If it works for you that's greatTbh I think joining the club gave me a focus and something to aim for.
You do seem much happier & it's great that it's working well for you, Petal xoxoI think joining the club gave me a focus and something to aim for. I do feel happier.
Me, too! With the club, do you meet in person? I have never belonged to anything like that before.I have lots more stuff to work on like my social life which I am aware is very quiet but I kind of like that .
That is great! You should be happy.Another 2lb off this week so my August total was 5lb . Happy with that
I've only seen a couple of episodes, I think they were in Las Vegas then, Las Vegas is not far from Utah so that could be a logical move. Have you seen the HBO series "Big Love"? It is completely fictitious but does a fairly accurate job of portraying Utah's polygamous culture, they used a lot of local consultants. To be clear the modern Mormon Church does not tolerate polygamy, it leads to rapid excommunication, that's been true for over 100 years. However they did practice it in the 19th century and there are still splinter groups here who do. Not the reason I moved to Utah.I admit I have a guilty pleasure of watching sister wives . I think they have moved to Utah but I might be wrong.
I agree, so long as its truly consensual and all are of legal age I see nothing wrong with it. The problem here is that in many cases it seems to have formed the basis for cults that do illegal things, like forcing 13 year old girls to marry old men, and welfare fraud. There have even been prostitution rings here based on polygamy, the "husband" is really a pimp and young vulnerable women are attracted in being told they were joining the "family". I have a friend who is a lawyer, a public defender, who specializes in defending polygamists, he has some pretty disturbing stories. He tells me in Utah, despite laws against polygamy ,no one is prosecuted just for polygamy unless they are trying to get them for other illegal acts and the prosecutors just throw polygamy on the list. So people like those in Sister Wives don't need to hide from the law. I think it should be legalized, it would give all involved better defined and more equal legal rights and responsibilities. Even if legal I don't think it would be very common.Polygamy doesn't bother me per se each to their own
The word polygamy can mean either extra wives or husbands, so go for it! In Utah I have never heard of a woman with more than one husband, but I do know there are cultures, like Tibet, where its been practiced.Might be useful to have a few husbands to do some extra work about . I could do with a decorator , electrician and a carpenter
