Hi. My name is Geoff (pernounced Jeff if you've never seen the spelling
), I live in Dayton, Ohio and I'm 23 years old. I just recently joined this forum and web site and I'm looking forward to helping and getting help from all of you. My current stats are that I'm 5'9", 270lbs. My target weight I would like to get down to is 200lbs. So it's gonne be a long journey, but I'm determined to make it. I've tried dieting and exercising before and It never last very long, and whatever weight I would lose doing it, I would almost immediately gain back and then gain another 5 added on to what I was at from the start. Now I've been reading over the forums and trying to get ideas, and I am implying some of them, and them I'm mixing a routine of my own in.
But background kinda on how I got to be where I am. I've always been a kinda big guy. In Highschool I was the same height (5'9") and weighed about 200-205lbs. I was comfotable with that. I was still a little self conscious about my weight, but I think everyone always has a little bit of that. My diet was never really healthy tho. Junk food with the occasional somewhat good4u dinner with the family, but that didnt happen to often. So as I got older and moved out on my own, all I ever ate was fast food, pretty much 3 meals a day. And when I say meals, it was usually like 2 meals. Probably like an extra value meal and another double cheeseburger with it and an apple pie. ALOT OF CALORIES. And for 3 meals a day, yah you do the math, I'm suprised im not 470 instead of 270. Mostly tho that didnt start til I was 21 when a longtime girlfriend left me for another guy and broke my heart, but thats for a different forum
. So to get back to the point my diet has just been horrible with little to no exercise.
Really for my size (270lbs) I'm looking to see if what I've done for the past couple days is going to work. I would like some feedback from everyone to see if this is the way to go. I'd especially like to hear from some people who were close to the weight I'm currently and (male of female) and dropped it down a bit. So here is my efforts thus far.
Week 1
270lbs Day: 1 Wednesday January 4, 2006
Breakfast- 1 bowl of oatmeal
Lunch- Bologna Sandwich w/Mustard and a bag of pretzels
Dinner- Lean Cuisine (290 calories)
Exercise-Ran for 25 minutes
FYI: I'm also quitting smoking starting on this day
Day: 2 Thursday January 5, 2006
Breakfast-Bowl of Oatmeal w/Raisens
Lunch-Turkey Sandwich on whole wheat w/ Mustard and bag of baby carrots
Dinner-Bowl of Grape Nuts(1% Milk) w/ Strawberries(2), dill pickle Snack- 4 Hard Boiled Eggs
Exercise-( None, it was raining

Day: 3 Friday January 6, 2006
Breakfast-Bowl of Grape Nuts(1% Milk) w/ Bannanas
Lunch-Turkey Sandwich on Whole wheat w/Mustard and Carrots
Dinner-Grilled Chiken, Steamed Brocoli, Rice Pilaf w/ tomatoes
Snack- 1 single chicken wing >.<, Handful of Grapenuts, and 4 spoonfuls of Cottage Cheese.
