A goal without a plan is just a wish...

Hey it's me Lisa - something happened with my account and I couldn't log in - remember when this happened to you- well it's really annoying!
Good work staying on track! I'm so excited for you taking that trip - good idea and awesome way to get some serious motivation back! Good luck studying - I always feel so sorry for you when you talk about school work - I do not miss that part of uni one bit!!
I'm not sure if I am going to stay with this new log in but I am keeping the new journal still for sure.

Hey!!! Don't stick to this account name, you can still use your old one. You just have to wait for it to stop being fussy with you... just wait it out and sooner or later you can log in again. It happened to me again about a month ago, but I knew there was just a glitch. I was so worried you were gone, being that Marie isn't around here much anymore. I have been waiting to hear from you! :) I am stuck in the library right now and it SUCKS!! I hate it! lol but I know I've only got a month left of this before I get a nice spring break so it's worth it :p

Wednesday already! This week is flyin' by.

Exercise this morning:
- 2 mile run around track
- 10 minutes walking on treadmill @ 3.5 mph / incline 7%
- Circuit training (leg extension, leg curl, calf raise, shoulder press, chest press, dumbbell bench press, 3 way dumbbell raise, side bends, squats, bicep curls)
- 1 mile intervals on track (1 lap walk / 1 lap sprint)
- Abs (basic, left/right, laying flat, bicycles, obliques, side planks)

I had my watch timing how long I was at the gym and I ended up being there for an hour and 25 minutes! Woo!

Food so far:
- Fiber One bar before gym (140 cal)
- Blueberry banana smoothie (190 cal)
- Egg (70 cal)
- Toast (50 cal)

I took a picture of my breakfast! Yummmm! LOL it looks kinda boring actually. But it was healthy, low calorie, and it filled me up :D

One of my classes got cancelled today... WOOHOO!!! But I'm not really getting a break because I have a lot of studying to do for my exam tomorrow :( I'm SO nervous for it! It's all essay stuff and I have to know all the countries in the world (excluding the ones in Africa) and my professor is only going to choose 20 for the exam! GREAT :icon_bs:

AND today I have to give an impromptu speech - I'm going to draw 3 questions and I get to pick which one I'd like to talk about then I have 2 minutes to prepare a 1-3 minute speech on it! I really have got to be on my toes today!

Hey Girl!!! Looks like things are going very well!! Workouts look AWESOME... food looks boring (kidding ;))... and don't worry about your exams. Just do your best and you can walk away proud. As far as your speech goes, take your time, speak clearly and look at your audience in the forehead... never the eyes (you'll lose focus). You know your stuff, just breathe :)

Marie :D

Ooooh! What's your recipe for that blueberry banana smoothie? That looks delicious! I can't believe how quick your 2-mile run is! 16 minutes!! I track my heart rate and I don't like it to go over 170 too much, but I can only keep it that low at like a 22 minute 2-mile run... how long did it take you to get to that time? I think I can run something like a 9 minute mile right now, but I can't keep going after that! Uggh!

Here I was thinking you'd gone and left the site or something had happened, but turns out you got a new journal with 3 pages already! I'm an idiot. :smash:

So your here, and still rocking as usual. Congrats on Panama City. I worked out of a crappy motel there for a week when I lived in Florida and all we kept thinking was how awesome it would be to actually vacation there instead of just work and sleep. Enjoy the party! The beach and huge hotels overlooking the ocean were amazing. If we had gotten the time me and my coworker were going to pretend we were a rich couple and tour all the million dollar condos for sale. I can only imagine the view.

:smilielol5:Well the speech went OK. The question I got was, "If you could be any animal, what would you be, and why?" Well I didn't think outside the box, and just went with a dog. BUT I did say, "One reason that I would like to be a dog is because they get to run around like crazy outside all the time. I recently found a passion for running, so if I were a dog, I could run forever!" LOL something stupid like that. But it worked :D

All it is, is 1/2 cup skim milk (45 cal), 1 small banana (100 cal), 1/2 cup frozen blueberries (35 cal), and a few ice cubes! 190 calories! And it is delicious :) As for the running, it really just depends on how much energy I have for that day. I think the day I ran the 2 miles in a little over 16 minutes, I just had this huge amount of energy on the track, especially since there was a class in there on the track so I sort of pictured it as a race and just went flying by everyone. Just keep timing yourself, a 9 minute mile run is AWESOME!

LOL no way no how am I leavin' that fast! I have never been to PCB so I'm very excited to see what it's all about! Party central, that's for sure. I'm going to have to find a way to get my hungover ass out of bed each morning and get SOME kind of workout in! Otherwise that week will be the death of me :( NOT looking forward to the aftermath! lol

-----

Yesterday I ended up at 1,280 calories. This is because I fell asleep at 6PM!!!?!!?! What the hell?! I didn't get like ANY studying done, I was sooo flippin' tired! But on the bright side, I got 12 hours of sleep :p And now I'm awake to study! WOO!

