377lb to 215lb

Thanks Loch! :blush5:

You will get there! I've read your diary and I know you're determined
smile.gif
With the proper tools and right support, you will do it! I find that I'm always on the lookout for new sources of inspiration constantly. Always keep your eyes open! Some moments are enough to keep me going for a month or two at a time until I come across something new that really re-energizes me
smile.gif

Try to think of moments in your daily routine that would be so much better if you were slim and healthy.

Some examples:

- Walking around without pain or sweating.

- Going for a bike ride on a sunny day.

- Making eye contact with an attractive person and not feeling self-conscious.

- Buying food or clothes at a store and not feel like you're being judged by everyone.

I used to order everything online because I was so embarrassed to go out in public and do it :)

Nowadays, it's not such a big deal!

Treadmills are awesome for sure  I wouldn't be able to stand not using it practically every day. You get addicted to it

If I were you, I would buy new. I'd be hesitant of anything used. This device can and will save your life, so get the best of the best in my opinion!

Mine cost about $2k when I got it years ago, plus I got a 3 year warranty on it so whenever something breaks down (which it did once), a repair person comes out and fixes her up free of charge

TRUELY amazing transformation. Wow man, great job, could you picture yourself carrying two 100 pounds dumbell on you 24/7 !

Really inspirational, keep it on and reach your goals !

ATotally amazing!

You are completely right about staying on target, even if you plateau or break your diet. Once in a while, I eat out of my calories. I use to be in the mindset of, "Well, I already messed up....what does it matter now?" I know that's totally wrong, now. I gain a pound or two here and there, but I don't stress. I know that as long as I stick to my main diet, I'll lose the weight.

While I've only lost 55lbs, I feel a world of difference in how my body moves, and how I no longer have so many aches and pains. I bet you feel the same way, too!

And as always, you are completely gorgeous. Well done. :)

Wow!!! Amazing progress!!! you have done fantastically well ) And what a handsome man has now been revealed )

Keep up the good work!

I am just at the start of my weight loss journey... currently I weigh 186lb but started out at 207lb, I hope to reach 150lb. I know its not a huge amount to lose but sometimes it feels like I have a long way to go!!!

But you are certainly an inspiration! :0)

Thank ya, Asylum!

Yeah, I really have no idea how I managed to carry it around it for so long. Of course, I hardly ever moved. I just sat around most of the day, so I guess that made it easier to manage all that weight

Heya Robyn!

Yep, it's all about the right mindset - and you got it!

I'm actually facing a bit of a plateau this week myself. I weighed myself this morning and I'm still sitting pretty at 189+ :)

It's a bit frustrating as I've really been working the treadmill and eyeballing my calorie intake this week, but it's just part of the cycle. Hopefully I can get rid of these extra pounds before my weigh-in day on Sunday, but if not, no big deal I'll just get it next week!

Thanks again for the kind words, btw :blush5: You're so wonderful! :p

Hey frogged, I just went over your thread again. Amazing job! really incredible!

You look awesome in tha spider suit! Great job!

Aren't we around the same height? I have a friend who is about your starting weight (I think, maybe a little heavier) who is very depressed like you were and has almost given up hope.

He plays video games constantly, and watches the TV, but because of this he has edema in his legs, it's not good. I hope he pulls through it. I'm trying to help him the best I can. We go to the gym together 3 days a week. He's been lifting weights and excerising. Although his diet isn't good still, he's making progress.

I look forward to talking to you again.

Message me anytime.

Quite an amazing achivement! And I agree on your statement to never give up. I still have severe depression, I am getting a little better, am on medication but its difficult. I want to be positive and lift people up not bring them down. So I can relate to that too. And the ackwardness thing..yeah, me too. Damn I still feel so ackward in my photo thread with the before and after photos...its more embarassing than ackward for me.Especially when a pretty women comments...I've never had that before you know? And recently there's this girl who has alot in common with me and she told me she has a crush on me, I never knew this or had a girl tell me this before. It's a good feeling.

Do you live close to ohio/northern kentucky? I'm going there later this month.

