2016 | My Weight Loss Journey

You need to substitute your carb addiction with a nice chunk of meat and some good old fashioned saturated fat.

150.6 today.. so lost 3 pounds this week. Didn't bring much of a lunch today because was rushing out. I got my hair done! Been getting so many compliments on it all day. Definitely nice to have something distracting you while losing weight. You can feel pretty low and bored at times.

Yesterday I felt EXTREMELY bored of my eating plan. When I got home, I ate a couple slices of toast with some peanut butter, a fiber bar and rice cakes... Vanilla soy milk, basically anything I felt like eating (within reason). My system definitely needs some kind of jumpstant/reset. I was *this* close to having a cheat meal but decided not to. I don't think it's a cheat meal I need, i definitely need the opposite. I don't think I've been drinking enough water so today I'm going to focus on drinking a ton of water and tea. That's the extent of my reset lol. Filling up on water to flush out the toxins.

There are all kinds of healthy alternatives you can eat! just get creative a bit look online for recipes and stuff to spice things up a bit! dont be so hard on yourself about it and stick to your guns, in the end progress always pays off! i hope you have a great fitness journey! take care

What's the problem with cooking a decent meal for yourself, why torture yourself with... well... fiber bar, rice cakes? What happened to having some rice, chicken breast and vegetables on the side? You'll obviously be hungry all the time if you eat all those simple carbs alone.

I usually have chicken or salmon with a side of steamed broccoli and brown rice. it`s become a staple for my daily lunch. I happen to LOVE Fibre one chocolate chip cookie bar so it`s a real treat for me.. and rice cakes are in Butter Toffee flavour and they`re AMAZING! Taste just like kettle corn. Those snacks are just what happened to be on hand and they filled me up after dinner

Nice, it's just people seem to forget that they can cook very good meals at home and still lose a ton of weight. A lot of people instantly jump on crazy diets, which are ridiculous and unsustainable. But good to know that you've got it figured out!

I`m literally eating an acovado by itself right now. It would be amazing on toast but the only bread I have available to me at work is a bagel downstairs. Nope! I`m not going down that route again. I was addicted to bagels for a bit. Once you start its hard to stop. I can`t even. This avocado is so ripe. it`s smooth and buttery! it`s melting in my mouth .. so interesting how when you`re mindful of the food you eat, everyday foods become delicacies!

Lunch time!!! Filling up big time on quinoa, avocado and egg whites. Yum :) Perfect ratio of fat, carbs and protein. Yesterday went to the mall and tried on a size 8 dress which fit like a glove. I know that I am getting smaller but the scale hasn`t budged. Still 150.6. Soo I`m going to assume that my fat is turning into muscle, so while I`m getting smaller physically, the weight is the same. I`ll gladly take it! I`m even more motivated now since I know I`m getting results. Going extremely hard in the gym starting on Monday, which is apparently when the weather will warm up some. yay!

I hit 149.8 pounds this weekend :party::party::party:

This week I'm going to run every single day! Last week I didn't get a chance to at all. But I know that a combination of running, and planning my meals helped my digestion get back on track. For breakfast I usually have yogurt and granola, lunch is steamed broccoli, rice or quinoa and salmon or chicken breast. And Dinner is the same as lunch. Protein bars and eggs for snack.

Hey allicat, I am also in the chicken/fish with quinoa and salad routine. I actually love having it at lunchtime, I feel satisfied but not stuffed, so I don't get that massive slump after lunch either.

You're doing brilliantly, I'm sure you look great already, so enjoy feeling fit and healthy right now! Everything from now on is a bonus.

NOOO. It's called self-sabotage. I have no idea why we do it. Stick with it allicat. You are going great guns!

THANK YOU CATE!
Currently 149.8. Happy to be in the 140`s consistently over the last few days, after MONTHS of being in the 150`s. but I`m finally here after 2-3 weeks of actually being focused. Imagine where I will be with 2-3 months of the same focus. I am finally in a routine that works and I need to stick to it, the weather is getting warmer here which is a reminder that summer is coming.

Oh btw - I cut out brown rice. On the weekend I just didn`t feel like cooking it so now my lunch consists of steamed broccoli and herb and garlic chicken. I don`t miss the rice and cutting it out is going to help me reach my goal faster.

I NEED to go to the gym tonight, no excuses. I need to be race-ready in eight weeks. EIGHT WEEKS! I anticipate to be 16 pounds lighter by then and finally at my goal. The crunch time begins.
