50 Pounds to Subaru Journal

I'm glad ya'll are here, because I am getting frustrated. I feel like my body is breaking the laws of physics here. I am doing so good on both eating and exercise, and I feel like I'm getting nowhere.

But, I just have to be. There is no way this can carry on forever like this. Everybody talked about the dreaded "plateau" and I guess I didn't really believe it until now.

I have been hovering around 202 for 9 days now. I have decided by the end of the week I will be down to my scheduled 201.3 or by golly, I'll go donate blood or get a haircut or whatever drastic, temporary proceedure I have to do!
 
lol.. aww poor LB! My valuable lesson for the day: research your eating out food before you eat it. 1 serving of Don Pueblo Fajita = 1700 calories!! Oh. my. god. :eek:

Your list is great, and it just proves how much of this really is about learning. But don't go cutting off toes to make weigh in... that's kind of frowned apon..lol

Relax gals. Sometimes yr stress hormones will affect yr weightloss too. Take it cool yah. I didn't lose weight my first week here but 2nd week i started to loose some. Did some variation on treadmill and weights too. Maybe u can try if it works. Hv fun!
 
It amazes me how I can be super dedicated one day and ultra frustrated the next.

And is the rule officially "dont cut off anything that won't grow back"?

Hang in there LB - it's frustrating but so worth it in the end. How was your day?
 
I feel like it's been forever since I've posted.

I just accidentally took a 4 hour nap. Fell asleep on the love sac - when I wake up it's dark. (If you've never sat on a love sac, they're amazing. It's like a 6 foot bean bag: )

I realized today that my way of eating has changed. Not only are my portions smaller, but the actual food I eat has almost changed entirely from 7 weeks ago. Now I eat a salad almost daily, I've introduced fish, eggs, cottage cheese, fruit. I never ate any of those things before. I eat easily 80% less fast food - and when I do eat fast food I get a smaller portion than before. I haven't had french fries in almost 2 months! I can't believe it! When I go to the grocery store I find myself almost exclusively walking down the dairy, meats, and produce areas instead of the boxed-noodely-stuff, mexican, or snack aisles.

After reintroducing cardio to the level it was at before the number on the scale started marching downward again. I'm still around the same I have been for the past 9 days, but the trend is back down again.

I think I'm going to take some time and journal all the different kinds of foods I've come to love these past weeks - to help remind me what different kinds of things to eat when I am hungry.
 
(p.s. - that's amusing, i didn't read the URL title for the lovesac website until after I posted the message. "It's like a 6 foot bean bag!: Love sac: It's not a bean bag!"
 
Oh my gosh - we went and got my dad lunch today and he and his coworker got some fries to go with their lunch. I was gagging to death cause they smelled like wet dog to me!! But my mom said they smelled sooo yummy. lol. Funny how eating better can seem to change your whole body chemistry.

It's crazy!

The other weird thing I've noticed is how much less I'm spending on food! I used to spend $6-15 a day on fast food. y'know, you may as well get the combo, with the huge drink, etc. Lately though i'll just order the sandwich, and the smaller sized ones are almost always on the dollar menu. I'll go get fast food and spend like $1-2. Crazy.
 
ooo - you can take the money you used to spend on fast food and save up for a whole new goal weight wardrobe!!
 
Yahoo!!! I didn't go up over the weekend! Still at 201.2. Today I'm gonna be extra good and see if that doesn't start to push me down again.

I'm also going to see if there is some way to post my excel charts for ya'll to see. On my chart I have the line of my goal weight, then my actual weights and the moving averages on my actual weight. I have been getting nervous lately because I'm inching closer and closer to my goal line. Today I'm .9 lbs under, and I've only ever been that close twice before.

I included notes on what was going on during the september chart. You can clearly see what things affect my weight. I started the chart and got really motivated, then I went on a women's retreat out of town, and gained some.

Then, I went to visit my pastor who is dying of a brain tumor to say our goodbye's. Gained a TON that weekend.

After that, whatever I had lost in water weight must have come back, because I jumped up 4.8 lbs in a day and have been losing steadily ever since.
