I don't know where to start

I'm in a permanent fog Maria!:(

We are really hopeful that this will be a further boost to healthier, more active us. We have to keep a food diary, and it is a real eye opener just how tempting it is to pile your plate up

Hi Polly, so glad you enjoyed your meeting :) It's surprising how much sense it makes once you get started with it. How have your first few days been going?

Well, to be honest Flower its a bit like starting a new job.You know? Everything is strange and you are out of your comfort zone. It is only this afternoon that I have really understood the book we were given. I haven't weighed and neither has Marcus, but we are eating well and not hungry so whether or not the scales will be kind to us on Monday is anyone's guess:confused: We are going to Iceland in the morning. They carry the frozen range and I am very interested in the sausages. I've been told though, that as soon as it comes in, it is so popular it sells out. Am I the only one who thinks...'order more in then!'

Haha, Polly! I'm going to Iceland in February - like, actual frozen place Iceland. I totally thought that was what you meant and i was like... yes, the frozen range, yes...the sausages? Interesting sausages..Really? In Iceland? Ohhh!" And then realised you meant the shop. It's been a long day. Yes, finding those sausages is like searching for the holy grail - they are worth the wait. Although I believe the quorn sausages are also "syn free" so they may be worth a shot if you can't find the SW ones? It's all a bit overpriced anyway, you can find cheaper syn free alternatives.

I'm not falling off the forum, but, oh my gosh this Slimming World is a life style change not simply a diet and this first week has been difficult. I can't find a Slimming World forum on here, but have found a good one somewhere else. It's not as friendly as this (yet) but full of interesting things to read, idea sand tips.

Don't worry about it, Pol, being preoccupied with new things is totally normal and if it makes you feel better as well I'm all for it :grouphug:

Well! we have certainly kicked started getting rid of the stubborn last couple of stones (28lbs) I have lost 6and a half pounds this first week, and Marcus, twice that.
The Slimming World ethos is one we can certainly embrace:Nothing is forbidden, many, many foods are free or just a controlled amount and we are allowed 15 points of syns. a day. A small bar of chocolate is just 6 and small whisky 3and coke is free.
The SW forum I have joined is OK, but not as friendly as here.
I'm contemplating staying here once I have got comfortable with the regime and understand it more

Congratulations, both of you, on an awesome loss! I'd be very pleased to have you here regularly again once your head gets less crowded with all the newness. Or right away, of course :grouphug:

Oh, well done Polly & Marcus! :hurray: That's awesome! I hope you stick around with us too. We are all taking different paths but heading in the same direction. I love having you about xoxo Cate

Hi Polly. I have been wondering how you & Marcus are going with Slimming World. Are you both well? xoxo Cate

Hello everyone. I really miss this forum, I'd like to come back but my exercise regime is very basic.! I recently had a fall... injured my left knee (which is the weakest one) and badly bruised my left hip and left shoulder. Now, moving over to the right side of my body. I already had a toenail missing and a big dressing on it, and when I went down I broke my right middle finger. I was still saying I was OK when they put me in the ambulance:smilielol5:Poor old Marcus, I thought he was going to have another heart attack
I'd really love to come back here? Can I?

Of course you can, please do :grouphug: Who cares about your exercise regimen! Well, you, obviously, but that doesn´t make us less inclined to enjoy your company. How´s recovery going? Will your knee be ok?

Oh, Polly. Of course you can! We love your company. You are a part of us :grouphug: Poor Marcus. That must have given him a big fright! I think he needs to wrap you in cotton wool for a while. Glad you're back :) Are the 2 of you still going to Slimming World? I think you were only going to go for a month or 2. xoxo Cate

Yes, we're in it for the long haul. We even had to go for a weigh in on Boxing Day. It is more a life style change than a diet. We feel fitter than we have ever done, and have made some really good friends. Everyone was so friendly when we joined and it is a huge group.

We had a heck of a shock on Monday at group. They were voting for the couple of the year 2017. As I have said it is a large group, usually over 50 of us and bear in mind that we have only been going since November. The vote was an unanimous one for us! I cried when they started saying nice things. We both feel very unworthy because we are very ordinary people.
A week next Monday, we go with our neighbours for a 5 day break just off the south coast. I washed three blouses, just a freshen up wash in the machine. I didn't know that I had left a pair of navy blue pajamas in from the previous wash... blouses are ruined!
Teaming down with rain here, we are so lucky though we are one of the few places in the UK not to have had any snow.

Congratulations, Polly, I'm sure the two of you deserved the honor! You're just so bloody likeable :grouphug:

It's rained here all week too, Polly. Well done on the couple of the year award - bet you are chuffed! Well deserved x
