140 days (to a better me)

I have a great wife, a dream job and pleanty of spare time. The problem is that I have an addictive nature. I want as much of whatever it is i am getting a buzz off. When it comes to drinking, i don't settle for one or two... I want them all! I attend meetings regularly to deal with this apect of my life, and am coping a lot better, but I can also channel this 'obsessiveness' into positive things, like dieting and exercise. My dietry intake is awesome currently. I do not cheat, and get a buzz out of having that degree of discipline. The same goes for the treadmill, weights and (newly) bike riding. Religious!

This 'all-or-nothing' drive isn't exactly ideal, but I would rather have it focussed on positive things at this point in my life.

All good things Paul!! But I wouldn't call it "all-or-nothing" thinking... to me that refers to if I can't do this one thing... I can't do ALL these others!!! I hope you are not doing that!!! Rather, I take it as you replacing BAD habbits with GOOD!!! "BUZZES" and all!! Good work man, keep it up!! :cheers2: <--- STILL not beer!!! :D or wine!!! :D :D

I don't drink often but once or twice a year. I never understood "lifestyle change" before but I love that there's a way to be healthier and still balance it with day to day and special occasions without one M&M (atkins) or a drink sabotaging the whole thing. It still takes some willpower and self control to manage deviating from the normal routine when it's called for though. So good job being able to take a break without it derailing you :)

Day 25:

Just a quick entry.

I am Shattered from work and workout sessions. Giving it full effort but I need more sleep. An early night for me as soon as I finish this...

Went Diving and snorkling over the weekend. Swam to a closeby island for cardio (good hour swim) but was sunburnt to a crisp in the process. I forgot how much I love the sea.

Diet has been awesome. No cheating since the last entry. Not even a bit.

Got a speeding ticket tonight. My second in 2 years, which puts me at 40 demerit points (100 is a lost licence) so I need to seriously watch my speed from now on. That was the only thing that marred a great couple of days since I last updated.

More soon....

 That's fantastic, bud! Keep on trucking. :driving:

Lucky you, sounds like a whole lot of fun. It's been COLD here in Florida the past 3 days (around 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit). Can't wait for April-May, when it gets really warm. Just like you, I'll burn into a crisp! Looking forward to it! :reddevil:

Day 27

Wow am I tired

It been a few days since I last updated but things are going great. My eating has been saintly, the cadio great (although due to the intense sunburn the weights have been a no-go) and the weighloss is like a freight train!

One pound off my personal best (mid nov) at 223lbs. This is a GREAT place to be right now! It looks like my goal of breaking 100Kgs by mid Feb is highly achievable.

I was a bit gutted that I forgot to film my weekly video clip last weekend. I had the perfect spot at the marine reserve but chickened out due to huge crowds of people. I guess week four doesn't end untill tomorrow so I could film a less exciting clip somewhere local....

The video? I don't know if anyone has seen that "where the hell is matt" vid on youtube? Well I'm doing a 'where the hell has Paul's weight gone" which involves my own happy dance wearing only shorts in exotic places around new zealand. The first two vids are cringe-worthy due to 117kgs, but the most recent clip (104kgs) really shows a huge difference. On completion (89-91kgs) I will post the completed project as a form of public accountability. I never want to look like I did in the first video clip ever again :(

I'm so jealous. I don't want a sunburn but I'd love some friggin sun! lol It's COLD HERE! Anyway glad you're doing so great even if you don't have time to post :) And I don't blame you on the crowds. Can't wait to see our video though, lol

Awesome!

I have been playing Airsoft Combat the last three days. Firefights, troop movements and adreneline. Walked about 100km and ran like an assault trooper more times than i could shake a stick at. I am bruised, shot up and buggered completely!!! Can hardly walk....

Best news... 100.3kgs...... weighing in at night also........ I will achieve my mini-goal early!!!

A photo of me at the pre-combat

Paul it sounds like you've been doing great!! Getting lots of exercise and eating right.. and less the 221 lbs?? WOW your going awesome you'll be at your mini goal in no time!!

