Tuesday had a single salsa lesson plus about three salsa tracks at the end.... The odd thing is that the stepcount is not drastically higher than the other days - but my legs really ached for a number of hours afterwards...

Salsa puts quite a different strain on your legs than normal walking so I'm not terribly surprised by that seeing as you haven't been salsa-ing very much the past couple of months.

Its certainly odd how quickly things can change...

I did a lot less than normal on Sunday as I felt unwell (pain in stomach) so cut my zumba short after just 4 tracks.

I've started going to pilates a month ago (just been there tonight) and it included some neck stretches.
I havent really given relaxation exercises a chance (its quite a few years now since I did any yoga).
I should really try to find time for that kind of stuff.

Nice job Omega!

I had a brief reprieve from unhealthy air quality last night and was able to get in 20,933 steps, but unfortunately the smoke is back today :(

Nice job Omega!
Thanks :hug2:

20,933 steps,
You did great too :hurray:

Had I known I was so close to 10,000 I would have walked around the house a little bit.
Sometimes I am only 9 steps off the next 1,000 & hadn't realised when I went to bed.
I know that feeling well... Looking up this page I see an example where I thought exactly that :rotflmao:
Sunday 23/08/2020............................... 14,991 steps

Wednesday 02/09/2020...................... 20,751 steps
Thursday 03/09/2020........................... 21,218 steps

9/1 20,933
9/2 9,741
9/3 5,637
9/4 12,855

I'm at least averaging over 10K/day, but still having days of unhealthy air quality where I don't hit 10k. 110° F heat is in the forecast too so I may lag for a bit...

Its tough that the air quality is bad there. I'm lucky as the air quality is not the problem here... We are getting more days of rain than warranted by months like August and September...

Have you tried exercise videos or stuff like zumba? I sometimes do zumba at home.

I am concerned in case there is another lockdown in winter when the weather is really bad. I'm trying to get my treadmill repaired before that happens... I've been in touch with several companies but no-one has shown any willingness to come out and see if it can be repaired.

I ordered an indoor exercise bike about a month ago and it is supposed to show up next week, but I'll be surprised if it adds any steps to my day. I really don't enjoy walking, but the dogs sure do and it is nice to get out of the house during quarantine.

Is the air quality any better if you get up and out early? The dogs will really be missing out if they do not get a walk in.

We get up and out early to avoid other people as much as possible because of the virus. We'll be out soon - it is coming up to 6am now here in England.

I got my stepper machine for £5 last year... I hit really lucky with it - it was sitting outside a charity shop. Naturally I couldn't resist it.

Normally the air quality would fluctuate throughout the day as the winds changed direction and pushed the smoke into different parts of the valley, but this year there are fires pretty much everywhere along the central valley's ~1000 mile perimeter:

The air quality is much better than last week, but still in the unhealthy range everywhere in the valley, though at the moment there is an isolated pocket of clean air in the hills between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe:

When it is only "moderately unhealthy" like now, I'll still take the dogs around the block (~1000 steps), but the 3+ mile walks have to wait. When the air is worse, I'll take the dogs for a car ride throughout town, which seems to stave off some of their cabin fever rambunctiousness.

To make it worse, we're in for another week of extreme heat:

(110F = 43C. 120F = 48C)

So it looks like I'll be limiting myself to burpees in front of the AC & air purifier for the next few days...

Our weather is very different to yours...
We have rain and clouds currently fill the sky. It rained throughout our first walk this morning.
The high temperature forecast for today is 17C which is 62F

It possibly sounds brilliant to you - but we didn't enjoy being rained on.
We could certainly fancy it being a bit warmer - because the weather will only get worse from this point of the year onwards.
