A dairy from India

Doesn't it feel better to get it out! And good for you for not eating crappy food after needing to vent! I would have gone straight to Wendy's! You'll make it through the week and then get to be where you need to be this weekend. I wouldn't worry too much about taking some time off this weekend and spending time with your family. Just make the rest of this week really good and you will feel less stressed when getting ready to go. Best of luck! :grouphug:

Thanks for the hug, CG. You are so sweet. Really needed that. And very sweet encouraging words. You rock. You have a great week too!!

Juni, im so sorry to hear about your grandmother. although it must be nice to be able to talk with her often, i can understand that its not the same as being there with her.

an eye infection is no fun at all. i wear contacts and had an eye infection because of them a few years ago. My eye hurt so much and was swollen for probably a week. I hope your eye infection goes away sooner rather than later.

way to go for going on your run despite all this stress thats going on in your life- oooh and nice job for getting your eating on track again. kudos to you for bouncing back so quikcly!

I have totally neglected the daily plate as well. bad bad bad. *sigh* whatever-here is to a fresh start!

Nighrunner, I am back at fiday today and logging my food intake. It gives me a great sense of achievement and keeps me on track about how many calories I am eating per day.

My doc called the eye infection a 'nasty virus' coz it apparently takes weeks to go. I am on track with the meds (have to put in every four hours, so when I put the drops, i break for a snack too hahaha! :)) Feeling much better today, the fever is gone too so I am back at work. I hope this week just flies by.

Later.

best of luck

Hello Juni ,

I am also from India. I am based in Pune. Was just browsing thru your diary. Best of luck with your weight loss routine.

Hey Juni

I hate it when lots of things are going wrong! I sympathise with you.

Hopefully your healthy eating will mean that your eye mends quicker than the dr thinks

Good idea to get back to the calorie counting.

Later.

:iagree: It's it funny how our moods get better as Friday approaches! I hope the rest of the week flies by too! Glad you are feeling better. Keep busy and the weekend will be here before you know it! Keep that positive attitude up!

Quite satisfied with the food intake today:

B'fast- Muesli and yogurt
Snack- cucumbers and yogurt
Lunch-basmati rice with zucchini, spinach, cauliflower and pickled radishes
Snack- cucumbers and some chips (guilty!)
Dinner-roti, leftover veggies from lunch, three small choc chip cookies (they were about 40 cal each)
Snack-two crackers and cheese

Ok, perhaps I was not that great in my food choices (could've avoided the cookies and chips but I'll get there). Im back to countign calories and I am well within my allowed calories for the day.

:drool5:yummm pickled radishes sound so good! I have never seen those but I love everything pickled!!

They are amazing. Was given to me by a friend whose mother makes them at home. It has turmeric, mustard seed, tibetan herbs and little bit of pepper (i love the fact that it is just the right amount of spicy- don't like super hot stuff). Some say they taste like Korean kimchi, but methinks it tastes waaay better. Must get recipe from her. I have two big jars of them at home, and I try them with my rice whenever I can.

Thanks for your pickle recipe. Gonna try making some when I get back from the States.

Just talked to grandma. She sound soooo much better. I also had a long chat with my mom who says she's doing much much much better. So happy! Can't wait to see grandma's cheerful face this weekend, though. It'll also be a nice break for me.

Hello Juni, I was not able to go through your whole diary yet, but did want to make a point of coming in and saying hello. I wanted to thank you for stopping over in my neighborhood also. I can always use another friend here.

Today's been alright.

B:Muesli, yogurt
Snack-1 guava, 1 apple
Lunch-basmati rice, veggies, lentils, choc chip cookies (too many!)
Snack-two crackers with PB and some cheese
Dinner- 1/2 Apple, 2 guavas, yogurt
Snack-yogurt

Waay below my calorie limit, I know. I think I am a little bit too excited about flying back home tomorrow. Yippie!

Hi RC, thanks for dropping by. As I have mentioned before, your journey sounds amazing, and yes, I could use nudder friend as well. Hope your week's going well.

