Petals diary

Soup freezes really well, Petal. I freeze it in varying sizes, but usually in 2's or 4's as there is two of us. I used to have individual ones to take to golf as well.

Thanks Cate I portioned mine into 7 tubs last night but I figure they be ok for a few days in fridge but will make more next time. Thank you

Such a good idea to have soup in this weather. I automatically feel so much better after having some, especially if it's homemade.

My daughter gave me a lovely suede notebook so I’m going to use it to record my food rather than the sheets I get at class . She suggested I hi light things and use stickers to make it a fun activity. I like the idea .

soup was so good today and I used the leftover chicken to make an arrabbiata sauce with pasta and spinach for dinner . I can see I’m going to be doing loads of cooking for the winter months .
I have not been hungry today except for the approach to mealtimes .

That's a lovely present indeed! And one high-class notebook sounds so much more pleasant to handle than dozens of disconnected sheets - plus with pictures and annotations it'll be a really interesting record of life as well as diet. :)

I love the idea of a creative food journal. And that it was a present from your daughter! Your soup does sound delectable! I had K's friend over today, so didn't get my soup made, but your are inspiring me to add nice things to mine tomorrow now!

Cate no it wasn't my birthday that was a while ago and yes I kept it quiet though. Husband and daughter devouring the soup so I'm going to make more today or tomorrow. Must look up more recipes.

I have sheets everywhere so a notebook will be better.

I slept well last night . I ate well today . Went to a course 30 min drive away and it was no stress , had a healthy lunch of stir fry chicken and I asked for extra veg with steamed rice and I drove 30 mins home. I sat and drank coffee and one biscuit .i did a little laundry and changed one set of bed clothes and I'm exhausted beyond belief. I'm tearful too. This has got to be menopause related I can't think of anything else. Having a lie down for awhile now .

We are going grocery shopping this eve but husband coming to drive and push the trolley and load it all. Will have a browse about too as late night shopping and hope it gives me a boost.

I get teary sometimes as well, I actually think it's a good thing. You're getting rid of some negative emotions that are trapped in your body, whether you know what they're about or not doesn't matter.

The strange thing is I tear up at romance movies, not crying like sobbing or anything, just tears. It's embarrassing, tbh. They call them tearjerkers for a reason, I guess.

That does sound like menopause to me - a time when we can feel briefly very in touch with the sadness of things, which is a thousand times better than having a stony heart that never feels. Try not to let it overwhelm you; if it gets to be more than briefly, then maybe look for some herbal or medical help.
Hugs to you - and a virtual bunch of flowers and a cup of tea. I hope you can get everyone around you to be as indulgent as they possibly can be (because plain tiredness as well as sadness).

Thank you Lama, Marsia , Em, Jack and Amy. Thankfully I do feel somewhat improved . Went shopping and we did a big shop. We had tacos when we got home which I actually built into my plan. Measured out my cheese and I had enough syns left for 2 tacos . I stuffed them with salad and salsa . Then I sat down and got a big fleece as it’s cold here and watched tv and fell asleep . I was in bed by 11 and I slept until 8.20 am .

really sticking to food plan at the moment which I’m happy with .
Watching the rugby at the moment . England ahead of Australia . Excited to see how Ireland do later.

That’s great Petal. The tacos sound yum. Enjoy the rugby.
