50 Pounds to Subaru Journal

Hello congrats on doing some yoga is it anything
like kamasutra? Lol you have to be a pretzle to
bend in such positons. 1 thing that is weird out of
the blue I decided to see if I still had it in me but
I did a back bend from stand up position and didn't
keel over! My mom made me take tap ballet and gymnastics
as a chubby child for like 8 yrs!
Anyhoot keep up the good work and the scale will be your
friend in the morning NAKED lol! Have a good 1 Tammy

I just took a peek at that costume, you are going to look super HOT in that! I like it!

Yoga sounds like fun, I've been thinking about giving it a try. There are two yoga places right down the street from my house. I may give it a try.

<blush> Thanks, I hope so.

I had a big day at work, so not much posting.

I am rediscovering my love of sea food, and it is so calorie-cheap! Unfortunately, it's also rather money-expensive!

Today worked out kind of oddly for me. I ate a little bit of cottage cheese for breakfast, and packed a salad + cottage cheese for lunch. I didn't get to eat my lunch until 1 (almost 2 hours late for me) so I was starving and overate by indulging in some popcorn. Then, since I knew I had school and a gym class, I ate again at 4, and then just now at 10. I ended up a little higher in calories than would have hoped, but not terrible.

I worked out a ton today, so I think I'm going to take tomorrow entirely off. It will be the first time in 40 days I haven't gotten up early to work out. I sincerely hope it doesn't mean I'm starting to slack off.

U'll do fine. Listen to yr body and rest if you need it. Hope u feel better soon!:D

Why yes, I am into anime :) The Subaru of my "50 Pounds to Subaru" is a lady from an anime show called .hack//sign, and also my avatar. I am planning to wear her costume to an anime convention next April.

I didn't start to enjoy anime until I was 20. The thing is, in Japan, animation isn't necessarily a kids thing. There are kid shows, certainly, but also comedy, drama, romance, action, etc - as many different genres as there are for live action shows.

The costuming after anime (called cosplay) is also a rather large thing. For anybody that might happen to be interested, has beautiful examples of a talented cosplayer named Yaya Han.

Yeap..Jap are real good in this area. They hang out during weekends at a local hangout with their costumes too! THo some are kinda scary looking...:p

Here's something to pass time... hahahaha:D

LAMENT! 7 days and about the same weight. And I've done better the last 7days than ever before! It's as though there were an invisible barrier set up at 201.6 that repels my scale!

The only difference I can figure is that I added strength training. Does adding muscle really make this big of a difference? I know they say muscle has more mass, but I never really believed it would mess with my scale numbers. And after only a week?

OK, so I feel a ton better, I just measured my waist and I'm nearly down another inch, so I won't give up yet, I'm just frustrated. I try not to live by the scale, but COMMON!

Yep it takes a week... and then in another week or two, u'll lose a few pounds. That according to my experience. So hang on there, keep up with yr workout! U r doing great!

Inches are sooo much more important than the scale, it means your shrinking! Yay!!! Congrats in the inch!!

I am so freakin' awesome! I was on my way back to work after running some errands, and decided I was starving. So I decided to go to Arby's.

I have my nutritional info in the car, so I started to figure out what I was going to have. I decided I was going to splurge today and aim for 1600 calories, and indulge in some potato cakes and a beef 'n' cheddar sandwich (all told, about 700 calories).

After I decided on this, i thought i may as well just go with an arby's melt and the potato cakes - after all, it's just a smaller version of the same thing! Down to 550 calories.

Then I decided I may as well go with the hot ham & cheese, bigger sandwich for fewer calories, down to 500.

Then I talked myself out of the potato cakes, reasoning that I had popcorn at the office. So I talked myself down from a 700 calorie meal down to a 300 calorie meal. And I ate it all, and loved every bite. Best part - I'm full. Don't even need the popcorn.

Yay me!

Hey thats so great!! And you ended up not even feeling like you were missing anything

(I have the same plateau prob as you last week. Hoping to do better this week. I theory I only weigh on mondays, can't help sneaking a peak some other times too tho!! But I'm only gonna write it down+take notice of it on mondays!!)

Hope you manage to shift a couple of pounds this week :) Well done for progress so far!

Woot! YAY you! lol
We all need to learn that the scale isn't the only way to see how we've progressed :) We gotta remember to keep measuring cause that's really gonna show how hard we're working it out!

You're doing awesome girl! You are gonna be at your goal in no time!

Woohooo!! I did that today too.. I was craving an ooiegooie chocolate cream cheese brownie... but then I thought - hmmm a fresh baked muffin sounds better! So I go into the bakery and they have just the tops - so I get that instead of a whole one & a cup of coffee. Got my sweet treat and it was only 270 cals.

Anyway - Hi! :D

Well - I feel a bit off now. Yesterday I ended up slipping and having a hamburger, ending my day at nearly 2000 calories.

And yesterday was the first day in over a month that I haven't worked out at all.

Well, back on the bandwagon today! I won't try to overcompensate for yesterday, my body needed a rest badly.

Hi there LB.. sometimes you just have to listen to your body. Maybe you needed the rest day and splurge more than you think you did. But Today is a new one and I hope you're doing great!! :D:D

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm back on track today!

It's kind of hard to wrap my mind around: Today is the first day of the 7th week of my new lifestyle. I'm firmly out of "getting started" and well into "continuing weight loss"

I've never made it out of "getting started" before!

So my little slip up wasn't an occasion for me to "start over" today, it's just another learning experience in my continuing weight loss. Too weird.

Ya know - I didn't realise it but yesterday was my 1 month anniversary of making the change. Wow!! Time flies as it creeps by sometimes. Guess that dream the other night was my anniversay party! lol

I've never made it out of the 'just starting' phase either.

Llamabean, It's okay to slip up once in a while, the body needs it, it doesn't need to be told that its on a diet. But its good that you're back on track. :)

Whew! What a workout I just had! I haven't been pushing as hard in the cardio, and I think that's what my problem has been.

OK, so here are the lessons I'm putting together here:

1) 1300 calories is about where I need to be
2) Cardio is darned important. Every. Day.
3) If my fast food guide doesn't include a food, don't guestimate on what looks similar.
4) It's OK to be hungry.

That last one is a revelation to me. I've very rarely ever been hungry. And I dont mean starving, I mean from one meal to the next style. I've always just snacked or whatever between meals.

If I nail these 4 things for the next week, I bet I'll start to see that scale drop again.
