Cate's Diary

Hi, LaMa. I had snaffled an old t-shirt that I had worn gardening & hadn't washed yet. It says "That's a horrible idea. What time?"
Jack- G has the restless legs. I gave him some magnesium last night & insisted he take it.
Em- They are a big responsibility & need time & attention. Would be hard in a share home.
101- I can happily say he's an absolute joy this morning.
Crate training, take 5, is a success!!!
11-7 :D
I'm off to golf this morning & A will have to go outside as G has gone too. I put a tarp around the table that the kennel is under to make it cosier. He'll have his coat on, A great big special bone to gnaw on, plenty of food & water....
All part of life's rich tapestry, Arch. Next week we should have a doggy door installed & then there'll be doggy door training!
June plan day 3 all good, but forgot to do squats!

Oh yeah, not yet Cate - might add to the vision book I’m making.

Great news on crate training. Enjoy the golf!

Hi Cate, Just catching up on your diary while i have internet connection (it's been very hit and miss last few days!)
Lovely that you're off to a great start with the June plan! way to go!
I hope Archie does settle in fully soon and gives you consistent good nights!
hope the golfing was good :)
I often think of you when I walk by our golf course here.

Thanks, Liza. I think, after a second good night last night with Archie, I feel we may have turned the corner. K told me not to fuss too much over him & I think that has helped a bit too. That's sweet that you think of me when you walk by a golf course. I wish I was a better golfer, but I do love it.
I love the text on that shirt! :D
I do too. When R was doing a major declutter of his clothes about a year ago I said to give them to me & I would distribute them. I kept this one for a gardening T. It makes me laugh.
Good boy Archie for sleeping all night . Preservance will get you there . Yay for day 2 .
hope the golf is fun .
Thanks, Petal. I'm glad I hadn't caved. Archie was in his crate from 10.30 last night until 7.30 this morning, with only one small bark of protest last night. YAY! Good boy! Golf was fun. I played with K & another woman I don't much like but that's ok. I get on fairly well with most of the women & B1 & B2 I can cope with a lot better now. I chatted to them both & actually engaged with the captain about C19 & the hope that people will be more grateful & appreciative of what they have. It was quite a good conversation.
Neither of us can be bothered travelling into town to get the doggy door etc today. There has been no accidents at all, which is good. He spent the day outside yesterday while we were both at golf. His kennel looks quite cosy.
Day 3 of my June plan went well, with calories, steps (10,000 +) but I really can't seem to get into doing squats. Day 1 of squats had my knees hurting, so I think they are abandoned as a have to do thing.
Big dog walk coming up today I think.
BF was eggs & avocado on oat sourdough toast.
Lunch will be steak & salad.
Dinner- bits and pieces or maybe soup.

Food for the day sounds good. 9 hours of Archie in the crate is definitely a success story! :) I think it's good for him to learn there are boundaries - he has his own bed and you will be there for cuddles and walks in the daytime.

All sounds good. Maybe instead of the squats you could walk up and down the stair a couple of times (if you have any) or start with half-squats first to get your leg muscles used to them

Nice to hear your June plan continues to go well. i wouldn't force anything if you feel it in your knees. Did you used to do squats in your tai chi class? That's where I remember doing them all the time!

Enjoy the long dog walk Cate and glad he settling a bit .
the golf sounds good and everyone being pleasant is a win win

Em- I think so too. We're finding a balance.

I think that's how I will do them.

I'll persevere with the squats, but may do them as Tai Chi & as you suggest just a half stance.
Enjoy the long dog walk Cate and glad he settling a bit .

Everything feels good, Petal. I love walking with Archie, but I forget to take photos. I felt much more comfortable at golf yesterday & established some new boundaries, especially with the expectations of me doing the bar. I said no yesterday as it wasn't meant to be open yet.

Wow, they really expected you to do the bar again after all that happened???

That´s... something. I don´t know what to call it but it sure is something. I hope you said you won´t be doing it anymore instead of just saying you wouldn´t do it because the bar isn´t supposed to be open yet.

LaMa, I am the only one who has a clue how to do it unfortunately. I also wouldn't trust anyone else's cleanliness procedures. I'm giving it some considerable thought & will decide before next week. I know, I know!

I know I don't write much here but I really like your stories about Archie :3 Looking forward to hear about how he thinks about the door once it's installed!

And good job with june so far ^_^

I understand you not trusting the cleanliness procedures of others but don't forget to look out for yourself, too :svengo:

Hi Sadie. Thank you & thanks for visiting my diary. It's the best way to get to know someone.
I will take care to look after myself. That's the quandary as much as anything. I care about the women & their health as well as my own.
