Yarm's No More Excuses!

Had a great and fun workout this mornin'. This particular one is called Disco Groove and I was able to keep up 100% of the time with all the moves.

Will be leaving this evening for my trip to Connecticut over the weekend. After picking up the the rental car will be headed to my Mom's house and staying there most of the night, getting up @5am to head up to CT. I will treat Saturday as a rest day, and head to the gym at the hotel Sunday mornin'.

Plan to make good choices when it comes to eating over the weekend. No excuses to stall my progress! Monday is weigh in, but have to work, so may be another late time that I do so.

Completing the DVD's is my mini challenge:
23 days complete, 5 to go

I'm exhausted- emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc.

Just got back after being in the car for 10 hours on the trip back from Connecticut. This weekend was the annual party that my parents attended at their best friend's house up in CT, but for obvious reasons could not be there but I was asked to please attend. My Dad's best friend said that it was becuase of what I said at the eulogy that he considered to host the party instead of canceling it because of all the tragedies.

Anyway, we made real good time going up, leaving at 6am Saturday morning and getting their before noon. The weather was great, the people great and the music outstanding. The music was provided by the people in attendance: family and friends, but in past years it was my folks who were the focal point (they were super talented people). They have bagpiping friends also, and in years past my Dad too would participate in that part. As soon as I heard the pipes heading down the street I lost it. When the arrived in the yard, they played a few more tunes. Then a gentleman spoke up and talked about how they are missing my Dad there, and he did a tribute ON my Dad's pipes: Amazing Grace- I was inconsolable.

After lots of hugs and tears, the party picked back up. There were also some funs songs we did that my Mom was famous for and had a few laughs, which she would have appreciated. The party started to wind down and we headed to the hotel room. This was the highlight of the night as in addition to myself and my sister for whom we booked the room, we also invited my other sister Shannon, my brother Patrick and cousin Missy to stay- we had an air matress. We were up till almost 1am laughing hysterically- it was like we were all kids again. Then we got a phone call and another cousin had to drive my uncle to the hotel to find a room- he was kicked out of the party- long story but things worked out by the next morning. So the cousin who drove him, well . . we invited HER to our room as well. There we were 6 of us ages 24-39 giggling in dark, telling stories from our memories and having such a wonderful time-these memories I will cherish forever. I felt like I was 15 again.

I woke up at 3 30, back to sleep. Woke up at 6 30, tried to go back to sleep but couldnt. So I went to the gym and worked out for over an hour. Got back to the house to where the party was to collect some things before heading home. I forgot a map and asked a friend of the family for an alternate route home to avoid the traffic. Oh, it was alternate alright . . .I ended up the the Jersey Shore and added about another 2 hours to the trip and then were stuck in beach traffic. I got home at 10pm after leaving CT at noon.

I made good choices then it came to eating. I can't recall it all, but I will say i allowed myself a few treats. I'm supposed to have weigh in today, but because I have work, and a school function AND have to return the car I'll have to find another time this week.

Completing the DVD's is my mini challenge:
25 days complete, 3 to go

Yarm, I was driving in that traffic yesterday in Connecticut and it was just stupid. Luckily I had reservations on the ferry so I wasn't on 95 for too far.

It sounds like a great time at that party.

I did it! I want to get a measurement and post results after 30 days so I will have to pick one of the workouts to do on Friday & saturday, or just hit the NT for one or both of those days.

I did have weigh in yesterday and it said I was up 2 lbs, which I find hard to believe. I thought I maybe up a little because of the weekend away and not as much structure, and the fact that the weigh in was not my normal morning weigh in, but whatever. I have lost some pounds and I hope that maybe the measurements will show some inches lost too. I will weigh myself again on Sunday mornin at the 30 day mark, and possibly take a picture.

I have been writing down my food intake, but not had a chance to post here on the boards.

Godo news: As per my new routine, got up and got workout in.
Bad news: havent been making the best food choices past couple of day.

I have to stop this bad habit of sabotaging my progress after a few weeks of great work! One day can easily become 2 or more. Back to focusing and planning for me! I want to see awesome results when I mark my 30 days!

Well, so much for my pseudo peptalk of last post. This past week has been a total flop. I have kept to the exercise schedule but eating has been way off base and have no real excuse for it. I could blame it on my PMS but it's more likely that I have allowed myself to fall into bad habits like mindless snacking and not recording my intake.

