Don't have much time again, weighed in this morning at 137.6 no gain or loss this week. Working all day again :( I can't wait for next week when I'm only working the mornings at my new job! Sorry I can't write more or check on you all. I will soon. Hope everyone's hanging in there <3

Wow, that was the busiest week of my life!

Monday: Worked 8-7, gym
Tuesday: Gym, worked 9-7
Wednesday: Worked 9-2, hung out with my friend the rest of the day
Thursday: Worked 9-5, went to summerfest (huge 11 day music festival) and out to the bars, was out til 3 in the morning
Friday: Worked 9-7, went out to dinner, went out to see old friends (plans failed, drove around til midnight practically falling asleep at the wheel)
Saturday: Worked 9-5, went out to our house at school and partied til almost 4 in the morning
Sunday: E-X-H-A-U-S-T-E-D

As you can see, no workouts since Tuesday. I just really had no time because I was busy with work and trying to have a social life at the same time. Bad idea! I'm drained. But I love the new job, had sooo much fun with my friends this weekend, had a blast dancing and singing at the concert we saw at summerfest. It was a good week. This week will be more relaxed because I'm only working my new job just in the mornings so I can make it to the gym after work every day. I will catch up with you guys soon!

Hey Sarah!! Fun week!! I think it's going to be harder to stay updated so much with how busy summer is!! I love summer and even though I am back at the saddle this week - I can't devote everyday to exercise and healthy eating! That is what Spring, Fall and Winter are for!! Get togethers, parties and bbq's are what make summer for me so there is no avoiding them! I wish I had a fun job for the summer - I'm so jealous! Enjoy it while it lasts!! Glad to be back this week although it's a short one again!! Looking forward to hearing about the gym tomorrow!! Cheers girl - love the pics!

Sounds like you had a great weekend......I am exausted just reading your post! Hope you got some rest and this is a new week!!! You will get back to the gym!!
 
Ahh it was SO good to get back to the gym yesterday! I ran3 miles of intervals around the track - 1 lap walk, 1 lap run. Then I did 10 minutes on the elliptical with highest incline and increased the resistance from level 9 to 13. I did a few arm moves then went to abs (my arms are sooo sore from pushing little kids on the tire swing all day... my triceps especially, it's a good workout!)

I'm going to the gym after work again today.. and my new running shoes will be here! I had to return the other ones I just got, they hurt my shins.

Gosh I've been so tired lately... being in the sun everyday at work and playing with little kids is really wearing me out! Today we are going to an indoor water park for a field trip :)

Yesterday I got my new shoes and went for a run outside. It was sooo hot and since I had already been outside all day at my job, I didn't run as long. I just went 2.5 miles but it felt so good to run again. I ate fine until I got home from work and dove into all the chocolate I could find, and my friend and I went to the midnight premiere of the twilight saga eclipse so i had a bunch of sugar to keep me up. Terrible stomach ache! But the movie was soooooo good. We got there two and a half hours early to get a spot in line, and it was already packed!

I'm hanging out with my boy toy after work... I think we might go mini golfing or something. The weather is gong to be perfect today :) So I'm not going to get a workout in but I'll be back at it tomorrow!

Oh I'm so jealous you saw Eclipse! I want to see it so bad but I don't know anyone that is watching the series to go with me. My sisters went last night in Calgary and they said it was soo good too!! I might have to go by myself this weekend to watch it because I don't want to wait till it comes out on DVD.
That's so fun you have a new boy toy - I've seen you mention him a few times so it must be working out well.
I like the idea of working myself back into exercising gradually - start small and work my way back - I think if I tried to run today my flab would hurt again like when I got back from Dominican. I promise to be in better spirits next week! With only 1 month till the wedding I have no excuses not to! I need that good feeling back too! Thanks for reminding me.

I am glad to hear good reviews about Eclips I am hoping to see it tonight since I couldn't buy my tix in advance and I am hoping for good seats! The theatre here had a Tripple going starting at 7 last night with Twilight then at 9:30 New Moon then at 12:01am Eclips for 20$ I wanted to go it would have been great but I had to be up at 5 in order to be at work on time and I need more then 2hours of sleep!

I really get what you mean by how exausting taking care of kids is imagine taking two of those home with you lol!!! Glad you seem to enjoy the new job, Also happy to hear about the new Boy Toy!!!

Hey Sarah! Started a new diary this morning to give me some extra motivation this month! Hope you had a good weekend!! Mine was fun but included a lot of booze and food and sleep!!!
 
Hey guys! Gosh, I've been really slacking on this diary and keeping up on everyone. I've just been really busy lately. But with my friend that visited back home now and Summerfest and all the other festivities done, I think things are going to be a little more relaxed for a while.

So what was I up to for the holiday weekend? Swimming in the lake, going to Summerfest again to see another concert, going out to the bars, going out to my house at school and drinking all day while playing beer pong and bags and hanging out with friends, going to a huge concert (Dave Matthews Band, sold out show, in a valley) and spending all day in bed today. My body was so sore from being on the go constantly! It feels great to finally relax.

