Thanks OHD

OK - I need to be done eating today (just looking at my fat grams - but hey...I haven't had an avocado in a week!!) ;)

CALORIES 1,374 Goal 1410 - 1760
CARBS 160 Goal 159 - 286
FAT 68 Goal 31 - 68
PROTEIN 67 Goal 35 - 154
Sodium 2,005 Goal 1200 - 2400

126.5 oz of water :)

I can't believe how fast you walk!! I tried out my pedometer on our last "brisk" walk; I think we did 1.5 miles in about an hour. Of course, I have short little legs:D

I haven't had an avocado in a week!!
No avocado in a week I think you need to go and get an infusion, just tell them to leave the fat out. I planted two avocado seeds and now I have sprouts but I keep sitting outside with the salt and pepper and trying to wait patiently lol..

I have the same pedometer as Ohappydaye! I like it too! ;)

That watch sounds cool to me too! I got a watch to time me when I walk but it doesn't do anything cool like yours :(

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!!!!

Well, we'll see how the watch works this morning :) I'm taking it on the test spin!

My ipod is fully charged, and I'm READY to go!

We'll see how far I get *this* week - the plan is to do the same 11.49 route I had planned to do last Sunday.

I am glad to see you up and walking, and walking and walking!!! My husband loves the Ironman watches. He gets that brand to wear to work.

Do you use weights when you walk? I have considered buying some wrist weights to wear when walking but wasnt sure about it.

Yayyy!! We have the same one! How cool?!

Hey Guys!

I DID IT!! I am getting closer to that half marathon every week :D

I went 11.5 miles in 2:45.02. Or 14.34 minutes per mile.

My goal for my long walk has always been distance figuring that improved times will come - but damn...I'm so happy to break 15 minutes per mile for that amount of distance!

I'm really proud of myself right now!
:)

Thanks you guys!! It really did feel good :D

I had a day of temptation!
After brunch, we hung around the house for a couple of hours, then Bob, Megan and I headed down to Laguna Beach for a little while. After a walk around the tide pools, we went to a coffee house...I ordered a vanilla caramel java blended ice frappacino with whip cream and drizzled caramel.

I took a grand total of two sips and gave the rest to Megan! We walked around a bit, and then headed to Ruby's Diner (Hamburger & Shake Joint)!

I ordered a salad and ate half of it (NO SHAKE!) I came home and found out the salad had 917 calories!!! Then, I started doing the math...

It did not have the avocado on it that was factored into the calories, so less 145 for a total of 772 - and I only ate half of it - 386 calories! Not nearly as bad as it could have been :D Did I mention I didn't have a shake? ;) I did have 5 french fries - and did not calculate them into my daily total, I also didn't calculate the two sips of the frappacino - I have no idea how to do the math on those two.

So...the "damage" for today is:
CALORIES 1,121 Goal 1410 - 1760
CARBS 72 Goal 159 - 286
FAT 65 Goal 31 - 68
PROTEIN 63 Goal 35 - 154
Sodium 1,782 Goal 1200 - 2400
126 oz of water :D

I'm not sure how I got so low on the carbs!

great job on resisting the temptation. you know in the real world is where we find out how tuff we really are!! Shakes and fries are really hard to turn down so pat yourself on the back for that one:p :p keep up the great work girl later on STAR

YAY!!!!! M2M you have got some will power!!!!! I'm So happy you had half and you only took two sips!!!!!! You are gonna reach your goal by the end of this challenge for sure!! Have a AWESOME DAY!!And drink your WATER;)

Awesome job Debi.

Everything is just going so well for you and what a testament you are to the daily discipline required to lifestyle changes. Talk about a 'take charge' mindset !!

You really lead by example that hard work pays off and that hard work needn't be all grudgery and torture but in the same breath reminding us that hard work must be a part of ones' daily life for stellar results.

I went to that walking site last night after reading your thread to do a little research on marathon walking and lo and behold I ended up reading about an hours worth of material on my plantar faciitis. Short verison is I learned a lot about what I was doing wrong with warm-ups and stretching. I now know I have hope of reducing further debilitation to myself.

Have a great day ;)

Thanks Star - you're right, shakes are really hard to pass up - especially Peanut Butter Shakes!!

You are gonna reach your goal by the end of this challenge for sure!!

Jelly, I hope we ALL reach our goal :D

T2, you always say the nicest things! Yesterday was hard in that I didn't want to just 'blow' all the effrot I put into an 11.5 mile walk simply by eating too much while I was out. The salad I had was delicious which helped. It would have been much different had my dinner showed up being a measily thing, while Bob was chowing down on a huge quacamole cheese burger ;)

But you're right - in order to keep this weight off FOREVER, it has to start with day to day changes in our LIFE. I can't go back to the way I used to be - I don't want to.

That is GREAT news!! I hope the new information will help keep you out there once you're back to walking! I had to realize I wasn't spending enough time doing warm up exercises - and you know, I don't EVER want to get another shin splint in my *life* LOL! So, I'm s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g really well now!!

I found a half marathon I'm thinking about doing

There are 3 races, but currently, I only qualify for the first. I'd have to improve my time to enter the other two - but it looks interesting :D The only problem, is I think most of the entries are runners, not walkers...I'll have to read more!

You certainly have time to train for the Carlsbad race and you know the forum would cheer you on like crazy !!

Maybe Sean could rig you up in some WL gear and pay your entry fee *cough cough hint hint cough cough*