Tomorrow I take my measurements. I know from stepping on the scale that I am up, but I have to live with those consequences. All I can do is take respsonsiblility and get these next 30 days started and get back on top of things. I am going shopping today and will be sure to pick up lots of fruits and veggies.

This weeks mini goal is to track and measure every tidbit that I eat.

Today marks the beginning of my next 30 days.

Here are the results from the first 30:
Starting stats-
Weight: 180lbs
Bust: 43 inches
Waist: 33.5 inches
Hip: 44 inches
Thigh (R):26 (L):26
Arm (R):13.5 (L): 12.75

After 30 days:
Weight: 174lbs (-6)
Bust: 42 inches (-1)
Waist: 33.5 inches (-0)
Hip: 44 inches (-0)
Thigh (R):25.25 (-.75) (L):25(-1)
Arm (R):13.5(-0) (L): 12.5(-.25)

I am committed to another 30 days and will be building on these results.

Yarm, that's really great. I really feel like this next month is going to work better. The kids are back in school, no trips or barbecues, and you'll be able to get on a more stable routine. Keep it up, you are doing great.

Been busy with new fall schedule. I have been exercising everyday, but need to work on better eating habits. Some days have been worse than others, but nothing catastrophic.

I plan to build on the mini challenges. I will continue to exercise as I did last month, and this month's mini challenge will be to include healthy eating habits daily like at least:
-1 fruit everyday
-1 dairy everyday

Hey, Yarmi. Your personal mini challenges are always so inspiring. This time is looks a bit easy. Aren't you getting that already? What about putting some time limit, like one fruit and one dairy before 10 am? I don't mean to put down your challenge, and I think you are doing great, I just think you might be going a bit simple on this one.

(If this is out of line, just give me a smack. I probably deserve it. :svengo:)

WTG!!! :hurray::hurray::hurray:

That is awesome you are tracking your progress every 30 days - and it shows that you have been super diligent!

Been avoiding logging in because I know I have been "bad". After having such great success in the first 30 days, I've since completely sabotaged all that progress. It's almost like I go into a zombie mode and just eat mindlessly- there dosn't even seem to be an internal argument going on in my head, I just eat whether I'm hungry or not.
Could be related or not, but I have been having a hard time the past week or 2 missing my Mom and Dad. Regardless, that is no excuse, but I need to find what is causing the trigger because it's obvious to me that once that "mode" takes over, it's SO hard for me to get back on track with eating. Thank God I have been exercising 6 days a week, I can't imagine that damage if that wasn't going on.

This time is looks a bit easy
See above, not really. Nothing is easy when trying to get back on track for me. I made that "mini challenge" when I had just started slipping . . well I'm flat on my ass now.

Accountablility time: weigh in 179.4lbs up 5lbs !

My promise to myself today is to not eat mindlessly- plan everything that goes into my mouth. I will also go back and reread my threads from 30 days ago and hope to find my motivation.

/sigh

Well, shut my mouth. :smash:

I had a slipping weekend, but one day of being good and I feel like I'm back on. I guess that's what they mean by taking it one day at a time.

Good luck with the food today.

Each day is a victory, halfway thru this one.

Got up and did DVD exercise 45min today.

Breakfast: cottage doubles, 2 slices of blueberry bread, coffee
Lunch: Lean Cuisine, nectarine, rice cake
Snack: cheese its
Dinner: cup crab/vegetable soup, garden salad
Snack: chocolate pudding and lite cool whip

Once again, moving forward. I still have a full 3 months+ before Christmas to get my butt in shape!

Keep at it Yarm!
I can't imagine how hard its gotta be for ya.
But you know you have done it in the past so you can absolutely do it again.

Over spelt this mornin'. Ate pretty good today, but should not have had so many snacks. After making dinner, had to meet the tree guy outside who is to give an estimate for the removal of 6 60ft high pines that are dripping sap all over my car, and leaving tons of pine needles to clog the gutters.

Although I didn't get my workout this morning, I just got back from taking the dog for a 2 mile walk.

breakfast: 1 slice blueberry bread, milk
snack: pretzels
Lunch: turkey on whole wheat, yogurt, sugar free pudding
snack: M & M's
Dinner: 3 oz portion of steak, whole wheat pasta, sautee'ed zuccini

I made pasta and zucchini tonight, too. I did it with sweet and sour country ribs, but I skipped it. hee, hee.

You've been getting your yogurt in, very good, but where's the fruits?
