A change for life

Do you do push-ups? I've been doing at least 25 a day since the 11th and let me tell you push-ups = the man boob killer. My arms and chest have started getting really tight.

Oh and if you are in need of a new workout playlist, music is my life so let me know what kind of music you are into and I will make you the greatest workout playlist in the history of man.

I've always told myself to start doing pushups. I'll start. When do you do them? Morning or night?

As for music, I'm a big classic rock kind of guy, but am really always open to suggestions. Shoot what you consider some kick ass music for lifting/running over to me and I'll test them out.

The great thing about push-ups is that you can do them literally anywhere. I'll usually do 25 before I workout and 25 after but whenever the urge hits me i'll just drop down and knock out 25. I have to go to work today but i'll make a playlist for you tonight.

Good day eating and running.
Had a bowl of cereal for breakfast, a turkey burger with guacamole/salsa for lunch and a chicken breast with mustard and tomato on whole wheat bread for dinner. I drank my water today and got 3 miles run around the neighborhood. All in all quite nice.

I set my alarm for 5:30 this morning and got up and turned it off. Ended up getting up around 7. Still working towards getting up and running in the morning to start my day. This week will be the week it happens!

Real funny thing happened with my weight on the scale this weekend. On Saturday after working in the yard all day, I took a shower and weighed 225lbs. I was thrilled. Then I had a few too many beers, woke up late on Sunday, laid by the pool, ate pizza, napped and took a shower and I weighed in at 235lbs. Moral of the story...don't be lazy and eat pizza ;-)

Here is a playlist for ya.

Baba O'Riley - The Who
Edge of Seventeen - Stevie Nicks
Thriller - Fall Out Boy
Faster - Third Eye Blind
Cobrastyle - Robyn
This Is Why I Rock - Mims
Breathing - Yellowcard

Throw Some D's - Rich Boy (Travis Barker Remix)
Paralyzer - Finger Eleven

I put in a few classic rock songs and then threw in some songs I like to listen to during my workouts.

Tusk, You're the best!

AS for the rest of my lifestyle changing...

I got up and ran this morning!!!!! 5:45am, had coffee with my neighbor before he went to work and then I got on my running shoes and started going. It's 7 am now, I'm having breakfast and updating my running log. Short distance today, only 2.5 miles, but ran it pretty fast I think. I need to get a new battery for my sports watch

Note on breakfast..
I've been eating cereal b/c I'm a lazy s#|% and don't want to go thru the hassle even though I have eggs coming out my a$$ anyway....I measured the cereal for 3/4 a cup...damn that's a small amount. thankfully I'm not too hungry after running, just know I need breakfast...

Everyone have a great day! Thanks again Tusk!

Well I got up again to run this morning...it's gonna be a hot one in WNY.

Another 2.5 miles and it hurt just a bit. I didn't want to go running. I got up at 6:30 and was off and running by 7. Glad I got it done though and I feel good. I need to eat breakfast yet.

Yesterday...
Ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast.
A banana before I left for work.
A nice healthy chicken salad (chicken, romaine, tomatoes, and red, yellow, green peppers no salad dressing for lunch
For dinner I had another salad, this time with the dressing. and just to get my calories up to where they need to be, I had an ice cream sandwich ;-) just 150 calories...gotta love light in fit stuff from Aldi

No pushups yesterday Tusk....forgot...but I was sore from the ones I did, so I better hop to it eh?

Have a great day ....

You're doing better then I am this week. I've been like a vacuum when it comes to food. Hey no worries on the push-ups if your body is sore then take the day off. I didn't do any yesterday either because my stomach muscles were tired from eating so much.

Another 2.5 mile run this morning and it felt the best of them all. I walked extra 1.5 miles last night too. I ate a bigger breakfast that usual. 5 eggs and a mini whole wheat bagel for a total of 470 cals. I'm out of lettuce, so I'll take some shrimp and veggies to work today. Don't have to work til 11:30, it's my late shift day. Kinda of bored and just reading thru some people's diary's.

Does anyone ever feel like there not quite doing enough for their weight loss? I feel like I'm in a groove. I'm not focusing all my energy on diet and exercise, just kinda making it apart of the lifestyle. It's gonna be a long beautiful weekend here in Buffalo, Sunny and low 70's. I might just go hiking somewhere new and forget about digging in my yard this weekend. I don't know...

7:30 am and I'm done with my 2.5 mile run. Felt the best yet of them all. I think it's because I went to bed last night at 9:30 when it was still light out side. Anyway, was up at 5:30 and running by 7 am.

Yesterday Food:
Coffee with French V. cream (bad I know, but can't cut it all out) 40 cals per serving at 6 servings 240 Cals

Snack: 150-200 cals (Large banana)

Total: 1550 Calories

Did 25 pushups this morning too...

Well gotta go..."when all is said and done, there's nothing left to say or do"

Woo hoo...Good monday morning to you all.

