every so often its just therapeutic to be ab le to curse at someone and not have them know you are cursing... one of my favorite foreign curses was an old gaelic one my grandfather taught me when i was but a wee pup... anyone who had an irish grandparent would know it but most others do not :D

the curse gets even funnier to me now that i;m in chicago - one of our favorite bars we go to - is called Poah mahones -which is the pronunciation of the curse :D

Wow...it's been a little while since I've stopped by...I didn't mean to be anti-social...

I've been working very long hours and I was out of the office for a month, and I didn't have internet access during the day...

Well...I've definitely gained some weight over the last couple of months...not sure how much...the last time I weighed myself I was back up to 214, and I'm sure I've lost some muscle as well. In the past two months since my injury I have done 2 karate classes, 2 gym workouts and 2 indoor kayaking sessions. I think I did some short workouts at home too, but not enough to form a habit. Oh yeah..and some physiotherapy sessions too...I'll get to that in a bit...

I've haven't been eating that well lately. I've been getting pizza for lunch way too often...although I've brought healthy food to work for the past two days...so hopefully I'm back on the health kick.

This happened to me last year...I work tons of hours from February to April, I stop exercising, I don't eat well (lots of fast food) and I drink a lot. I'm now buying Kilkenny by the case (cause it's cheaper that way you know)...and it's been a couple of beers a night probably 4-5 nights a week. I get pretty bummed out when I work all these hours, and what happens when we get bummed out (all together now) we eat...it's like clockwork...

I went to see a sports clinic doctor a month or so ago, and did some physiotherapy sessions. The therapist and I both agreed that it was better to go off and do the exercises on my own because if I needed surgery, I'd be spending a lot of time there afterwards...so I was waiting for my MRI (in August but I got a call and it was moved up again).

So I had my MRI a few days ago (3:30am on Monday morning to be exact)...MRI clinics here run 24hrs a day or else the wait times would be ridiculous (well, even so, they currently are ridiculous). I got a call from a nurse at my doctor's office and it's an ACL tear as well as some fluid build up. I'm seeing the sports doctor again next week, so we'll see what he recommends. I believe it's just a partial tear, so I think I will not likely need surgery...just rehab...for my knee and drinking maybe...

Argghh....it's been a tiring and frustrating couple of months...:(

On a brighter note...I found a small gym around the corner from my office...and I'm checking it out tomorrow...it's really reasonably priced and very very close to work. So I'm thinking that I'll join up and go do weight workouts at lunch...I think I really need to get back into strength training on a regular basis...everything hurts and I just feel weak and fat...where did I put that beer....

So.......how is everyone else these days?

Sorry...that took a while to type....

Sorry...that took a while to type....

I'll say!
:)

It's good to see you back and posting - Mal and I took to drinking Guinness without you - it was very lonely!

The new gym sounds ideal - and you'll be back on track in no time.

You're just not allowed to run away again :p

The first time I tried to post...the website kicked me out...I guess it's mad at me...luckily I know know to cut and paste and log back in...

Ah yes...I've enjoyed a few Guiness in my time off as well...

nice to see ya back - you've been missed... :)

did i read that rigt your mri is scheduled for... counts on fingerss...4 months from now? harumph...

Well...I saw my doctor in mid-February...then I got an MRI appointment a couple of weeks later for early December....then I got bumped to mid August...then I got a call last week that it got moved up again...so I had it a few days ago...glad it's done...

I've missed everyone too...I actually feel a little better already and I've only been back for like 15minutes....
