Yarm's No More Excuses!

HI Yarmiah.

I do a lot better with my food at work then at home. I have everything planned for the day and I pack my lunch everyday so there is no other choice but sticking to it during the day. There are no sweats around or any food at work so if I wanted something I would have to go out of my way to buy it, so I never do. It really keeps me on track. Weekends are always harder as I find myself picking at this food and that and cleaning up my daughter's plate etc.

Back to your weigh in on Saturday. I really felt for you. I know how hard you worked and I am so happy to see that you don't let this stop you. When I had my 4 weeks plateau every weigh in was such a blow to me, I took it very hard and was a hair away from giving up. Now 15 lbs later and lighter, I am glad I did not give up. I think that is where you are right now. Your body feels comfortable at this weight and holding on strong. Keep doing what you are doing and one day it will start giving in and the lbs will start to fall.
Also the other thing is to get your thyroid checked. Especially if you know you kept on track and did everything correctly, you should have seen a loss.

Hope your day went well and have a great week!!

Congrats on the inches lost!!

Hajni

I can so relate to eating better when working. You pack a lunch and because your not craving food at the moment it is usually nice and healthy and on track. As apposed to being at home where the other people in the house have doritos and ice cream ect. Work and a packed lunch just may be a dieters best friend.

Don't get discouraged keep working as hard as you are and sticking to your points and in no time you will be at your goal weight/

Day46(Monday)

Today was an off day. Had gentlemen here to put in the windows and my exercise routine was thrown off. There was cake on the counter that I had a piece of. In retrospect, I'm not sure why I ate it- I was not craving it, I dont feel like I've been denied, so boredom possibly? I did count the points, but feel I "wasted" them as it was not on something that I REALLY wanted. I did go out an mow the lawn, as that was something I COULD do while they were working on the windows. Later in the afternoon, after they left, I did get on the NT and knock out 40 min on the NT AND finished another 15 min of the mowing.

Breakfast - 1/2 cup milk(2), 1 hardboiled egg(2), 2 ricecakes(2)

Later I got a hair cut and did some grocery shopping. I got more exercise in when taking walking up to school and back to get the girls. I was excited to win an ebay bid on a halloween costume that I will surprise the girls with- they are fans of the Muppett Show and I got a Swedish Chef costume for 20 bucks. I also am monitoring calories on the selfdietclub site- I'll be entering that info as well.

HI Yarmiah,

Congrats on having the exercise done!! You are doing great!!
You asked my in my diary about when I started exercising twice a week. I actually had to read my diary to find out. :) I think it was the middle of August.
I started with the serious exercise last September. Before that I just took an occasional walk in the nearest park. I joined the gym in last Sept and started going 5 times a week right away. Lost some lbs, by Christmas my motivation was running out. Jan-Feb I only made the gym about 3 days a week. March I did not go at all. Started going again at the end of April. May I went on vacation and gained all sorts of lbs. June I started running in the morning, every day and went to the gym to boot-camp twice a week. Then we bought a treadmill in August and I started working out twice a day.
So it did take almost a year from when i really started exercising to do it twice a day.
On May 26 th (coming home from vacation) I was 174 lbs. Now on Oct. 5 th, a little over 4 months later I am about 23 lbs lighter. If I can do it, anybody can!!!
Wishing you a really good weigh in day tomorrow!!

Day 50 (Friday)

Yikes! I overslept this morning'. I said to myself, well, I guess you'll jsut have to get your workout in after you get home- but then I shook that off and said, "get your butt outta bed and get on that NT! I dont care if its only 10 minutes, and THEN you can work out when you get home too!". And that's exactly what I did. I was able to get in 25 min in the morning. Had a healthy eating day, and got my water in by 5pm. I must admit, by the time I got home I really didnt feel much like exercising- but I shook that off too after 10 minutes, and bit the bullet and knocked out 45 minutes on the NT. I AM TAKING NO PRISONERS this time, in my weight loss journey! :rotflmao:

Day 51 (Saturday)

Today was long day. Had to get up and get to work by 8am- earlier than weekdays. I did not have time for cardio, but I did knock out some strength training/floor exercises. My eating was off because of my schedule today, I gave blood and did some shopping and wrapping for a birthday tomorrow. I had to make a "bad" choice in the cookies as they offer you that kinda thing after you give blood to replenish.

Lunch - ww potato entree(4),beef jerky(3)

Day 52 (Sunday)

Today was the party for my youngest and her 2 cousins. I didnt have time for breakfast, then ran to church, and hit the pharmacy on the way home. Then packed up the car and headed for party. I had a little granola bar in the car, and basically only had one meal (at the party). The portions and items were too difficult to try to calculate the points, but I able to estimate the calories etc on the selfdietclub tool. All in all, I did pretty good- tho could have eaten more veggies. I didnt feel "tempted" at the party to over indulge, nor deprived at all. Hopefully this is a permanent change!

Breakfast - none
Snack - low fat granloa bar
Lunch - small portions of: ham, steak, rice, & potatoes, fruit salad
Snack - 2 bites of chocolate cake, 2 spoons of ice cream
Dinner - none
Dessert - rice cake drizzle

HI Yarmiah!!,
Yay for giving blood. Since I moved to this country i tried to give blood numerous times but was always refused since I lived in Europe through the 80's. I am not sure why and I know i am as healthy as they come and it does bother me that I tried to help and was not able to. They won't even give me a chance to test my blood to see if it "passes" then I can be a regular blood donor. Anyway sorry for that rant.

I didnt feel "tempted" at the party to over indulge, nor deprived at all. Hopefully this is a permanent change!

Good for you!! I have to say I always feel tempted!! But then when I do good at those events I feel so proud of myself afterwards.
What is a rice cake drizzle? I eat rice cake on a regular basis but I never heard of a drizzle. :)

You are doing great with your exercises, fitting them in any way you can. Surely you are keeping on track!! Do you feel less hungry for the rest of the day after a morning exercise? or at night? I find myself less hungry after exercise then before. Go figure.. LOL

Have a great day!!

Day 53(Monday)

Well, we are trying something new.
Since I am basically doing the WW form home AND the selfdiet thing,
it's kind of redundant, and for the next week or so, I will only be

HI Yarmiah, here is the recipe for you. Of course you can modify any of the ingredients I have the calorie count as well.
Apple Stuffed Acorn Squash

Ingredients :
1 acorn squash (172 cal)
2 small apples (160 cal)
1/4 cup stevia or other non-calorie sweatener (0)
1/2 tbs I can't believe it's not butter light (25 cal)
dash of nutmeg, cinnamon

Directions:

Slice the acorn squash in half, and scrape out the seeds and the strings. Place face down in casserole pan filled with 1/2 inch of water and place in a 350 degree oven for about 20-25 minutes. While the squash is steaming there, peal and slice the the apples and mix in sweatener, cinnamon, nutmeg and about 1/2 tbs butter. Take the squash out of the oven, place face up, and fill the cavities with the apple mixture, Cover very lightly with foil, and bake until the apples and the squash are soft and cooked, approximately another 1/2 hour.
Serves : 2
1 serving is about : 180 cal. Depends on the apples it could be 200.
This is great with a nice garden veggie salad. Acorn squash is pretty sweet so this could be dessert even. Very filling.
I modified this recipe from vegweb.com
It is a big hit in my house, my DH asks for it regularly. It is relatively easy to make.

Howdy Yaramiah my peanutbutter friend lol!
I love peanutter to and I swear it helps with the
cravings and doctors up the healthy foods to when
