Cate's Diary

so hate to think about how I would have been if we travelled on planes.
I am SO glad you didn't!

I am so in need of a great big hug from our son!
I understand that, I also have not given up hugging people, just gotten a bit more selective as to who. And I am still shaking some hands, but have to admit to washing my hands afterwards, that feels funny though.

Your place sounds pretty safe, about as safe as it gets.

Cate you wouldn’t do well here right now . 2m distance is enforced no hugging or touching . No shaking hands . I’m even being wary at home now as I am the only one out mostly so avoiding been too close to anyone . Not pleasant but we have local cases .
That’s so so sweet about the rose .

Hi, LaMa, Amy, Rob & Petal. I'm not sure yet if R & K are coming up this w/e as the wedding they were going to is still going ahead, which is surprising. They may come up for just one night on Sunday. Meanwhile, G & I have been doing jobs around the house. G got a permit to do some burning off yesterday & we are going to make sure that before next summer we do a lot of clearing of undergrowth throughout the bush. I am going to do lots of Autumn cleaning while we physically distance from others.
I have decided to contact people by phone more often & started yesterday. I rang G's brother's widow as it has been a year since her husband died. We had a good chat & it was nice. She's in isolation after returning from a trip to NZ. I didn't even know she was going. We both said that we were slack. I'll keep in touch more often. What's a call?
I don't think I'm going to do a 2nd fast this week as I just don't feel up to it. I wouldn't have been doing any while I was away so will continue on with 5: 2 after the weekend. I'm eating healthily, but need to exercise more. I do have to ring another airline today to arrange another travel credit. Oh, joy :svengo: I ended up in tears of frustration yesterday afternoon.
Edit: The airline's call centre is now out of action! I did manage to send them an online message & I'll try again later.
I rang & had 2 x 5kg boxes of salmon fillets put aside for us to pick up on Monday. That is something I do not want to run out of.

Yes we may have a lot of very clean houses by the time this is over!!

Phone calls is a great idea, especially to people who are suddenly deprived of visitors or a social life that kept them well.

Hope you can get that travel credit sorted without too much more frustration.

Hi, Liza & LaMa, I think I have it covered. I heard back & I think I'm right.
G & I just went for a nice walk. That was good!

Sounds great. I just came back from my morning walk and it´s lovely to be outside and not have to worry about safety distance all the time. Yay for everyone but me sleeping late!

Cate sounds like you have a busy time ahead of you. The flights I didn't travel on the other week I only got a quarter of the cost back. Hope you fare better than me ( excuse the pun) lol.
You are blessed now to be able to cocoon yourself away. LaMa lovely you got your walk in early. I'm sure the city is beautiful in the early morning

Good morning, LaMa, Petal & Em & anyone else reading my diary. Em, you made me laugh. More pumpkins coming everyone's way-

I'm going for some levity. We could all do with some. That and a whole lotta love!

Thanks, Cory. Making the decision was the hardest part. If the organisers of the event had cancelled as they should it would have made it much more clear cut. At least you will have time to think about it & see what happens in the next month or so.

Cate, I am loving the pumpkin love. It really does feel like Halloween, :D. Have a great day xxx
Thanks, Em. We could all do with some cheering up. We don't celebrate Halloween here, but the pumpkins were appropriate. Here's another for good luck!

Oh, this is marvellous! I really must grab a camera and take a photo of the tiny pumpkin seedling, to join his fellows! :)

Cate - I think you're beautifully located, in a good place to ride this out. :hurray: Pumpkin levity and bush serenity! Wonderful!

Hope you get your airfare back, but even if you don't I think you did the right thing. And it still should cost you less than actually going. Looking forward to seeing the photos.
