oh no you didn't!!!!

FF

I had a pic floating around here awhile ago of me flipping a tire. Lei found it; I had totally forgotten about it. I don't remember if I deleted it or not. I'll get some batteries in my camera tomorrow so I can get some shots here and there. I do know there are quite a few throwing pictures of me on the forum though.

ha1...gettin dirty doesn't scare me. Dirt, sweat, and blood are typically a good indication you've had a fulfilling workout.

I'll see in the next couple of workouts with my coach if I can't get a pic of some Olympic lifting stuff or videos.

Thanks for visiting, FF.

What is a good size tire?

If you are asking about the tire size as it is used to put on equipment, it will vary based upon the different industry's in your area. Your best bet is to go to where you are getting the tires from and just start flipping them. See what ones will work best for you.

Tall skinny tires are harder to flip than short and fat tires.

The tread style has a big effect on grip and how you flip it. If you are getting used tires the amount of wear on the tread will make a difference.

I have seen a 500lb tire that just about anybody can flip, and a 500lb tire that was pretty hard to flip.

Most of the guys at those places will know how heavy they are.

I believe mine is a 22.5X25 size tire. I keep forgetting to look. I have to get the lawn mowed tomorrow, so I'll definately look then.

Evo man, I know you have not taken 5 days off.

Nope...I've had 2 lifting days, 1 throwing day, and 1 Olympic weightlifting training day. I've just been extremely busy with the first week of school and doing budget and ordering stuff. Plus, I've picked up asst coaching varsity volleyball which has just started and my middle school soccer team is about to start their practices.

So, yeah...Lei is right...just been too busy and trying to actually get to bedat a reasonable time so I'm not worn out.

How you doing evo, seems like its been a while since we last spoke. Do you even know how to play volley ball?

Hmm, I'm going to have a hard time figuring out what your quesiton is going to be...

Check the "pop ins" thread for more info.

POP IN QUIZ
Fill in the blank.

When blood glucose levels begins to decline, ________ hormone is secreted to stabilize blood glucose levels.

Teh insulin hormone. For extra points I will tell you that insulin is secreted by the pancreas. Also, insulin doesn't work alone, it works with glucagon.

I have a few diabetic people in my family, so I'm pretty familiar with blood glucose issues.

False, The correct answer was Glucagon. Nice try though, Evo.

Although, you were right in the fact they do work together. However, generally towards opposite goals.

When blood glucose levels increase beyond normal levels, insulin is generally secreted. Glucagon, works in the reverse manner by increasing blood glucose levels when blood glucose levels begin to fall below normal levels.

But at basal levels both are being secreted. However, when glucose levels fall to a certain point, glucagon is secreted in a greater amount than insulin, but insulin is not shut off from secretion.

True, However in the situation I specified. Glucagon would be the more major player and the correct answer. ;)
