Cate's Diary

Thanks, Rob. I always have a list. Some times I write something on my list & then cross it off straight away as I have done it already. It makes me feel like I have achieved something. Tragic.

I so do this too and you know what? It seems totally reasonable to me. Nothing here to see. :) Move along, please.

Not tragic at all!! The list is so you can see the sum total of what you have achieved at the end of the day, so it makes perfect sense to put in things already done.
I'd better get off this machine and out the door - hope you're having a good weekend! :)

You do? Phew! :)
Hi, Amy. I am having a good weekend as I have managed to snap myself out of my fug.

OK. I went for a lovely big walk & saw a big echidna, but unfortunately my photos, videos etc seem to have vanished into the ether along with my phone's ability to connect to the internet. Whoops. I knew I should have gone somewhere & connected to wifi so I could update my phone. I had been warned but forgot it had to be done by today. I think this will encourage me to actually go get a new phone (not an iPhone) & new phone plans for both of us. It must be done! :(

I have also taken myself off Facebook at least for a while. I am going to engage more in real life.
The forum I see as real life. It's just an alternate life.

Lunch today was a delicious tuna salad, followed by a small fruit platter.
Dinner tonight is going to be a venison casserole with veggies.
I am about to have a glass of red wine.

Phone companies and phone connections - bah, humbug! I'd say more, but I'm avoiding politics.

Just you and the echidna, though, on the track - that's something lovely, with no need for a photo, just the reality! :)

Sounds good!

Walking is really good exercise, and the walking group should make it more fun. When we lived in Florida my wife started a walking group, she and several other women walked the beach most every morning. She misses it and still gets messages from her friends, who are still walking.

I have had a facebook account for maybe 10 years, and have posted about 3 times. I do however follow it so see what my cousins and nieces and nephews as well as some friends are doing. I think its good for that.

Thanks, LaMa, Petal, Amy(yep- getting there! G just asked me how long I would be as we're about to go & get some wood. It's like the "how long is a piece of string" question.) & Rob,
Walking makes me feel good & the walking group hopefully will be good for me too. I do get sick of walking on my own, even up here, where it's so beautiful.
Facebook is being difficult. It says I can still be on messenger, but I have actually had to reactivate it to get any messages. I'll just remove FB from my bookmarks & move the app off my front screen & only have a quick look occasionally.
Breakfast this morning was some oat sourdough toast with some tuna & a hard-boiled egg. I haven't worked out the calories yet.
I had better get moving. I am not going to check if there are any more new posts until later on today.
:grouphug:

Facebook will do everything it possibly can to get you to keep it active. Also: I was talking to the lady in the bunk below me on Saturday and she convinced me to look for a walking group near me so maybe I'll be joining you long-distance :)

Amy- less screen time, other than the forum is definitely on my "be kind to yourself" program too.
LaMa- I spoke to R today & he had decided to join a walking group in Hobart near him this week. Serendipity. I'm looking forward to it. He has also joined a group on FB that is a good karma network where people share things that they have in abundance. I need to "fix" my FB so that it can be a thing for good. I went off it mainly because I get upset when I see some of the things he puts on when he does a ninja reactivate. I also get overwhelmed with causes & catastrophising. I have "unfriended" so many people when they put shit on that I really disagree with, like right-wing nastiness & racism. Most of my real-life friends are not on it. I think if I can just stay away from it mostly I will be fine.
Lunch today was home-made seed crackers (keto), a little cheese, a little salami, tomato, lots of celery, a pickled onion & 1/2 an avocado with a little home-made vinaigrette. A small fruit platter afterwards.
Dinner tonight is going to be venison casserole with veggies( on small plates)
Tonight we are sharing a bottle of sparkling burgundy.
We got 2 loads of wood today- 1 this morning & 1 this afternoon & I also went for a walk. A very active day.

On my walk down to the letterbox, I saw a Pademelon.
On our first wood-gathering drive into our bush block, we actually saw a wedge-tailed eagle up close. That was a wonderful surprise!. Then we saw it being chased away by a noisy miner.
On our 2nd wood-gathering drive we saw the large echidna that I have now seen 5 times. Unfortunately, my bloody phone will not save any of my photos or videos. I will get a new one this week. I do feel sure that I will see it again.
Today was a very good day. I won't be online in the morning as we're playing golf at G's club & will need to leave home at 7.15 am. Eek. There is a lunch afterwards.

Enjoy golf, lovely lady. I've never tried venison..sounds like a tasty casserole though (especially with the sparkling ;))

I´d never heard of pademelon(?)s so looked them up. The cuteness!
I have very few people on my Facebook and hardly ever post anything. Basically I´m just a stalker, checking out what other people are doing and sometimes commenting :) For that I quite like it though!

I was chatting to my daughter today . A friend put up something on FB which imo should not have been posted . Another friend commented on it and asked were they ok . Her response “ I rather not talk about it “ . I don’t get it . I think the idea of following people you don’t see much of and sharing photos is nice or forums maybe is ok .

Hope your golf day is a great day Cate .

That's called vague-booking and should be punishable by immediate shunning.

Agreed, LaMa, drives me mad. Or they post something and then when people comment asking if they are okay they say "I'll PM you". Urgh.
