I don't know where to start

What a day! It started last evening when Mark broke his specs and I ruined 3 blouses. This morning I put a large load in the machine and when it started up, it went clank clunk rattle. It was a dreadful noise. So I drained it and emptied it and found that I had put one of my slippers in by mistake. They are stuffed full of newspaper and on a radiator.
This afternoon I put some brown trousers in with another dark wash and I had left a paper hankie in the pocket. It's not so bad when its a white load but this dark one is in a heck of a mess.
I'm knitting a chunky tunic in denim blue, almost finished and this afternoon everything went wrong on the last sleeve. I've undone it 3 times and its still not right. I shall be glad to go to bed.

:D What a day indeed! You and your laundry machine really aren´t seeing eye to eye. Maybe you should offer up a bottle of finest fabric softener to appease the laundry spirits?

I'm sorry I've been absent for a while. What with visitors and getting ready for our seaside break, the time has just flown by. Because most of us in the Close are going on this holiday, the coach firm is picking us up at the door... Can't be bad can it! Also so many people have seen how fit we are getting that 3 folk in the Close have joined Slimming World too. Hope everyone is well. I have a cold, but it is on the mend

That's wonderful Polly. You & Marcus have set a fine example for others to follow. How much have you lost since joining Slimming World?

When I went to Knit and Natter club last week, I didn't join in with the quilt because I had to turn the heel on a sock. Poor Marcus, his socks are a bit old so I'm busy knitting him new ones. A lady came to sit by me and have a chat and she had one heck of a cold and has given it to me. We're off on our hols on Monday so I expect I shall infect half of Hampshire before I get back

I've lost 15lbs Cate. It's such a lovely life style that I hope to lose another couple of stones and theat will bring me to the weight I was when I got married 42yrs ago

Oh Dear! We haven’t weighed since the 6th, because we have chucked out our scales. The only scales which matter are the ones when we weigh in. By gum, our clothes are tight though. We feel we have gained at least 5lbs possibly 7. I stuck to the salad bar, no dressing but… at the end of the bar was a tray of jacket spuds and these were my Waterloo, twice a day. Add, Costa coffee, lots of it and generally making bad choices when out. (There are 2 West Cornwall Co pasties to go into the equation, not to forget the spicy wedges) so it isn’t a surprise. Nothing we can do to change it before Monday. Yes, we feel failures but we’re not giving up. We had a blinking good holiday, made new friends and had lots of laughs. Now it’s time to get back on course. There’s no reason not to. We have fair winds and a following sea ahead of us and plenty of time on our side.

Thanks Cate.
We really missed our routine last week. All Monday morning we would say to each other 'usually we are doing such and such.' We go to the meeting on Monday morning, catch up with friends, pick up loads of tips, support and advice and get good motivation. AND if I'm lucky I also get to cuddle a baby.. Then it's off to town to get the fresh veg and back home for a coffee and one of those new caramel bar thingies whilst we plan our week ahead meals. Can't wait to get back to the routine

I 'tweaked' my back when I was on holiday and it took a turn for the worst a couple of weeks ago. Anyway! Tablets fro my GP and a good osteopath and my tail is back up and wagging. I was a bit worried though, I didn't want to end up back in hospital.
I have exactly 2 stones to lose (blush:oops:. When people hear you are laid up and send you chocolates, it's so rude not to eat:rolleyes: them isn't it?) So I have set a ticker to get me motivated again.
The weather here has been foul. We have had gales... storms... Have you ever heard such a daft name for a storm as Doris? But that's what the Met office called the last one. We had no damage at all, but the silver birches on the green lower down the hill took a hammering. Our river is still bank full but no floods as yet

You certainly will! Back trouble (and other kinds) will come up sometimes so getting back on track afterwards is just a fact of life. Glad to hear you had such a lovely holiday!

Morning girls. I've been feeling so guilty about not posting. I know I'll get good supprot on here.
