Have fun at the wine club! I wish my husband did things like that with me... Since I have started watching dancing with the stars again... I want to learn to ball room dance. What great exersice that would be!!

egads just don't drink and walk lol.......

WOW! M2M you are a WALKING Machine! Those are WONDERFUL times!! You really would walk LAPS around those marathon RUNNERS!!! Have fun tonight!! :D

Thanks you guys!
I'm posting tonight to CONFIRM that I did not drink ;) I had one mouthful of wine (literally)! I also had 3 little cubes of cheese - not big ones, roughly 1/4 C of lasagne, 1/4 cup of an enchilada type dish and about 1/3 C of a couscous with cranberry & almond dish. Oh, and about 5 million grapes...I haven't done the math on all this yet ;)

Hope everyone has a good night!

Ok - I made a rough estimate of what I ate with closest choices...

CALORIES 1,709 Goal 1410 - 1760
CARBS 198 Goal 159 - 286
FAT 70 Goal 31 - 68
PROTEIN 75 Goal 35 - 154
Sodium 2,367 Goal 1200 - 2400

Water - 126 oz

Thanks HF :) I've found that it isn't the wine I have a hard time staying away from on wine club nights - it's the appetizers & CHEESE!

Anyhoo...I went for my walk this morning and here's the numbers;

Total 5 miles 1:02.53

Lap 1 Warm Up 3.52 .25 mile
Lap 2 Jog/walk 26.32 2.25 mile
Lap 3 Walk/jog 28.50 2.25 mile
Lap 4 Warm Down 3.30 .25 mile

Are you walking a track? if so, wow... good for you. I can't do them... it's ummm against my beliefs lol. I prefer seeing different scenery.

No - I'm not on a track - I've used to chart a daily course from my house. I go out a back path for the 1st & last .25 mile and I'm on the sidewalk of a 6 lane road the comes in to my town for 4.5. It's boarded on both sides of the road by an arroyo. So it's like being on a freeway through a wild life preserve with housing at either end ;) Today I saw 1 Red Tail Hawk, 2 deer (male & female), one dead snake and something that SMELLED really dead but never saw ;) There's been a Golden Eagle I've seen 3x's now roosting in the trees of the arroyo.

Thats a neat website M2m, bookmarked thanks! Your wildlife sounds great. If I get up for an early run, I often see red deer, muntjacs, green woodpeckers, foxes.

Who put so much friggin sodium in my cottage cheese???
430mg...per half cup.

Grumble...

I have heard people on spark mention washing their cottage cheese... but personally i think thatd take a lot of the flavor out of it- who wants to just eat curds.... I've also heard mentioned a low sodium cottage cheese... but i've not seen that in the store... Every so often I will cut it with some defrosted frozen raspberries or blueberries.. makes it sweet and the fruit adds some fiber to it... Reading labels is depressing isn't it ?

what a great nature walk... nice to be able to see all that wildlife... and an eagle too.. what a nice bonus for the miles you'reputting on your feet...

Mal - I read yesterday on the site posted regarding sodium that Cottage Cheese was high, but it didn't occur that it was MY cottage cheese ;)

And no, really, I'm not going to wash it either! I do cover it with a chopped tomato (that I USED to pour salt on top of!)

The walk is nice - except for that 6 lane road running through it ;) It really is a primary artery leading out of this community. The posted MPH is 55. If I stuck to the trail down below, it would be nicer, but it has more hills and ticks. I'm good with staying away from ticks ;)

The Golden Eagle is cool - the local bird sanctuary out here told Megan (she's taken classes there), that there is only one known breeding pair out here and they nest on Catalina Island. So to see it 3 days this last week makes me wonder if they're moving inland :) OR if there are more breeding pairs!

While I'm rambling...
One of the coolest things about our Grand Canyon Camping trip in April, was Bob, Megan and I, sitting on an old rock made fence somewhere along the rim with 8 California Condors sweeping up in a kettle and flowing out over our heads, then down in front of us as they dove into the canyon. It was phenomenal! Megan went through a C. Condor informational program while camping up in Big Sur last year, and we were able to trace the wing numbers of the ones we saw back to Big Surs breeding program - it was very cool.

I'm going to start calling you MMR instead of M2M. :p

Great walks as usual. I want to improve my time spent jogging, but whenever I see what you are doing, I also want to increase the amount of time I spend walking. Maybe add an extra walk in here or there.

We see cute little brown bunnies with white tails when we walk. And sometimes mice by a bridge we cross, eek. And junior high and high school kids waiting for their bus at 6:30am (crazy early). We say good morning to them all every day to be friendly and to see if they have the guts or manners to respond.

1/3 C of a couscous with cranberry & almond dish - oh that sounds good. I think I'll go make that now!!!

So fitday has cottage cheese and low sodium cc (417 vs 29 mg for 1/2 cup - wow).

T2 - Yeah, wasn't phonics great :::snort:::

And YES I put tons of pepper on my tomato on top of my cottage cheese - it's just that before I used to add a ton of salt too ;)

Patty - I'm definitely going to look for low sodium cottage cheese!
And MMR? All I can think of is Measles, Mumps & Rubella, but I don't think that's what you mean!

We get the bunnies too - but they're just coyote food around here.

And too funny about seeing if the kids would have the guts or manners to respond! Do they?

Oh, and if I had to JOG the whole 5 miles, I'd die. Pure and simple!

Off to take Megan to swim practice - she has a meet this weekend :D

MMR (Girl) = MapMyRun
So sad for the bunnies :(
Some kids respond. It's nice when they do. But I know some are shy too. I was for sure.
