50 lbs Down & 50 to Go!

Lost a pound on 1500 calories and 75 minutes of exercise.

I've lost 11.2 pounds so far this week, but most of the weight loss came in the first 3 days. It looks like my metabolism rate adjusts to the lower calories after about 3 days, but when I rotate to 1800 calories again it will boost back up. I am thinking about switching to 1800 on the 7th day of weeks 1 and 3.

1st Week:

Alternate between 1200 and 1500 calories for 6 days then 1800.

2nd Week:

Next 7 days 1800/1500 calorie alternation

3rd Week:

Alternate between 1200 and 1500 calories for 6 days then 1800.

4th Week:

Next 7 days 1500 increased by 100 calories
per day to 2100 calories per day

You can't go a week without tinkering with your diet. How can anyone follow what you are doing if you keep changing it every week?

I lost 8 lbs. in the first 3 days of the week on 1200/1500 rotation, then lost only 3 lbs. the next 3 days. It appears that my metabolism begins to adjust to the lower calories after 3 days and after 6 days I stop losing weight unless I exercise for about 2 hours. Consequently I am going to change to the following rotation and see what happens in the 2nd and 3rd weeks.

1st Week:

Alternate between 1200 and 1500 calories for 6 days then 1800.

I have lost 60 pounds in the past 3 months. So my average is about 20 lbs. a month. Last week I lost 10 lbs. I am shooting for a 3 lb. loss this week on a 1800/1500 rotation and a 25 lb. loss for this month.

I have decided to modify my rotation diet again.

Here is the new rotation:

1st Week:

Alternate between 1200 and 1500 calories for 7 days.

2nd Week:

Next 7 days 1500 increased by 100 calories
per day to 2100 calories per day

3rd Week:

Alternate between 1200 and 1500 calories for 7 days.

4th Week:

60lbs in 90 days is .67 lbs per day! That's craziness!

Keep up the good work!

Yes the rotation diet really works well for me. The key is to keep your metabolism rate up.

Although others think I have lost it fast, it seems painfully slow to me, but this new rotation is something that I can do long term.

I can't wait for my diet days to be behind me.

Oh no not another modification. How can you measure the effectiveness of your modifications if you change your diet every week?

Lost 2.2 lbs. On 1600 calories and 50 minutes of exercise.

I am very pleased with this weight loss on my new second week rotation since my goal for the week is a 3 pound loss and I am almost already just two days into my second week rotation. I will have 1700 calories today and increase my exercise to 120 minutes. I walked for 30 minutes yesterday and swam for 20 minutes. Swimming seems to be very effective in burning calories. Also I ate more fruit (2 servings of grapefruit) and fewer almonds. I had a hamburger for lunch. I am now only 5 pounds away from a 70 pound weight loss. I expect to be down 70 pounds by Tuesday of next week.

Free the rotation diet really works, its crazy, i think your losing ALOT of weight, any more and it would be unhealthy:) well done

Thanks Irishprincess!

I haven't met my weight loss goals, but I am getting closer with my new rotation. My diet is fairly well balanced. I am just eating small portions especially on the 1200 calorie days, but I only have 6 to 8 1200 calorie days out of the 28 day rotation. Health wise I am feeling better and better as I lose the weight.

Actually I stuck to my diet last week and I modified the 2nd week rotation before the start of the 2nd week so I have a new rotation established for the entire 4 week rotation so we will see how it works out, but I can tell you already that this diet is much more comfortable for me long term and it looks like I can lose 20 to 25 lbs. per rotation on it, but the most important point is that I can stick to it long term for however long it takes to lose another 40 lbs. Thereafter I will be looking to tone up, firm up and get down to High School weight again. I didn't think so then but I was thin then.
