3rd Times a Charm!

Sooo I AM still here, just been a really busy week, and altho I've been posting in the club forum, I haven't had a ton of time to get over here..

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! Had a lot of fun, really didn't drink as much as I thought I would, ate at Red Lobster(NOT the healthy stuff either, lol) but it was good. Besides, I'm getting old, so I can't drink the way I used to

Its bout 230am, so I'm gonna make this a quicker post, just to update this weeks workouts:
Sunday- 30min cardio(15eliptical, 15treadmill) and back
Monday- 15min elip, 15min tread., and legs(bleh!! my legs always feel like jello for days after the leg day)
Tuesday- 15min elip, 15min tread, and chest
Wednesday- 20min eliptical, 15min treadmill, and shoulders.

Food has been pretty friggin good this week- with the exception of nachos at Fuddruckers on Monday- but I haven't gone to Dairy Queen for a blizzard at ALL this week, which for me is amazing cuz well, when its hot I use ice cream as an excuse, lol, but the truth is, I just love ice cream  but I've been eating yogurt if I really need something sweet, and I'm not a yogurt fan, the texture makes me wanna gag, bleh! but I HAVE found a few low fat flavors that will work for the now and then type craving.

So since we've started this competition, I have worked pretty hard- going to the gym five nights a week, eating healthier, taking my vitamins, etc., and I've lost a total of five pounds :( Its so frustrating to see nothing happening when someone as big as me should be losing it a lot faster! But I keep going, because I'm not gonna let a big goose egg shut me down, even if it IS depressing as hell... So anyway, this girl comes into my store today, wants to buy diet pills(shes bout 5ft, 130ish?) and she says shes miserable, because she use to be size ZERO(psh. must be nice) and 100 lbs, which is fairly healthy for her, and then one day, her weight starts going crazy, just gains and gains, even with exercise and diet, and her dr. tells her its her thyroid. She's telling me this stuff and its freakin me out cuz I've never had a problem with losing weight before, and now I get five lbs in like seven weeks?? I'm thinking maybe I'm gonna do some research on thyroid probs, see if I'm crazy or if I might have a problem, cuz nothings happening. And I wanna lose like 30 lbs before Vegas.... Sooo we'll see I guess!

Sorry I missed your birthday Jess! I apologize. :blush5:

Do you track your food on fitday? That helps a lot with droping the pounds I think. I read that people who record their food intake daily lose twice as much weight as people who don't. Going to the Dr and making sure things are ok wouldn't hurt either though.

I'm sure I'd be SHOCKED at what I'm consuming fat and calorie wise if I did this!!!!

Jess hun, I feel your frustration! You are a hard worker no doubt! I would definitely check into the thyroid thing...

I would be interested to see what you are eating too cuz you're killin' it in the gym! Keep your chin up... you'll figure it out (and we're here to help)!

I bring my trusty palm pilot with me EVERYWHERE! I track everything- no joke, we have these chewable fish oils at work(sound creepy, but they are sooo good!!) and each one has 25cals, and I track down to the last chewy fish oil. Fat intake is never really high, calories are between 1500 and 1750 consistently(other than the few screw ups that I have here and there) and I try to eat lots of lean protein and fiber... its just bizarre! I'm just gonna hafta step it up I guess..

So yesterday I DID cheat a bit- went to the China Buffet with my sister, ohhh man! I had like seven crab puffs. And then afterwards, i went to the gym and worked my ass off!! I weigh in tomorrow morning "officially", so we'll see if my one cheat day killed me.

I'm probably going to go out tonight, but I won't be drinking, mostly cuz I can't afford it, but I also don't need it. Ya know how some times you just FEEL like having a few drinks? Eh. Not this weekend... I'm so desperate to see some loss that I'm willing to sacrifice the boozin

Work is killin me right now to. One of my employees is leaving next week for college, and I've had exactly TWO people apply- one is an absolute NO, not a chance, see ya later, and the other one is a football player for Rocky, so he has this crazy ass schedule that would be harder than hell to work around.. I had another guy come in today to get an app and hes BUILT, very personable, think he would be a great sales person, the only thing that bothers me, lol, and this is JUST me being a freaktard, is he shaves his head and he has an uncanny resemblance to a cross between Mr. T and Mr. Clean. Hmm. But if it covers the shifts, I'm willing! :)

Anyway, gonna go dig my little stairstepper outta the closet for this weeks bonus- I have three steps, and I don't think thats gonna work to well, lol.

That's awesome. I wish you were my boss. Hahahahaha Seriously. Good job with the bonus workout this week, you're going to GET IT this week! We all are. Crunch time!!!!!!!!! Not like doing crunches...it's really late. haha Good luck!

So the other night when I went out, I DID drink half of a red beer. So overall, not horrible. When I did my weigh in on Saturday, I was down 1lb, yay! Its moving slower than I'd like, but its moving at least.

Yesterday it was high 90s here, and I sat in my backyeard for about six hours sanding baseboard moldings, lol. I know I've said it before, but I weigh myself alllll the time, can't help it, and last night it said I was down four lbs... I know its just water and that at the end of the week I'll be lucky to drop two lbs, but that four really excited me!
The gym was 30min on the elliptical, 1.87miles, and legs. bleh.

