Week 6 Day 1 continued
thank you!
----------
well here's how the meals actually went today:
breakfast: green tea + oatmeal (and walnut) bars
lunch: a cup of leftover brown rice/stir fry/kalbi from last night
boxing team try out
post-workout: 1 boiled egg + apple + half a protein drink
boxing gym
post-workout/dinner: last cup of leftover brown rice/stir fry/kalbi from last night + the other half of protein drink
total calories: 1176
eating slowly really does help me to avoid eating too much. i'm sure the apple also helped to curb my hunger/appetite, too.
boxing team try out
the warm up part itself made me want to give up. a friend of mine thinks the reason why they are training the newbies so hard is to weed people out and make them give up. i was on the brink of just leaving, but i stuck with it.
warm up went something like this: run up and down this long flight of stairs about ten times (up + down count as 1), plank position until everyone yelled out their name and year, push up position where the "president of the boxing club" guy goes "downnnn *pause* up" and we had to count. we had to count EVERYTHING we did. if we weren't counting loud enough, he would say "START OVER BACK ON ONE." oh my god, i yelled like it was my last chance to use my voice. from the pushups, we did plank again until everyone yelled out their first AND last name AND their year. 200 jumping jacks, counting that aloud too. more leg raises, more planks, more push ups.. bear crawl, wheel barrow, burpees, etc etc..
oh and planks and pushups were all done on GRAVEL.
that was just the warmup...fun, NOT.
the group split in half and half of us got to the skills part and learned how to jab and do some footwork, which were easier for me because well, i'm in a boxing gym, so i already knew how to do them.
then, we switched with the other half of the group. this time it was running. we ran 2 miles in like 15 minutes, which was BRUTAL on my legs because i just finished the 5k yesterday.
then i went home to chill for a little bit before heading out for my boxing gym, where we did a whole lot of jogging (please, no more running) and stick works to work on our forms.
I AM POOPED.
good thing the boxing tryout is 3 times a week.. but it's TWO HOURS LONG EACH
i hope i can survive this, i am NOT GIVING UP.
anyway, hope everyone else is doing great.
Good luck and have fun at your try outsand well done on your 5k run
thank you!