Glad to hear your grandma is sounding better.

Best wishes for your trip home, hope it is fun (and not too sad).

catch up with you later

Ana

Hello hello everyone,

Grandma much much much better. She lit up when she saw me. :) :) Those 10 seconds made making the 14 hour flight worth it!! It feels so good to be back home with family. And the weather is goooooregous!! Makes me so totally happy.

And I have been RUNNING!!!!! I had an amazing W3D1 run just now. I have a couple of more days with family and then I fly back again.

Where's everyone? Its kinda dead and quiet.

Thats so nice Juni, I'm glad everything is ok at home...

It has been quiet here, I've been busy working etc, just grabbing a few moments now to catch up with everyones diaries.

I'm just downloading w4, I found w3 pretty hard at first (the second 3min....eek) but its ok now.

anyways I bet you won't want to go back to India in a hurry, its so nice seeing family! Are they cooking lots of yummy food for you?

Ana

I'm kinda frustrated right now. I am stuck on 132lbs for over three weeks now. WTF? Been running and really watching what I eat. This is making me really annoyed. I was 132lbs for over three years before I started gaining weight a few months back. Is this what they mean by hitting a plateau?

Anna, family has been cooking yummy stuff, but at least I know the kind of food I am eating at home. Plus my mom is REALLY careful about how she cooks- everyone eats really healthy in my family. Also, I haven't had the temptation to eat sugar so much because Im having fresh fruits and honey everyday. Yum! I will be really sad to leave but I am glad my grams is doing so well. I leave tomorrow. :( :(

I think I need to set mini goals for myself to get past 132lbs.

1) Absolutely no sugar!!
2) Stick to running- get as much exercise as possible- walking, running, dancing, yoga the works
3) Cut carbs, eat more protein, more fruits and veggies.
4) Drink MORE WATER- I drink about 2 liters a day, but I feel like that's not enough.
5) Don't skip meals.

Hi Juni,
Glad to hear your grandma is doing better and everything at home is good. Are you planning on going back again for Christmas? I'm assuming no since it's a 14 hour flight and probably really expensive!!!
It sounds like you have hit a plateau, have you been taking your measurements? Do your clothes fit better? I'm not sure what advise to give because it sounds like your doing everything right expect maybe up the water - I try to drink at least 3 litres a day and usually have no problem. I would try swithcing up your exercise routine and really pushing yourself in the gym - shock your body a bit.
Otherwise keep it up you are doing great! Safe travels back to India.

oh my! u were in the states! how was ur trip? How is your grandma?

It must have been nice to see you family!! too bad you couldnt stay for a longer period of time though eh?

Im totally with you! im stuck at 154 and cant seem to budge :( at least we arent gaining though right!?

Im super excited for you!!! week 3 c35k!! way to go!

hope you had a safe trip back :)

Just had a amazing W3D2 run. Feels really good. Been eating ok too. My folks eat really healthy stuff, so it has been amazing. Gonna miss home when I go back to India.

CG- Yes, I will be coming back again in Christmas and New Years and staying longer. So excited about it already. :) But before that I have to take my GREs (yikes), work on apps for grad school, etc etc. Thanks for your suggestions. I will be drinking more water from now on (drank 3.5 litres today). I love water and can drink more. I will be dancing or doing yoga again from next week. The weather would have (hopefully!) improved when I go back to Delhi, so I can be out more often. It was muggy and disgusting when I left. The last time I took measurements was prolly late sept. Gotta do it today.

Nightrunner, yay!! you are back. You have hit a plateau too? Isn't it the most frustrating thing? Ugh! How's C25k going? School? Other stuff?

I am packing to leave. Really don't wanna go back this time around. I have lived away for so long leaving home has never been a big issue. Not this time around. At least grandma is doing better. I am sooooo happy I made this trip. I was pampered for a week by my 'rents. Met with old friends, went to the city, got some shopping done. Bonded with relatives. Home. :) :) I am flying Friday evening and should be in India the next time I post.

Later!