I will not fail,

100.3kgs is 221.1 lbs, so spot on. :)

Paul,

That Airsoft Combat thing sounds like fun. Maybe now you can set a new goal? My personal goal is 190 lbs. (86.1kgs) Congratulations on meeting your current goal.

Day 54:

Sorry for the long absense again. Life has been pretty hectic now the school year has kicked in. I have been posted to a new district (new schools and students and a new boss) and have been flat out all month getting up to scratch). Haven't had much time to catch up with the forum or time for any non-essential tasks.

Good news is I haven't stopped the healthy eating and constant exersise! I've been getting lots of comments from people who haven't seen me for a while, and it's alll great!

I broke my 100kg goal last week and now I'm on the 9 more kg path to 90kgs (which will be the start of my full-on weight training at the new gym near our house) My total success goal is 88kg but the path from 90 to 88 will be one of body scupting rather than simple weight loss.

Well, one more week at work and I should be back in control so will be able to get on here much more often for updates, and catching up on where all my WL buddies are in their own journeys...

Hi 140 days! You are doing Great with your progress. I'm glad to hearthat even with a hectic lifestlye you seem to keep on track. That motivates me. You have a wonderful day and dont forget to drink your WATER!!

41 daYS LEFT???

Well, I have been absent from the boards, but the GOALS have been ever present in my life. I have been keeping up the no-drinking (a miracle in itself) and have thrown myself fully into my airsoft MilSim sports.

95kgs currently, with just over 7 more to go until my absolute goal :)

I was just looking at a hideous facebook photo a friend posted of me on their facebook page. They stayed with us for a couple of days back in october 08 before heading back to Hong Kong. Only today do they post the photo..... 118 KG,s .... I can't believe I was that person :O

Well, just needed to let those of you who so kindly check in on me from time to time that I am OK and still fighting the good fight! Thanks as always to you!

Ok, 31 days remaining. I have had 2 weeks holiday, that last of which was spent catching up on paperwork. I got a bit slack with the exersise.

Tomorrow I am back at work. I can't wait... It's a fully pack next ten weeks, but I thrive on routenes. I looks like my 31 days will bring me halfway through the term, so I will start (yet) a new journal then for the final stages of my Reshaping!

Goals Revised:
  1. Reach 92Kg by day 140. That's 3kg in just under 5 weeks. Highly achievable!
  2. Revise my new direction for the next 140 days, including the final 4kgs and the following 'body sculpting' and 'muscle gain'.

These next 31 days are going to be intense, but when they are over, The final 140 is going to be a killer!

30 Day remaining

A busy day for me :(

Worked all day, then came homeand worked until 8pm. I managed 40 minutes on the treadmill whilst watching a film on TV (Doomsday-quite enjoyed it!).

It's the beginning of a new term, so there is so much I have to do for work, but I don't want to let my WL plan fall by the wayside... not with a month to go.

I didn't get my weights in today, and tomorrow night will be the same with paperwork. I will try to get at least 1/2 hour weights and the treadmill again, regardless if I finish all my work or not.

I WILL NOT FAIL!

Finally got the majority of the paper work done; well at least the stuff that is due in this week.

Diet has been perfect today :) I didn't have time for my treadmill session, but I did get in a weights session (upper body). My arms are aching... gonna pay for this in the morning
This will have to suffice for my entry today as it's 12.30pm and I need to get up at 6am for work.

13 days left

It's been a busy few weeks for me. Seems like all I do is work, come home and do more work... then sleep. Exersise has taken the form of a single day of 7-8 hours intense cardio (Airsoft Sports) in the weekend, but the diet has been strict and the weight is steadilly falling off.

Down to 205lbs today... a long fall short of my predicted 190ish that i had wanted, but that was a bit of a pipedream anyhow.

53 lbs is something that I can take pride in. The comments from the schools I visit have been gravy :)

My ID card photo from last year now serves as a humourous reminder of how it has all be worth the sacrifice :)

In 13 days I will be sitting down and planning the final leg of my journey. I plan for a final 140 days to finish what I started, but the focus will be on building up the muscle after loosing those last 15 lbs.
