Probably the reason why it didn't post is because it should have a [ img] in front of the link as well as behind the link - not [ url ], then no > at the end. But we can click too - no biggie!
 
We've installed new doors and windows this year too. We have like 4 more windows to go to be "complete" but we can't afford them all at once. I'm sure it will help with our energy bill - since there was barely any insulation at all in the older windows.
 
Day 62 (Thursday)

Let's see . . .
Today was supposed to be a really good one, as they gave me the morning off. My plan was to do my Thursday cleaning chores early, then exercise and head to work at lunchtime. My youngest decided to side track me .. byt slamming her thumb in the car door when dropping her off. The nurse told me it would be ok, but I got a call an hour later asking me to take a look myself and decide if she needed to see a doctor. It looked bad, a little swollen and mostly all under her nail is purple, but she could move it ok. I decided to take her home and wait for the dr. to call me back. She will likely lose her nail. The doctor did call back, and after I described to him what I saw, he suggested to wait and see and keep an eye on it. So that was the bad news- the good news is I did go back home after picking her up from school and finish the cleaning. I managed to get in my water and stay on track with food and reluctantly got on the NT for 40 min while the spaghetti sauce simmered for dinner. I relaxed the rest of the night.

Day 63 (Friday)

A regular day, with a not so regular lunch. Ended up going out for chinese with the girls at work. The good news, I had hot n sour soup, chicken and stringbeans, and I gave away ALL the fried rice. THe bad news- I ate an egg roll. I did count and track all the calories(best I could) drank my water and got my exercise in. Because I ate more at lunch, I only had a soup for dinner while others had pizza.

Got more news on Dad- looking like cancer on his kidney. More tests to follow but likely be treated with new medication, and if necessary chemo. It's a waiting game for more info at this point.

As far as my mood- I'm plugging along on this journey, even though I was hoping for more encouraging results on the scale. I'm a bit stressed with the extra hours at work, my hubbys work situation and now my Dad's health but I'm no where near the breaking point that would threaten my success. I am keeping focus.

Day 64 (Saturday)

Well, I woke up to find a weight gain! :mad: As posted in other threads, in addition to being mad and frustrated it made me sad- only for a moment. I feel I am working SOOO hard and would like proof of that work on the scale, but it is not reading the numbers I want to see. This is no excuse for a relapse or to throw in the towel and give up, as I have made healthy choices and have lost 8lbs since starting.

I will admit that I prob ate a bit too much at the birthday party I went to Saturday evening, but I didn't gorge myself. My portions were on the large size and I allowed myself a small piece of cake(no icing) and a scoop of ice cream.

My own personal challenge this week is to be 100% accurate in my journaling and if its NOT on the list, there will be no estimating, therefore I will not eat it if its not on the list. I will also try to cut back the calories a tad to see if that helps, shooting for no more than 1300.

HI Yarmiah, I am so sorry about your dad. I hope you will get some encouraging news soon.

As to the weight gain, I am as disappointed for you as you are yourself. How could you have gain with such a perfect week!!! There is absolutely no explanation to this... And I admire your attitude about it. You are not giving up, oh no.. you are making some changes and trying a different way. That is some strenght not many have (including myself). You totally deserve to see the numbers going down, you are working so hard at it!! Don't give up! It will happen I know it.:hug2:

Day 65 (Sunday)

What a beautiful day. Got up and headed to church after having a yogurt for breakfast. Stopped at Wal-Mart to grab a few things. Headed home and started on the laundry got all but 3 loads finished.

Mood is pretty good- still VERY disappointed with yesterday's weigh in and to some of the responses to my thread about a plateau- one made it seem like working out 5-6 for 30-45 min a day is not really doing anything to help- I find that hard to beleive and if it IS true, I dont know what I can do to work out harder or longer, at least right now with what life is dealing me.

I did lower the calorie range to see if it helps any, but still plan to work out 5-6 days a week. Maybe also be more regular in my strength training.

HI Yarmiah,

I noticed you recorded a 1000 cal days two days in a row. Please don't do that to yourself. Eat at least 1200 calories or your weight loss efforts will back-fire and you still will not see a loss. I am not one of those who cries "starvation" diet or anything, I just know I tried to do what you are doing and restricting my calories to 1000 cal/day. It did not work. Besides being hungry all the time and having frequent headaches I did not lose an oz.
1388 calories seem to be a good number to shoot for.

Ok so not quite 1300 but 1158. I'm sure in the real world it was a little higher as some of the things I journal are not 100%- I do my best to estimate/match what I ate with what they have on the list. So, I hope to leave about 100 calories wiggle room, but did not intend for it to be as low as it was.

Day 67 (Tuesday)

So, today was an ok day. I never was able to get my exercise in, but I'm not gonna feel guilty about it. Work is stressful atm. Home is not as bad, but it's frustrating rushing home to throw dinner together, then rush out to take the elder daughter to piano, stop at the store, then throw in a load of laundry.Then my mom calls- not sure if she was drinking or not (shes an alcoholic) but was real weird on the phone, and my dog- who rarely has accidents peed on the strairs. I was SOO ready for bed.

I blame it for eating bad when it doesn't say what I want it to say
so maybe hide it and hop on once a week or every other week(needs
to do myself lol)!I mainly eat around 1,200 cals but not really on purpose
I get alot of food for that3 meals and 2-3 snacks.:) 1,00 is a little low

Right now I want you to stop, take a deep breathe, hold it and slowly let it out. Okay now repeat! :)
There, now go to your dayplanner, come on I know you have one~no one can be as busy as you are and NOT have a dayplanner LOL, open it to today's entry @ about say 9 or 10pm and pencil in " Hot Bubble Bath".
Now don't forget to bring something to read and a nice cd with some gentle music playing. Maybe even a candle or two. Oh and make a sign (it's okay to print from your computer doesn't need to be hand-made) that says, "I am out of order......please come back in an hour." Hang that on the outside of the bathroom door.
Last step and it is the most important!!!
LOCK THE DOOR!!!!!

A hot bath sounds wonderful! But alas, my tub is one of this acrylic wrap around things and is too small. Besides, no time tonight- I have choir practice after work and dinner. I am only working a half a day on friday- maybe Ill get a pedicure! I've never had one!
 
Day 68 (Wednesday)

A cold dreary day, but it did not stop me from exercising this morning. Headed to work, a pretty regular day- as regular can be these days. Due to the weather it put me in teh mood for chicken soup, so I made homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner- it was delicious! (and healthy of course).I had to estimate the calories for dinner- for the soup and the bread, hope I did ok. Had a fun time at choir, but after I got home a got a disturbing email from my dad about my mom. Both are alcoholics, but it seems mom is acting really wacky having conversations wtih imaginary family members and such. You don't want to be bothered with the details, that go back many years, but I will be telling her in the next few days that it's either REHAB or ME. No worries, I will NOT allow this kinda crap to interfere with my progress and determination.

Day 69 (Thursday)

Got up and exercised YAY! Another rainy day, but is very welcome! A regular day, after getting home did my normal thursday cleaning chores. Ordered pizza for dinner, but I got a garden salad and added some deli turkey meat instead of the pizza. :) Scale is still reading low- no idea why I'm checking it . . I hate that dang thing LOL. Hopefully it will give me nice numbers on Saturday. The only TV shows I watch on a regular basis is CSI (las vegas) and ER (Luka is SOOO cute, but not been on lately :confused:). I rushed to get donw, make my popcorn and CSI was a repeat anyway. :eek:
