Lift, Train, Fitness

Fingers crossed you don't, Tru. G & I were tested a couple of months ago & got the results back with a day. Hopefully, you will too.

Whatever you do have I hope it passes quickly.

Feeling awful with this cold , continuing to gargle as instructed, no results yet from testing, everybody else in the house have no signs of being sick at all.

It sucks that you feel so awful, but glad no-one else has it. Do you have a temp? Hope you hear today xo

my temp is ok, D is picking up some Comfrey cuttings from a woman I had arranged to meet up with before I felt ill.

I need to source a large supply of old newspapers for preparing new garden beds and plan to start building Swales into the hills to improve water use for the garden by making better use of run off water. The Swales will be sheet mulched to prevent weeds while I establish trees along the berms of the Swales.

We have long dry periods with no rain and terrible heat, but when we get rain it is usually from a storm with heavy rain and lots of run of, I want to catch that run off better so it is available to garden.

Some of my seeds I ordered should arrive in the mail today. I can also report my lavender seeds have sprouted along with one of my tomato seed, and a couple of Valerian seeds.

I was just thinking yesterday that I didn't get sick traveling this time around and if colds/flu were less common right now because people don't go out as much. Whatever you do have I hope you feel better asap.

Starting to feel better tonight but I have some aches and pains where I have arthritis as seen on a scan when I was younger but never had any discomfort (C7-T1) Considering all the other joints that I have arthritis in, I am not terribly surprised when another joint gives me problems lol

Plus when you're not feeling 100% it's no surprise when random things hurt/get inflamed. Glad you're on the mend though.

I have had a lot of arthritic pain lately too, but luckily not a cold. Touch wood! Hope you bounce back soon, Tru.

I just had D spray my head with cold spray then pull a paralysis tick out of the back of my neck at the hairline in line with my spine with a tick hook, he was a big sucker. I have put him in a sample jar in case I get sick and it needs to be tested.

Cold is almost gone, but now it is possible the aches could have been caused by the tick.

It has been sprinkling with rain so chipping out the over grown area where I will putting in swales has been a little easier.

2 of my tomato seeds have now sprouted, 2 valerian and a pot full of lavender. worm farm looks to be doing well and the plants in the wicking bed are thriving. bare root Comfrey cutting is looking a little happier in a small pot. Planted some wormwood seeds in a pot with the hope I will have better luck with it this time. Little miss has some daisy seeds sprouting in a little pot shaped like a gnome.

I just read that out to G. I could not live in the tropics *shudder*
I must get some of that cold spray. Where do you get it, Tru?

you should be able to get it from the supermarket or the chemist, it is the Elastoplast cold spray for injuries, cold spray for warts should do the same thing, it is the cold which insta kills them so they cannot inject more poison and the hook lifted the dead tick out cleanly with the head intact. the hooks were from a pet supply place being sold as a tool for removing ticks from dogs, much simpler than messing around with tweezers and risking squeezing more poison in or mutilating the tick and leaving the head in the wound.

on a gardening note, it pays to read research germination guides for some plants, the passion fruit seeds I want to germinate had to have boiling water poured over them and stay in the water for 24 hours, I will plant them tomorrow. The comfrey seeds I have did not come with full instructions, however after a bit of research, I have to place them in damp sand in a ziplock bag in the fridge for a week because they are cold activated. I now understand why most comfrey is grown from cuttings, I only have the one cutting so the seeds will go into the fridge tomorrow also.

It's so shiny!