Now onto the diet and exercise: not the greatest. I think I got only 3 days of workouts in last week. But I'm going to add that Saturday night my friend and I walked 45 minutes through downtown to get to the bars (using the GPS on her phone, lol) and we walked quite fast and up a huuuuge hill that killed my legs. So we got a little exercise there :) But then at the end of the night we ate two huuuuge slices of pizza and felt like CRAP!

I've decided I'm going to try to get back into counting calories again. My weight has been fluctuating around 140 lately and I'd really like to get back to 135. So tomorrow begins the counting calories. I'm going to try to stay away from eating out as much as possible and cut the drinking down a bit. Also getting back to running! I'm going to the gym in the morning before work. I think I need morning work outs. I always work out harder in the mornings and I miss my consistency with the gym!

Didn't make it to the gym today - I think I slept way too much between yesterday and over night. I did still get up to go for a run. I ran for 26 minutes so I'm assuming about 2.5 miles. It is pretty humid today and a little windy and since I haven't been running regularly it was pretty tough.

I've started writing down my calories for today and also weighed myself this morning, I'm at 138.6 so I just need to lose about 3.5 pounds to get back to maintenance weight!

*EDIT: I was actually 137.6... so... only 2.5 pounds to lose :)

Gotta run... 20 minutes til I have to leave for work and I still haven't showered or finished eating breakfast! Ahh!

Good job getting up and running! I ran yesterday too for the first time in a while and it wasn't so bad at first but when I got off I could feel it right away! It felt great though - hope to get a little run in at lunch too! Have a good day!

Thanks Lisa! I was actually out with my boy toy that night so I had him ;) I really don't know if I'm technically single right now!? I'm thinking this will be just a summer fling. I do NOT want a relationship any time soon after just ending things with my ex only 5 months ago. Running is definitely taking some getting used to... I feel like my endurance is not quite as good as it was. But all it takes is practice! I wish I had time to work out a little on lunch breaks at work... I'm totally wiped out by the end of the day from all the kids that it's soo hard to find the energy!

Alright. Day one of counting calories recap:
Breakfast - Egg and cheese on whole wheat english muffin (250 cal)
Snack - Hi-C juice box (90 cal)
Lunch - PB sandwich (170 cal), banana (120 cal), PB cracker (30 cal)
Snack - Small salad - lettuce and pico de gallo (10 cal)
Dinner - Salad - lettuce, pico de gallo, diced chicken (90 cal)
Snack - Fiber One bar (140 cal)
= 900 calories

OUCH!

I ended up hanging out with the boy and we went out for dinner. I told him I'm trying not to eat fast food or eat out at all so we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and I ordered a salad. I ordered it without any sauce on the chicken, no cheese, and dressing on the side. So there wasn't much to it. But I felt really full after! I'm going to try to eat more today because I'm really shooting for 1,400 calories. I plan to work out after work today so hopefully I make it to the gym. I hate when I say I will and then I don't! Okay scratch that... I WILL make it to the gym today! Maybe I'll go swimming :) Or at least try... I'm a TERRIBLE swimmer!
 
You are doing great Sarah, Kids are exausting it's not like you are sitting at a desk all day so you kind of get a workout at work!!! I love swimming I must have been a fish in a past life! If you practice swimming the way you trained with running you will become a great swimmer...mabe a triatlon is in your future ?? lol!!!!
 
I wouldn't worry about the gym as much when you are working running around all day out in the sun! That is way more than you are used to so I'm sure your burning a lot of calories! The food log is more important and yesterday looked great however a little low but after having some high days I'm sure it will all balance out. Keep it up Sarah!

As far as the drinking :reddevil:....Oh whyyyy must it be so fun!?!! Sounds like you are busy as hell and running around a lot! Good on you though for getting back in line, so you say! Counting those calories and getting back on it! Glad you got your run in, and all it does take is practice for endurance!! Great job!!!

You are looking mighty fine, so easing up a little and having fun is what life is about! Balance! :D! I think I need to go on a NO DRINKING challenge for one month AT LEAST! 3 would be nice!! :drool5:! LOL!
 
Running low on time again!

Wednesday I didn't get a work out in. I was exhausted from yelling at kids all day during our glow in the dark mini golf trip. Yeah... note to self: NEVER TAKE CHILDREN MINI GOLFING!!! It was absolutely horrible and really frustrating. I took a nap when I got home and when I woke up I was feeling so lazy so no workout. I ended the day around 1,300 calories.

Thursday was good until I got home. In the morning I ate well and played about an hour of kickball with the kids at work so I got some running in doing that. I came home and binged, though. Ice cream, cookies, whatever. But I still made it to the gym. I started running around the track and got about .7 miles in when a kick boxing class blocked it off so I had to get on the treadmill. I ran 2 miles on the treadmill and it was actually really easy! And I was sweating up a storm. I am going to start using the treadmill more. I might even re-do that training program for a 5K just because the workout really helped me tone up in the beginning of my weight loss. Also did some dumbbell workouts and abs to finish up. After the gym I went to my friends house. We drank beers and ate cheese. True Wisconsinites we are.

Started today off with a smoothie and a Fiber One bar. I'm not sure about going to the gym today - my entire body is so sore from yesterday. But damn did it feel good to work out like that again.
