hot out there! Good thing it's water day at work... we get to have a water balloon fight!

Other than that, my only plans for this weekend are to work and work out. I'm sure I will go out Saturday night if there is something going on.

Nice work Sarah! I can feel the difference after three days too! Just a matter of keeping it up and not slacking again! Maybe I will take some measurements next week too - I'm so nervous because I know I've gone up. I want to have those 29 jeans fit comfortably again!
That must be so hard adjusting to living with your parents again - I'm glad you mentioned something to them because it will make for a happier house! Your mom sounded really understanding about it too. My dad has ice cream every night after dinner and I don't know how my mom handles it because she is always watching her weight too. My dad is such a night time snacker and I'm sure I learned some habits from him. My sisters are all the same too! I've actually been really good with the night time snacks lately. I think it's because I finally got into a good book and look forward to going up to bed early instead of sitting in front of the tv.
Let's shoot for 2 pounds gone next Friday! I know we can do it! Let's work hard! Have a great weekend!!
 
Summerfest was a blast! Did you see any bands?

Just spent the day at the rock stage, saw Adelitas Way, Sick Puppies and Halestorm. Sick Puppies put on an AMAZING show. The had the most asskicking woman bassist I've ever seen.

It's hard losing weight in the summer with all the parties and cookouts going on. Too many friends and plans! But at least we're all staying active. :)

Sounds like you had a blast! It is so hard to lose during summer because it seems there is always something going on but you are right, we are staying active and that's what is important. I think the most exercise I got last summer was 2 bike rides around the lake and maybe once on the treadmill... IF that!!

Okay, so I had a nice weekend. I ate great on Saturday but I never got a work out in. I had plans to go out so instead I spent the time I would working out on curling my hair and getting pretty :) We had a fun time. Played darts, had some drinks. But I got absolutely no sleep so yesterday was a very lazy day for me. I did some cleaning and laundry but other than that I just laid in bed and I watched the movie 500 Days Of Summer. I loved it!!

Back to the grind today... I'm going to do my treadmill workout tonight. I'm sticking with interval training for a while now because otherwise I get bored running on the treadmill and it helps pass the time. I did it last week - 5 days of exercise so I'm going to shoot for that again! :)

Gotta go or I'll be late for work... I'll check back on everyone later!

Yesterday... eating not the best but not out of control. I had a nice workout. I did intervals on the treadmill like I've been doing but this time when I walked in between runs I held 4lb dumbbells in each of my hands to add a little extra oomph :) After the treadmill I worked my arms reallllly good. I love working my arms! Wrapped it up with abs and stretch.

Today I have an interview out at my campus to join what is called team transfer. It is a team of students from my school that helps transfer students adjust to the school during their first semester. The team holds a fall orientation program for the new students to help them learn more about the campus and answer any questions they have. I'm hoping I can be a part of the team because I want to be more involved with my school and not to mention it would look nice on a resume! So I'm excited for the interview, plus I get out of work early :p Wish me luck!

I haven't worked my arms in so long and I really want to get a good one in today - my arms need it for the sleeveless dress! I've been missing kettle bell too but they are doing construction on the studio so hopefully by Saturday it will be complete and I can get back to it.

Thanks! The interview went really well. However, a LOT of people interviewed for it and she said it's going to be really hard to choose people because there have been so many good candidates so far. I find out next Friday if I got it.

So... where did I leave off. Tuesday? Oh gosh. Alright. Let's recap:

Tuesday: Got off work early, got ready and headed out to my campus to go for my interview. Went to my house after and visited my guy roommates for a while. We decided to all chill for the night so my roomie came up and joined us and we hung out, played cards, drank beers, and had tons and tons of laughs. I am sooo excited to move in and for school to start... I love my roomies! We ate a lot of pizza, and I never got a work out in.

Wednesday: Field trip to the zoo and beach at work! It was a lot of fun. We even had a sand castle building contest! After work I came home and sat in front of the TV. I ate a salad like I always do... but then I remembered that my mom bought a bunch of ice cream. I'm SO mad that she did. She said she wasn't going to buy any until I left for school! And to make it worse, she bought stuff that she never gets that I just can't keep my hands off... drumsticks! Those ice cream cones that have chocolate coating on the top with nuts and then chocolate in the bottom of the cone! Yeah, and I ate TWO OF THEM! :cuss: I went for a 3 mile run outside after (in 87 degree weather) and that was good but then we had pizza for dinner and so I still didn't end the day quite right.

Thursday: Work was cancelled because of the storms, so I spent the day with my friend shopping. I got a cool new pair of shoes and a cute umbrella. We decided to make something ourselves for lunch so we went to the grocery store and bought cheese & salsa foccacia bread (omg, TO DIE FOR), spreadable feta cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, and spinach. We made our panini's with them and they were DELICIOUS! I again didn't have time to work out because by the time I got home I had to get ready and go babysit right away. We never had dinner, just snacked, so another day not so good.

I'm up a little early today to get a work out in before work. This will make only 3 days of exercise this week :( I really wanted to do 5 and I was going to but the way Tuesday and Thursday worked out, I filled up my day with other things that didn't give me the time to do so. We are leaving for up north this weekend and I'm really excited to just relax. I'm also off work for the next week so I'm super pumped about that!

Just weighed myself and the scale said 142... not surprised being that I have my period and I've had so much salt this week. I will get it back off by next Friday! No worries :D

Good luck with the job! How do you like running outside in the heat? My running partner just loves going out at noon when it's 95 and sweating like 10 gallons of water. I tried it a few times and felt like I was gonna suffocate and pass out, so it's back to the treadmill like the wuss I am. :)

I actually like running outside when it's hot! It makes me feel like I'm working harder with all the sweat, too... lol!

I'm so bad at updating this!

This weekend up north was a lot of fun. Ate and drank a ton, yuck. But when I got home Sunday I got to the gym and had a great work out. 1 mile run around the track, 1 mile on the elliptical, 7 miles on the bike, and lots of arm work then abs. I didn't work out Monday or Tuesday... Monday because I was not home at all that day and when I did get home, I just left right away to go to my house at school to celebrate my roomie's 21st! And as you can probably guess I was just too hungover to do anything yesterday :-/

Today I am going shopping and spending time with my cousin and grandma. After that, I'd like to go to the gym or get a work out in at home. I'm going rock climbing tonight with my friend, so that should be fun and I guess it is a good workout too.

I've been bummin' a little because things with the guy I've been seeing aren't going so well. We have great times together but he has not been talking to me as much as he used to and I'm pretty sure (and *hoping*) it's because I'm going back to school soon and it's going to have to end anyway. Whatever the case, I've been a little down... this isn't even a relationship and it's only been a month and a half since we started seeing each other, already it hurts me quite a lot that things are the way they are. I haven't felt this in a while. Let me tell you, it for damn sure makes me want to be locked in a gym all day... need to work it out!
