A change for life

Went to they gym last night..i was going to take the night off..but I couldn't.

Anyway, ran for 34 minutes for my 5k and then walked for another half hour.

Breakfast was four eggs, Mid Morning snack was roast beef/swiss on mini whole wheat bagel, same for lunch...dinner was a hamburger on aforesaid wheat bagel with tomato and pickel and after run meal was salmon and brown rice with teryake sauce.

Working the late shift today and not sure if I'm heading to the gym, we'll see.

Weighed 218 yesterday too!

Holy Shit! 6.85 miles of running in 1hour 15mins. I'm exhausted but damn I feel good. Ate well today too. Drank all my water. To tired to write more.

Cheers!

Took Friday off and went to the gym on Saturday. Ran 6.2 miles in 63:30 and felt absolutely great. Haven't eaten real good the past few days, but I rarely do on the weekend anyway. I'm thinking I'll hit the gym today and run 5 miles or so. I'm excited since I had never run a 10k until last thursday, and then I did another yesterday. My legs feel great and it's quite invigorating to see people look at me on the treadmill and then look at the clock. Yeah, that's right, I can run for a long time ;-)

My running log last week:
Sat 4.1 mi
Sun 4.1 mi
Mon 3 mi
tues 6.3 mi
wed 3.1
thur 6.85

3.5 miles on the treadmill today. Off to make some chicken breast on the grill. 87 degrees on a beautiful WNY weekend. What a day....

Took a few days off from running those long runs this past week. Last posted on Sunday the 5th. I didn't totally go into hibernation though, just kept the running at small chunks and did more walking than running that's all. I felt beat all last week and looking back at my running log I know why ;-)

Anyway, I did manage to do a 60 min run for 5.7 miles tonight and the rest really did me good because I didn't feel tired, weak nor was I gasping for air. It's really amazing how the body adapts and can increase it's ability to accomplish workouts. I've been doing pushups to help start tightening my chest. I'm still fighting the urge to start resistance training again. Why fight it you ask? B/C I really want to achieve my weight loss goal before I start adding muscle back on. I just really get motivated by the weight loss and it keeps me going strong.

Ate well today, cereal for breakfast, chicken breast and potatoes for lunch, and a portabello mushroom with tomato on whole wheat bun. Good stuff.... Here's to another day of making life better.

I've beena bum

Well, this past week was full of setbacks, all my own fault, struggling with consistency I guess...

I ran tonight for the first time since last monday. I did run for an hour straight, 5.75 miles and walked until I hit 6.2 miles and just over a 1000 cals. I am hovering right at 220 again thanks to a week of poor food choices and some late night happy hours. I worked a ton last week and had some events that I can't speak of right now that weighed heavily on my mind. Still some stress going on, but that's why I am glad I hit the gym tonight. I ate well today and plan on eating well tomorrow. I can only do one day at a time and always seem to forget that.

Well, I'm off to relax. Hope everyone else is still fighting the good fight. Night.

4.25 total miles today. Ran for 35mins and walked the rest of the way. At well, 5 eggs for breakfast, a chicken breast and cherry tomatoes for lunch and a big bowl of cereal for dinner. I feel pretty good. I want to get up and run in the morning tomorrow, got to change it up and get off that treadmill for awhile.

I've been struggling with consistency the last couple of weeks. Not just with working out, but with eating as well. Too many excuses ya know? It's so easy to forget what your working for as life hands all those "little" things at you. I've been being a bum and letting those little things keep me from the big picture. I still want to be under 200lbs by thanksgiving and I really need to focus to get that done. I can do it, just need to be consistent.

Two days off from running. Was going to go last night, but my battery died. Anyway, after replacing the battery I was back at it. I ran my usual 60 mins at a 5.8 mile pace...kicked it up to 6.5 for the last ten minutes. Feel really good. Weighed in at 210 after my run. Feel really good. How low can I go? We'll see!

5.8 miles again. Getting easier. Had a guy in the gym tell me he didn't recognize me at first and that felt good. I gave myself a setback this weekend. I went to a beer tent on Saturday night and ate like crap on Sunday for my Fantasy Draft. The moral of the story is that I am my own worst enemy. Consistency, Consistency is the key. I did well today, but didn't eat breakfast

I'm getting a tooth implant tomorrow so I took the whole day off :jump:

I'm gonna sleep good tonight!