I took progress pics this morning but the front view still looks pretty much the same as it has been looking for the past 2 months, so I took a side view picture as well. I only took one side view shot of myself so far, and that was when I was 145 pounds. So I'll put that up here!

Gotta get to studying... today is going to be a busy day... study, class, exam, straight home to unpack, go tanning, and get to work! It's good to be busy. Less sitting around all day, wondering what to eat next :)

Sarah,

Thanks for keeping your journal. Your determination is very motivating to me. I wish I could stay after it like you do. Keep up the great work! You're doing awesome!!!

Fit

Went over on my calories for the day... not by MUCH but still... and I haven't worked out yet... I'm sitting in bed contemplating whether or not to do it. I REALLY don't feel like it, but I WANT to.

HELP!!!

Ok... let's see here.

I could:
A) Sit in bed and watch MTV, feeling crappy about myself.
B) Workout and watch MTV, feeling strong and proud of myself.

Hmmm.. decisions, decisions...

Still no motivation to get out of my big comfy bed......

UGH. I'll write back later and give an update one what I chose to do. Just needed to vent a little.

Well... it took me almost an hour to decide lol... BUT I CHOSE OPTION B :D lol and I feel SOO much better that I did!

I didn't do a hardcore workout, but enough to get my blood pumping and the calories burning :)

- 1 mile run @ 6.5 mph
- 1 mile intervals (walking @ 4.0 mph / running @ 7.0 mph)
- Kettle bell swings, arm press w/kettle bells, 3-way dumbbell raise, abs/obliques

Tomorrow morning is weigh in... not sure how that's going to go... kinda nervous! Can I get out of the 135's!?!? I'll get back to yall first thing in the AM :D

~ Sarah

Good decision making!:hurray:
I have a good feeling about how the weigh in is going to go for you today.
how'd the exam go?

GRRRRRR :reddevil:

I'm STILL 135.2!!! No loss this week! WHAT THE HELL :willy_nilly: This is really frustrating :(

Well I guess I'm going to have to change things up a bit. I'm going to take my calories down to 1,350.... I NEED to drink more water... and I'm going to incorporate more interval training. HOPEFULLY THAT DOES THE TRICK!

On the bright side, I didn't GAIN... but it's still a pain in the butt when you THINK you're going to see a loss and you DON'T! :ack2:

Okay... well that's all for now. I have the day off and I'm spending it with my mom shopping... I think that's exactly what I need :)

~ Sarah

I understand the frustration and feel for you - I know if you keep it up it will eventually show on the scale. Good idea taking the calories down a bit and water, water, water! Next week will come up fast so let's just stay consistent and no over indulging this weekend. Enjoy your day shopping with your mom - sounds like an awesome start to the weekend.
Take care and chat with you Monday! I promise I won't let you down this time!

Maybe it's not so much the amount you're eating, but 'WHAT' you're eating!! Are you getting a lot of processed, packaged food in your diet? Anything in a package that you need to open (granola bars, pudding, 100cal packs) are all processed and your body has a really hard time digesting them. I did a bunch of research on enzymes recently. Enzymes are what help us with digestion, and we don't get ANY from packaged foods. Raw veggies are the way to go. Cooking your veggies kills the enzymes (microwaving is the worst). I've been buying the bulk back of mixed, cut, washed veggies and putting them out with lunch and supper. The kids love it and my weight dropped back down quite quickly. Worth a try... and it's really good for you :)

Remember too that you've just started to include interval training along with strength. You've said that you feel stronger, meaning you're building muscle!!

Well this weekend wasn't the greatest :( I indulged Friday night with my friends... mexican food got the best of me lol but that was my only pig out session so I guess that's good?

I 100% agree with you Marie! And thanks to you I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow to buy tons of fresh veggies and fruit that I can cut up and snack on all week :) My diet has been pretty routine and I think it's time to mix it up a little bit. Hopefully this will kick start the weight loss back up again.

Weekend recap:

Friday: Ate crappy, drank and went out for Mexican food with my friends. Was literally so full I thought I was going to explode. No workout.
Saturday: Ate pretty good. Went out to a party and drank a lot. Ending up puking at the end of the night :( At least I didn't eat the pizza and breadsticks my friend ordered at 1 in the morning. Had a great workout - ran 1 mile on the treadmill, walked 10 minutes on incline, then did 10 minutes of side shuffles on incline (5 minutes each side).. some kettle bell swings, lots of arm work an abs. My legs are pretty sore today!
Sunday: Went out for pizza with Nick. Didn't over do it. Just had a peanut butter sandwich, a few spoonfuls of mixed fruit, and celery w/dip for dinner. No workout, too hungover :(

My house is re-stocked. Salad, bananas, tomato, onions, EAS protein shakes, water bottles... I'm going to buy lots of veggies and fruit tomorrow as well! I'm glad that I got the water bottles because I actually drink more water when I have them.

