12packAbs Diary

I'm sorry to hear about the surgery, hun. But it's great that you have a plan. I'm sure that makes it much less frustrating! And you'll still get to enjoy the beautiful summer. That's awesome.

All this coffee talk* is making me sick. I hate coffee more than most things. I can think of a few things I dislike more, but I won't say them for fear of offending people :) I hope my dislike of coffee doesn't make all you coffee fans hate me.
*I said "coffee talk". Anybody remember Coffee Talk from SNL? "Hi, welcome to Coffee Talk. I'm ya host, Linda Richman." LOVED IT! What's with me reminiscing about past shows recently??

Thanks Sunny...

But I am a little heart-broken that you don't like coffee....:(

I'm sorry. Many of my friends are saddened by it. I'd like to like it because it's so useful. But I just can't .

Well, my Friday has been pretty good...I hope everyone else is doing well too! (hey - when did I get promoted to 'Member'? I just notice that)

I did my third weight workout of the week at lunch today and took the stairs twice too (man...my legs were a little weak climbing up those stairs after the workout...tonight it'll be lots of rest (probably in front of the tv :) )

Food today
8:00am - 1 1/2 cups of Blueberry protein oatmeal
9:30am - Banana, 1/3 cup raw almonds
11:00am - protein shake
12:15 - 1:00pm - workout
1:00pm - whey protein shake
1:30pm - Tuna wrap (tuna, reduced fat mayo and alfalfa sprouts on whole wheat tortilla) with a large baby spinach salad (8 cups) with olive/flax oil and balsamic vinegar, yogurt with 2tsp of flax seeds mixed in
3:00pm - baby carrots, 1/2 cup cottage cheese
5:00pm'ish - Tuna wrap

I've had 3 cups of coffee and lots of water - I feel good. With my current level of activity and eating, it's just a matter of time before I start seeing some results around the midsection.

Today there was an incredibly hot girl working out....I mean, wow...and a teenie workout outfit. (I didn't ogle...so don't start). I was thinking what it must be like to be that fit and have people drool over you...maybe by the end of September I'll be feeling like I'm fit with the new me - 30lbs lighter - that's the plan!

Didn't ogle... yeah right. You mean you didn't get caught ogling. :p

I wish I had the discipline to eat more often throughout the day. You've got it down to a science. I find it hard to eat 4 times, even though I know I should be eating more often. I just can't seem to find the time. It's like once I've eaten one meal/snack, it's time to eat the next.

Dont start?

why the heckk didnt you ogle - crimininey - she was putting it on display she's probably now thinkng she's a big honkin' cow or something because you didn't ogle her...

boys.. arghhh.. what am i gonna do with you...

next time

ogle :)

and umm - you just don't see some of us drooling over you - I go thru a keyboard every few days ya know

Yup. Mal's right. If you want to depress the girl, don't ogle. Otherwise DO!
When I've just bought a new pair of gym gear, showing a little leg and some cleavage even  , I definitely want to be looked at. (Well, not by the 50+ fat men drooling while snailing 2 km/h on their treadmills I don't. But by anybody doing a serious workout, thus showing the potential to be interesting from my point of view, YES.) Why do you think I bought the 200€ clothes, as I have 100 pairs of perfectly good sagging sweats and loose t-shirts in my wardrobe?!? I think also, it makes my workout 75% more intense, when I think, god, I must look really hot, since that nice looking guy over there almost dropped his weights staring at me.
I might come a bit suspicious of your mental capabilities when I go back to the dressing room and see my crimson face, but come on, take the risk!
:p

Well...those are interesting point ladies...I've just heard so many women complaining about guys in the gym checking them out (which I think is the reason for all of the women only gyms)...this seems to be a contradiction with some women that wear the more revealing/teenier outfits in the gym. I think that if you wear stuff like that - you WANT to be looked at. If men looking at you bothers you, then don't wear that stuff.

I just didn't feel like being another guy ogling this girl. I'm sure she gets it all the time...in the gym, in the bars, wherever. I'm absolutely positive that she gets way more than her share of men's attention. It's not like she'd be checking me out...so I guess sometimes I don't give them any attention. Don't get me wrong - I love admiring women.