Congrats on the loss! Any movement in the downward direction is good movement in my book. ;)

Happy belated birthday!

Your gym drive makes me jealous! I'm going to try to be as dedicated as you to going, since I just started back...

Girl, I used to weigh myself all the time too... several times a day.... best thing I ever did was put my scale in the basement. I didn't weigh myself as much PLUS I had to walk up and down the stairs if I wanted to weight in lol ha ha.... Every little step counts.... speaking of steps... have you ever used a pedometer? I SWEAR when I used one a couple years ago I was losing weight pretty easily. I plan on going back to it after surgery. I would calculate my workout into my total steps and then, if at the end of the day I hadn't reached my goal, I would literally walk around the living room during commercial breaks!
I just know you eat fairly well and you KICK ASS at the gym... so that makes me wonder if your steps are just too low.... maybe try one if you haven't and don't add any extra steps at first, just see what you do for the next few days. I have a chart that helps calculate how many steps your workouts count for too... just a thought!
I will text ya when I'm out of surgery so you know I'm still alive lol... Take care! :seeya:

Congratulations on the loss! I'm down a pound too, I wish it were moving faster also!!! I'm a big weigh myself all of the time but just reading what Paula wrote above, that makes so much sense. Too bad I don't have a basement, but I really want to get a pedometer.

Anyways, rambling again...keep up the great work!

I knoooowwww I need to not weigh myself all the time, but in my screwed up way, it actually helps me. It sorta keeps me on track thru the week, if theres big fluctuations between two days I know its water, blah blah, that sorta stuff. So I'll probably keep weighing myself like crazy, lol. Theres ups(keepin on track) and downs(watching the water boil just makes it take longer  ), but I'll never quit, no matter how dissapointed I may feel one day or the next :D As for the pedometer- TOTALLY gonna get one when I get paid, just to see what I do. I'm sure I don't do the ten thou normally, unless you count my gym time, so I'm interested in seeing what I need to do to up the pace.

Gym tonight: back; 26min elliptical 1.77miles, 20min treadmill 1.12miles. Pretty decent workout tonight- during cardio I would pick a song on my zune and then pick a pace and do the whole song in that pace- Bobaflex 4minutes on level 25, Billy Talent 4minutes on level 20, and so on; got me sweating, thats for sure! Wanted to cry by the end of it, cuz I usually do the elliptical on the same setting for most of the workout, minus about five minutes where I change up a bit, but this was the whoolllleee 26minutes. Legs are gonna hurt tomorrow. yay. lol.

I was trying to find it but somewhere I read that people who weigh themselves daily actually do better at maintaining their weight loss... I think as long as you're not weighing yourself several times a day, once a day is fine. I still do it too...
As for the pedometer, all my information comes from "The Step Book". I'm attaching the conversion chart for you. Also, we actually started a little pedometer challenge a couple years ago. You might find some good info on there. http://weight-loss.fitness.com/club-challenges/3012-pedometer-daily-step-challenge-7.html

The main thing to remember is for the first day or two, don't worry about reaching a goal amount of steps; just do your daily thing and see what your steps add up to... after that, aim to increase that number by 500-1000 a week. 10,000 is a good goal to shoot for but if you're only taking 3000 a day now, it might be too big of a goal at first. Anyway, I'm off to the hospital... ttyl. :)

That's a pretty cool trick with your Zune. I wish the iPod would do that. I'm sure it is a $10000000 add on like all iPod add-ons are. ARGH Pretty cool. What song did you choose??

Great workout, sounds like you are back on track. I love a good leg workout because when my legs hurt the next day it reminds me to workout, to make them feel better! Today I suffered from weighing myself in at all times. This morning I was down a pound since yesterday. I don't know if I should put value in that, but I do like seeing a lower number!

Nah, my zune isn't that cool, lol. I just find a song I wanna listen to and punch up the level on whatever machine I'm working on, and make myself to a whole song to that level... works pretty well for me.. crazy how fast the time goes by with music :)

Lol!! I don't know if I'd call it a winners attitude- I'm half ways a whiny bitch when it comes to this shiznit, buuutttt I just keep going. Glutton for punishment. Thtas what I am

Sooo I didn't go to the gym last night :( went to a friends house, ate a GIANT taco salad, then came home and passed out. Oops. But damn, it felt good to sleep that long. Tonight I doubled my workout(plus some, almost overkill on the cardio) to make up for missing a night, and I was there from 11pm to 2am. Holy hell! Longest workout I've ever done, thats for damn sure. So heres my workout:

Shoulders and Chest
Cardio: started with 45min on treadmill, 2.44miles
stairstepper(for the bonus point) 10min, .36miles, 17floors
eliptical for 20min, 1.41miles
and then finished on the treadmill again with 20 more min, 1.07miles

95minutes of cardio- eh.. seems like a little much lol, but I definately made up for missing a night. It was sorta bizarre tho- normally once my thirty minutes is up, (sometimes 45), I'm done, outta there, no way in hell I'm gonna keep going! But tonight, motivation out the ass man! Just couldn't stop, the only reason I stopped there, ok-two reasons- 1: I could feel blisters starting on my heels, 2: I have to work in the am, and wanted to get on here and post my stuff before bed.
Hoping to finish the week with another killer workout tomorrow!