So this weeks game plan is to shoot for 1,350 calories a day, drink more water, eat more fresh food/less processed!, and get some great workouts in :D

Can't WAIT to get to the gym in the morning!!!

~ Sarah

I had pizza too!:smash: Good job getting all stocked up for the week - should we declare it kick ass week? I'm feeling like it could be! I want to blow my weigh in through the roof! Is Nick the ex? How's that going? Is he still not taking it very good and trying to get you back?
We did side shuffles as a warm up in our Kettle Bell class and someone mentioned doing them on a treadmill but I don't think I'd be coordinated enough and fall right off - was it hard to get used to?

I think we shall declare it kick ass week :D Yes Nick is the ex... things between us are better now. We talk here and there but before yesterday, I hadn't seen him in about 2 weeks... I'm just trying to keep my distance right now. I had never tried side shuffles on the treadmill before and yes at first it was very difficult! I had the incline at 5% and put the speed to 1.0 mph. I hung on to the treadmill with one hand until I got my feet coordinated and then I was able to turn the speed up to 2.0 mph and it was a really great workout! You should really try it!

-----

Just got back from the grocery store... I bought celery, green/yellow/red bell peppers, cucumber, grape tomatoes, apples, strawberries, kiwi, red/green grapes :) I'm excited to cut it all up! I'm going to make some hard boiled eggs too.

At the gym this morning I ran 2 miles around the track and then did circuit training for the remainder of the time (I was at the gym for 70 minutes). I attempted to run around the track again but I only made it 2 laps before I had to stop because my big toe was irritated and rubbing against my shoe and it just bothered me too much to keep running. I still got a really great work out, lots of arms... I love working my arms! :)

Gotta go, happy Monday :seeya:

~ Sarah

Well I realized that I do NOT like raw veggies! BLEH! The only raw veggie I like is celery. Which I have plenty of it. So I got rid of the cucumber and peppers because there is just no way I can eat them! I'm pretty picky :blush5: But I have lots of fruit and I LOOOOVE fruit so that won't be going to waste.

Yesterday's calories ended up at 1,345 which was PERFECT. I went over to my friend's house for a while and drank one beer. I didn't get home until 1 in the morning and as I was sitting up with my roommate having a heart to heart, we ate some grapes. I also had a Fiber One bar as well :angelsad2: So I went over on calories.

I have not gone to the gym yet today but I am going in about 3 hours. I'm going to run around the track before the core complete class, and then I'm going to do the hour long step class so I will be there for almost 2 hours. I'm excited :D

That's all for now! Cya...
~ Sarah

Wow... shows how long ive been away!!! you have a new diary and i didnt figure that out until 4 pages into it!!! :smash:

congrats on maintaining your weight lately. i know you want to lose lose lose... but just as much congrats are due for maintaining so WAY TO GO!!! :)

i know how much it suuuucks to be stuck at the same weight.. but hang int here... the plateau is expected.. but normally short lived :)

and... i have to say i DO NOT like raw veggies eiether... AT ALLL!!!!!! barf.

so i hear ya there gf!

Hey Melissa! Thanks for stopping by. And thank you for the support - it's certainly frustrating being stuck around the same weight for so long but you're right, I should be proud that I have been able to maintain. Hopefully this plateau won't last too long. I suppose I'm happy either way because I like my body as it is right now. Just curious to know what it looks like at 125 :D

-----

Today's workout:
- 0.4 miles on the elliptical with highest incline and resistance @5 (all the treadmills were taken so I had to do something until one was open!)
- 1 mile run on the treadmill @ 6.8 mph increased to 7.5 mph
- 15 minutes abs "core complete" class
- 1 hour step class

I have about 100 calories left for the day but right now I'm realllllly full from dinner (salad, teriyaki chicken breast, 1/2 cup red parsley potatoes) so if I do get hungry I plan to have some strawberries and kiwi :)

So much to do... homework, cleaning, laundry... but I just can't get myself to do it! I'm so lazy when it comes to things that I HAVE to do instead of things I want to do :( It's just one of those weeks where I just want to lay in bed all day. Yeah... I'm ready for spring break to get here now!!!!

Goodnight all,
~ Sarah

PS: Changed my goal weight for 3/19/2010 to 130 lbs rather than 128. Not sure I can even get to 130 but I'm going to try and if I can't, no biggie! Right now I'm way more focused on toning up than anything. Arms and abs... gotta get that beach body ;)