Heya Sparks :)

lol, thanks for the compliments about my Spidey suit :p Still a bit snug, but it's fitting better! :D

As for my height, I'm 5' 9''. Yeah, your friend definitely sounds similar to how I felt before I found the inspiration I needed to get started. I hope your friend does too, but it's good that you're there to help him :) You're a solid foundation of support, Sparks. He's lucky to have you there!

Sorry to hear about your depression :\ It sounds like you're handling it well though. The medication wasn't my thing, but it's different for everyone. If it helps you in anyway, I hope you continue it and find a good equilibrium over time :)

And yes, haha.. I don't think I'll ever get used to any compliments from pretty women. My roommate had an ex girlfriend over to visit just this last weekend, and she said I was 'hot' at one point. My roommate then turned to me and said 'Yeah, and she also has a lot of single hot friends too!'. Um, well in that situation, I never really believe it. I told my roommate afterward that I think she was just being nice when she said that, but then he said 'Well, she could have just said nothing too, ya know?'

Eh, I guess so, but whatever :) It feels good, but still awkward of course.

And unfortunately I don't really live too close to those areas :( It's about a ~7 hour drive one-way from where I live in PA :\

Wow, im amazed and inspired, soak it in man, you have earned it. I was not nearly your size to begin with and i had the mindset i was a "lost cause", i realize now how much of a cop out it was. I think you should maybe pursue this as a career or higher calling, think how many people you have inspired just by posting this thread, now think how many more you could if you went out in the world and shared your story. Maybe its not your thing, but i bet youd be good at it, anyways you have my respect man. Take care

Thanks a lot for your kind words, matt!
smile.gif

Yeah, I am looking into pursuing a career in this field every so often in my free time. I'm hoping to hit my goal weight within the next 6 months, give or take, so we'll see how my situation is at that time. My current job has been keeping me rather busy, and I may actually be getting a bump up in pay/benefits here shortly
smile.gif

There's so many factors in play right now in my life, my head is spinning a tad.

As for going out and sharing my story.. yeah, I'm not very good with public speaking or any of that. I'm extremely shy and get very nervous around new people (especially crowds of them) :{

I think I'll just stick with inspiring friends/family for now and, of course, people on the internet

I don't know who Zach Quinto is (don't watch much TV) but I clicked on that link with his photo and Frogged is decidedly better looking. Seriously I mean that with all sincerity. What an inspiration and yes you are smoking hot so get used to it!

So happy for you and thank you for the much needed inspiration.

Can I ask you a question? After looking at your charts I see that twice or so you gained 6 or 7 pounds in a week only to immediately lose it again. How did you get the inspiration to lose it again? I feel like I've fallen off the wagon after 4 solid months of wonderful blissful healthy eating and weightloss - now about 3 weeks of overeating and feeling rolls in my stomach again for the first time. I need something/someone to put a lock on my refrigerator or flip that switch in my brain. Any ideas?

Thx

Thanks rocky  hehe, but I'm not even going to dance around any idea that I'm better looking than Hollywood celebrities right now, lol!

I appreciate the sincere sentiments though

Well, those gains on my chart were just water weight accumulated from either taking a rest week from exercise, or taking a rest week from calorie restriction.

There was one week where I did something to my foot and didn't want to risk injury, so even while watching my calories, I did no treadmill exercising. The other time, I exercised, but didn't really follow any kind of meal plan - I just pretty much ate whatever/whenever for the majority of the week before I freaked out at how much retention I was holding and immediately got back on track.

Both weeks were no good for weight loss obviously. In my own personal regimen, one without the other just isn't enough - I need both.

I've always had inspiration from various sources that constantly push me (my mother, family, friends, painful memories from growing up, not wanting to waste anymore time, etc). The only reason those few oddball weeks happened is because my body needed a rest. While it did throw me out of wack physically (and sometimes emotionally), it was necessary I feel. It keeps my body guessing and also gave it time to recover from pain. Listening to your body is very important!

Ya know, one thought does come to mind about something easy you could do. I was over visiting some friends the other day and I noticed they had put a scale right in front of their refrigerator. Now, these friends of mine are in great physical shape. They hit the gym all the time and are very active and fit. I thought that was a pretty nifty idea to remind yourself about your commitment to losing weight while not necessarily being all up in your face about it
smile.gif
Just having a scale sitting idly nearby your main food source might be a good source of motivation.
