I have a great wife, a dream job and pleanty of spare time. The problem is that I have an addictive nature. I want as much of whatever it is i am getting a buzz off. When it comes to drinking, i don't settle for one or two... I want them all! I attend meetings regularly to deal with this apect of my life, and am coping a lot better, but I can also channel this 'obsessiveness' into positive things, like dieting and exercise. My dietry intake is awesome currently. I do not cheat, and get a buzz out of having that degree of discipline. The same goes for the treadmill, weights and (newly) bike riding. Religious!
This 'all-or-nothing' drive isn't exactly ideal, but I would rather have it focussed on positive things at this point in my life.
All good things Paul!! But I wouldn't call it "all-or-nothing" thinking... to me that refers to if I can't do this one thing... I can't do ALL these others!!! I hope you are not doing that!!! Rather, I take it as you replacing BAD habbits with GOOD!!! "BUZZES" and all!! Good work man, keep it up!!
<--- STILL not beer!!!
Weddings are........really hard not to get drunk at! LOL!
