Oh Jenn!!
I am so glad to hear you're hitting the pool!! Good for you!! It really was amazing once I started looking around - even the "skinny" people probably felt they had areas of their body they would like to work on. I tell ya, being quasi naked is a great equalizer
And yes, I definitely think it was a sodium overload coupled with TOM arriving. I just don't think I had ever in my life stepped on a scale and seen such a huge difference in such a short time! Remember, my scale lived in the back of my closet for at least 10 years - I've never known the ups and downs quite so intimately LOL!!
For beer, I was sticking with Red Tail - I love Guiness but figured I should go with something a bit lighter but still drinkable
The wine, well, that wasn't quite planned, a friend's husband brought me an Old Vine Zin, knowing that I would love it. I simply couldn't let him drink alone
And the margaritas and bahama mama, well, they were made by girlfriends, and well, they just kind of happened! What's funny, is that on camping trips in the past, I never even *thought* about how much I ate or drank! The frustration with this trip is that I got up by 5:30 each morning and walked. I ate well for breakfast, lunch and dinner with the anticipation that the snacking and drinking would balance out the rest of my calories, at least keeping them under 1800 a day. I had no clue that so much sodium could really effect me like that! But I did have a great time - there were 38 of us, and we camp a lot together, so it's like family without the baggage
It wouldn't be such a problem, but I camp a lot with them - I need to find better ways of dealing with it. I didn't snack at all throughout the day. I didn't snack during the games. I didn't have any s'mores, I had yogurt for breakfast (no eggs, bacon, sausage or pancakes), I ate a salads for lunch.
It's the happy hour I need to work on - oh and the drinking LOL!