Well...maybe from now on I won't feel bad about checking out the girls in the gym a little more... :)

That was very considerate of you to spare her yet one more drooling ogler. And you're right...lol...women are FULL of contradictions. Look at us, don't look at us, open my door, DON'T open my door, buy me lunch, let's go dutch...these are confusing times for men. The thing that grosses me out are men who look at my body and not my face, no smile, just salivation, like Pavlov's dogs. One time I looked at a nice guy in the gym and he knew he was a god. So I thought what the hell and when I passed him I said "my you ARE a tasty bag of groceries, aren't you?"

sigh.

I've always had way, way too much nerve.

Yeah, right, you didnt ogle. I believe you, sure. ;)

Ogling is a sport for both sexes in the gym, no doubt about that. There's a guy in my gym, about my age, who has a great figure and he sure know it. He struts around with his shirt tucked in, not a love handle in sight, with a weight belt on just to accentuate things. His hair is always perfect. He'll do one or two curls with a 20 lb. dumbbell, then walk slowly to the water fountain at the other side of the gym, then do 2 more curls, then take another walk, etc. I've never ever seen him do a squat or a deadlift; in fact, I don't think he even know what those are.

Anyway, the point is, the way he dresses and his entire demeanor are screaming out, "Please, please ogle me! (even though I am almost 60)"

I used to go to another gym 10 years ago, where on Saturday mornings about half of the women would wear those thong outfits. There wasn't much doubt they wanted to be ogled.

But here's the thing -- you don't get to choose who will ogle you. You may be a hot 20-something young woman, but don't get mad if you parade about and a guy like me checks you out. I mean, I'm still alive and still have eyes.

Yes...you definitely ARE a confusing gender. And that comment you said to the guy...that is AWESOME...I love it...(think I can use it on that girl in the gym?) :)

Very well put Tom...

...and no I really didn't...I was just in one of those moods where I didn't want to give her that satisfaction that yet another guy thinks she's smoking hot.

For me it's not much of a problem...because I'm ALWAYS hungry...well, every couple of hours usually. Especially with eating smaller meals. If the clock doesn't tell me it's time to eat again, my stomach does. So in order for me not to go out and get something that I shouldn't eat...I just have all my snacks and food planned out. That way I know what I'm eating and when, and it's much easier.

I do have a problem somedays late in the afternoon. If I don't bring enough food...and I'm starving by the time I get home...I'll eat anything and everthing in sight. I get quite cranky when I'm that hungry, so I just try to plan ahead.

What? It's Sunday and you haven't checked in?
I'm beginning to think you've forgotten about us already!

I always like to say men are as simple as women are complicated. Yuk yuk yuk. Guffaw, snort, giggle. K, I'm kidding. I don't go for those generalizations. YES, by all means tell the lass she's a tasty bag of groceries, but smile and wink and keep walking. It's funnier that way. If you hang around, your victim might not know what to say.

Oops! Sorry...I didn't forget about you - I promise!

I had an ok weekend...pizza for dinner on Friday, pizza for lunch on Saturday and pizza for lunch on Sunday. Saturday was good other than the pizza and a few beers in the evening - I had a great karate class too - I was just drenched by the time we were done. Sunday was a lot of foods that I don't normally eat - regular cereal, peanut butter sandwich, pizza, a dish with regular rice for dinner and a slice of apple pie. Weekends are usually a little tougher for me - lots of weeks I'll eat strictly from Monday to Thursday, but Friday to Sunday include some less than stellar foods. Overall, I did well for the week.

Weigh in this morning - 212.6, down from 214 from last week, so I'm on track after week one! Yay! Now it's another week, so I have to keep it up.

Now I have to get to work...I'll stop by later. Have a great day! :)

Yikes I'm busy at work! I haven't been able to stop by much in the last week...so i just wanted to say a quick hello.

Last week was great...this week not as good, but not that bad either. I got both workouts on Monday and haven't been on Tues/Wed or Thursday. I plan to get to the gym tomorrow at lunch for my second weight workout and I should be at karate on Saturday.

My eating has been ok, but too much snacking in the last few days. Today I had a craving for junk, so I treated myself to a fantastic burger and fries. I have to get to the grocery store tonight and stock up on the good food so that I don't have any excuses over the next few days. Wish me luck!

I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

:)
