HI Yarmiah!!

I think you are doing awesome with your calories and exercises. I am sure you will see the results!!! You might be just like me and have a low BMR (those calculation are guidelines but I found them way off for myself). What a willpower with that pizza!!! I am craving pizza nowadays so it is strickly banned from my house.
I TIVOd ER so I am watching it tonight.
I feel for you about your parents. My father is an alcoholic but somehow he pulled himself together about 15 years ago and has not touched it since. Regardless the effects are following him till the very day, he has all kinds of health problems and he is only 51 yrs old. But I remember those awful times and the stress it causes for the whole family. Also felt so helpless not being able to do anything about it. We just have to remind ourselves that they are grown people and if they don't want to help themselves nothing and nobody can help them.

Anyway Have a great day and I can't wait for your weigh in tomorrow!! I know it will be an awesome number!!!

That pumpkin latte sure sounded nice until the calorie count...
I used to drink Dunkin's Dunkaccino large.. boy that thing is so sweet and I think I looked it up and had like 500 calories in it. Stopped drinking it immediately... :)
Now when we go somewhere for coffee I just get it black and I always have Stevia (natural, calorie free sweatener) in my car... problem solved.. calories kept low.

Congrats on your weight loss this week!! 3 lbs!! Very impressive. I think you did a breakthrough here and from now on it will be coming off nice and steady..
Have a great day and I will be checking in and also see you at the Christmas Challenge in a week!!

Day 71 (Saturday)

Was an early day today. It is the day of the Alzheiemer's walk. My team of family members raised over $1300 for research to hopefully put an end to this disease that took my Grandad. It POURED off and on, but just as we finished our 2.4 mile walk, it ended. I had a yogurt before leaving the house, then we went to breakfast afterwards. I think I chose well picking pancakes and canadian bacon and decaf coffee. I did use 1 pat of butter but used sugar free syrup. Knowing I had such a big breakfast, I mostly skipped lunch, having an icecream treat instead and a lite dinner. Was a great day and was wonderful to honor my Grandad.

Oh yeah . . I LOST 3 lbs this week! Down to 171 lbs.!

What a chilly morning! Hopped on the NT for 30 min- got some new songs that keep me moving! Regular day other than that. Been slacking in the water dept. Got more in yest than I did over the weekend, but still not the whole bottle. Will work on that for sure! Came home and after dinner we carved our pumpkin- the kids are looking forward to Wed. Oh yeah, after I got home, before the pumpkin stuff, I sepnt about an hour in the yard mulching and raking leaves! I ate a bit more than my alotted calories- I did not realize there was such a big difference in lite vs fat free hot dogs- will be FF from here on out for me! Also I had a case of the munchies late, I gave in but not so bad, having rice cakes and 1 cookie.

Nia and Haj- thanx for stopping by! You can be sure I will be walking against Alzheimers as long as it is needed. The disease makes victims of the entire family! We should be able to figure out some sort of recipe for our own version of pumpkin latte! I've had them and they are pretty good. I bet pumpkin spice would work with a little sweetener. Hmmm? I'm going to work it - see what I get. :cheers2:

Day 74 (Tuesday)

Today was a pretty good day. A little stressful at times at work, and at home but was manageable. Did much better with my water today, and of course knocked out the exercise early.

SweatPea- I'm a 90's alternative fan, but love all kinds of music really (save Rap). I had loaded in some more Dave Matthews, Billy Ocean, Marcy Playground and other CD's into the iPod.

Last night I got some more bad news about Dad- he has cancer not only on his kidney, but on his back bone and in his lungs. Life is about to become REALLY CHALLENGING, but I won't allow this to interfere with my progress thus far. I hope and will strive to remain focused on my goal, even when dealing with this crisis as it will help if I am healthy to start with.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad. :angelsad2:
How is the rest of your family handling all this? Your mom especially?
Most of all how are you doing?
I know we are thousands of mile apart but if you need to vent and have no one to turn to you are more than welcome to PM me anytime!
I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Day 75 (Wednesday)

Happy Halloween!

SO, I was too tired this morning to exercise. I got little sleep after getting the news about Dad late last night. I did get some exercise later when I took the kids trick-or-treating for an hour or so walking. My boss treated to lunch and I opted for a veggies sandwich and only ate 1/2 the bread (1 slice of 7 grain) and all the veggies with a little honey mustard. Had a good time, even tho my Dad is on my mind always.
I'm starting to see a pattern with snacking that I wouldlike to change. I'm not sure first of all, if I'm eating from habit or hunger, AND if it is hunger, I should opt for healthier snacks instead of simple carbs. Will work on this.

Hey there Yaramiah,
I am so sorry about the bad news with your dad,
he sounds like a strong man.Stay strong for the both of ya's.
Congrasts on sticking with your plan and not over doing it with
the candy a few doesn't hurt.I hope you have a nice day Tammy:hug2::hug2:

HI Yarmiah,
I am sorry about the bad news I wish there was something I could do to make it better...:hug2:

About snacking: do you like cottage cheese ? I lately eat that as a dessert and mix in like 2-3 tbs ff whip cream. 1/2 c. ff cottage cheese is like 70-80 cals. You can even use a little sweatener but the whip cream makes it pretty sweet, I love it and it is awesome protein.
And some salsa with homemade pita chips (I buy low carb, calorie tortillas, cut them up and bake it in the oven for like 5 min...) is a good snack. i also eat yogurts as a snack.
The Christmas challenge is starting this weekend!!!

After work, I had to rush and make dinner and get as much of my cleaning done before headedin to church for Mass. Therefore, I was unable to have dinner- I did have a spoonful or 2 of the chili but that was it. After church I came home, got in PJ's popped some pocorn and watched my shows.