I finally got a watch battery so I can time my run. I did my 2.5 in 24:45 this morning, a 6 mph pace (10 min mile) so I'm happy with that. It was chilly here, probably high forty's, so I put on sweats and boy did I sweat...not a good idea, no matter how cold, since when the sun came out it was warm.

Anyway, drinking my coffee and eating breakfast. The mornings go by so fast. It seems the earlier I get up the faster the day goes by. Should be a slow day at work and hopefully I get to take off early tomorrow. I have a long road trip to W. Lafayette Ind for family fourth of july, too bad it's an 8.5 hour trip. Guess I'll pack my dinner and snack for the trip.

So I weighed 222lbs yesterday after I got done working on my gravel path back to my shed. I had a few beers and ate late last night, so I probably undid all the good I'd done for the day. I have to find a way to not overdue it this week. There's gonna be tons of food and beer and late nights. I'll try and stay good, but I only get to see these guys once or twice a year and I just really let go...I guess it's ok right?

If it isn't hard to do, it isn't worth doing...

Everyone have a good day....!!!!

UPDATE! You better be running because i'm catching up to you. I'm at 17.97 miles right now.

Been on vacation, drank too much beer, ate too much good/bad stuff and didn't run....boy oh boy is my body gonna hurt when I start this week back on track...I hear two a-days coming up....

7-16-07 and I'm back!!!! Finally, up and running again. What a week last week, fourth of July Weekend, neighbors party this last weekend and again with the beer and good eats...oh well. Starting a new program that calls for 2 a-days running. Did 3 miles this morning in 30 minutes and will do another 30 mins tonight. 28 straight days. Work is taking me to Baltimore for a day next week and that will mess things up just a bit, but I think I can run on the road, why the hell not right? Just take my gear and get up and go...Any ideas on what to do with the cake and cookies my neighbor gave me????? Maybe I'll just take them to work and let the guys go at em, can't have the temptation around.

Bought a bunch of clothes that fit yesterday and feel great. Even though I've been slacking the past 2 weeks, people are really complimenting me lately. Wonder what there gonna say now that I have clothes that fit?? ;-)

Good day to all...

they're gonna say you look dynamite :) it's always good to have clothes that fit :)

If you're in the inner harbor area in Baltimore - there's lots of great places to take a jog as long as it doesnt rain... it's really a lovely area now - and have lots and lots of fresh crab :D

Did a 2 mile walk tonight..was going to go to the gym...butttt...........pfft.

Anyway, thanks for the advice Mal, now I'm looking forward to a nice run in a different state ;-)

3 mile run yesterday...3 mile run this morning.

Weighed in at 221 lbs after the shower...

People at work giving me compliments daily....

So close to my goal I can taste it....

Not a bad feeling for a Wednesday eh???

Monday night and it was raining so I went to the gym and got my run done there. The gym is getting a huge facelift and they have new awesome treadmills with the touch screens and stuff. Felt really good running on them too! I did 45 minutes of running which is just over 4 miles. Really funny thing happened, I was at about 39 minutes and I kept finding myself thinking about wearing the next pair of smaller pants (I'm 27, shouldn't I be fantasizing about something else ;-) and a good song came on and I guess I started running faster and I ran right into the emergency stop button and it mad me sooo mad...but now I think it's funny..so I restarted everything and finished up....anyway...

A day doesn't go by now without someone saying how good I look. It's funny, but it seems like I lost my first 35 lbs and nobody really said too much...now the last ten must have been the big "difference" since I hear it everyday...it's such great motivation.

Well, I'm off to Baltimore tomorrow for a work event and it's going to be busy, but I am going to do my best to get my runs in. I just can't stop now. I want 200lbs by the end of August and I know I can do it if I follow my plan. Here's to the challenge :beerchug:

Been a weeks since I posted huh? Anyway, Baltimore was great, but really busy so no time to run. I got back to the Gym to run on Saturday (4.1 miles) and Sunday (another 4.1)

Had plans for running this morning, but I'm lazy, so I have my bag packed ready for the gym when I get off work.

Weighed 220lbs this morning. 45lbs gone. Now, to keep to my goal which is hard to do this month (big ole county fair) and some plans for camping and trip to Albany as well. I can do it though. I originally wanted to be 200 by the end of august, but I'll take 210, which is hard enough for a month, but if I keep up on the running and watching my food intake, I'll make it.

Off to another day at work...

Ran for 30 minutes yesterday and walked for another 30.
Today however, I ran and ran and ran. I was on the treadmill for 70 minutes. I ran all but 3 of those minutes at a 5.5mph pace. Racked up 6.3 miles for my first ever 10k!!! Didn't expect to run like that, I just did.

Ate well, had 4 eggs for breakfast, a egg sandwich for mid morning snack, a salad with Chicken breast for Lunch, strawberrys pound cake and cool whip for dinner ;-) lol and after my run I had a protein bar.

I weighed 219 this morning! I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning and see where I'm at. July is over and I want to at least lose nine pounds this month. It'll be hard, but it is achievable.

Cheers!
