Louisiana is a great place to visit, for me anyway. Its home so that feels good. The fishing is without question the best in North America (pounds of meat wise anyway), all those nutrients coming down the Mississippi draining half of North America. I brought home about 100 lbs of frozen fish, most I caught, but I purchased some local Louisiana shrimp and crawfish too. Culturally its an interesting place, real melting pot of peoples with a lot of history. And the food is amazing. New Orleans is a small city, only about 350,000 people, but with over 1,400 restaurants, cafes, etc. The competition is fierce, so if the food is not very good the restaurant does not survive. And the multi-cultural nature of the population leads to a lot of diversity, you can find pretty much any kind of ethnic foods you want, as well as many things unique to Louisiana. An easy place for me to have a great vacation.