My implant went well. I ran 5 miles today and ate well. Probably will be close to 210 tomorrow (weight is fluctuating) I think I am going to lift tomorrow and take the day off from running, but I might just run again as well. Let's see how tomorrow's late shift goes..maybe I'll surprise myself and get up and run outside..who the hell knows? ;-) Should be under 210 this week sometime...I think...I hope...I'll try..........

You are doing awesome dave. I'm starting my running again tomorrow so we should both hit 200 at the same time if you keep doing what you're doing and I stop being lazy.

After taking yesterday off I went back to the gym today. I felt pretty good and refreshed. I hit the treadmil for an hour and got my 6.0 miles run. I'm currently at 210 and expect to be under that after my shower tomorrow. I'm eating three meals a day, breakfast, lunch, pre-gym dinner. Staying away from most of the bad stuff and drinking my water. My 38" jeans are falling off and I'm still getting daily comments about the way I look and have even had people asking me for advice. It's funny when people ask you what you've been doing and I reply "I've been doing this new thing called diet and exercise, it's a novel concept" :rotflmao:

Anyway, I look forward to making my goal of 200lbs by the end of September. I think the weight loss will really start to show as I get closer to that mark and below.

Back to the weights!!!

Well after a very well deserved holiday break from work I went back to the gym. I was a lazy gym rat over the weekend and stayed away and instead cleaned house, watched movies, hung around outside and pretty much relaxed my way back into work.

Today I hit the gym and lifted for the first time in few months. I did some chest/back lifts and it didn't take long at all to exhaust my muscles. I look forward to a very sore day tomorrow, the good sore. Anyway, came home got my protein shake and am now getting ready for bed. I'm gonna run tomorrow night and am thinking about doing some HIIT interval training. I may forgo that though and do a long run just to keep my endurance up. Who knows, I'll figure it out tomorrow.

Boy was I sore this morning ;-) It's the good sore....
Got up early and had a big breakfast, 6 eggs and two pieces of toast..yum
Made my lunch which was a roast beef and swiss wrap with light miracle whip and fresh tomato.

Dinner wasn't all that good though...finishing off some Labor day food (chips and dip, Italian sausage on a bun and two slices of fresh Zucchini bread.

Went to the gym, ran 45 minutes for 4 miles and then walked another 20 minutes to cool down. Hit the sauna and showered and felt good.

Now I am home just relaxing before bed. I love how I sleep after spending time in the sauna...good stuff...

Plan for another big breakfast tomorrow and don't think I'm making it to the gym..working the late shift and football starts tomorrow night!!!! Good stuff..I may surprise myself and hit the gym in the morning..not likely..but who knows?

Anyway...I feel good things coming down the pipe...........tomorrow will be one year since joining this forum I think...wow...

Well I took Thurs/Friday off to recover and hit the gym today for a nice shoulder and bicept workout. Ran 2 miles in 20 mins and just got done eating some cottage cheese, fresh cherry tomatoes and some water melon. I've drank plenty of water today, easy to do when it's 90 degrees outside.

Going to a party tonight...i might drink :beerchug: but all things in moderation.

Til tomorrow...FOOTBALL!!!

Anyway....

Today was a good day, just ran, but ran 3.1 miles in 31:45

Yesterday I worked out with my brother Ted, did chest and tricepts. Will workout tomorrow and probably run another 3.1mi.

Well, that's it for today..gotta get to bed....

wow..been a few weeks since I posted.
Anyway. tonight I ran for 3.2 miles and walked another .8 to reach 4 miles. I want to get in 100 miles this month and eat right. I've been slacking on my diet and eating what I want for the past couple of weeks. Not what you want to do if you wanna lose weight.

Yeah, breaks are nice...but they should be short ;-)

Anyway, yesterday I hit the gym, ran 3.1 in 30:35 and then walked for another 25 mins. 4.2 total miles yesterday, brings me to 8 miles so far this month. Will do it again tonight after work.
