Yarm's No More Excuses!

Day 36

Just another regular day. Up and adam at 6 30am and got my 30 min on the Nordik Trak. I ate pretty healthy too, and allowed my self a treat in some Mrs. Prindible's caramel apple. Lunch was rushed and not a "real" lunch as we were rushing out to see a co-workers new puppies.

Breakfast - 1/2 whole wheat bagel with lite cr. cheese, 1% milk
Snack - small piece of caramel apple
Lunch - WW yogurt, rice cake, pretzel
Snack - SF, FF gelati
Dinner - chicken breast, whole wheat pasta, broccoli
Dessert - small piece caramel apple

Friday stats-

Hi, Yarmiah. Nice work with your weight loss so far! I just wanted to say hi because it looks as though you're from Baltimore. ;) I know you use your Nordic Track, but do you ever run outdoors? I'm looking for a running partner who can keep up with me but not outrun me, at least not too much.

Day 37

Weigh in today for the Halloween challange- a little disappointing that I had no loss- I worked so hard this week exercising on the NT 30 min 5-6 days. Surprisingly, I'm not more upset and ready to "take revenge" by downing a bad of chips :rofl:. I truly feel that subconsciencely, a light bulb went on in my mind that keeps me focused on the long term goal and reaching it, intead of daily struggles and minor disappointments.
I will continue what I have been doing these past week, and try to plan my meals the day before and see if that helps.

Went to a dog agility show to try to get more information about the sport- I would like to get my dog invovled in the future as its good exercise and focus for him, as well as for me! Then I headed home to do a few chores, then to my in-laws for a brithday celebration for my youngest who is turning 7.

Breakfast - cheerios w/ 1% milk
Snack - rice cake
Lunch/Snack - Rita's soft ice cream (not the healthiest choice for "lunch" lol)
Dinner - chicken, salad, potatoes, broccoli
Dessert - (skipped the cake and ice cream as I had Ritas in teh afternoon)

Weekly Goal 1: exercise 30 min 3x this week - EXCEEDED!

Weekly Goal 3: get 2 servings dairy in everyday - failed 8( got in some dairy most days, but only 2 days did I get both servings in)
Weekly Goal 4: ACCURATELY measure/portion every morsel before you eat it-FAILED(probably contributed to no loss this week?)
Weekly Goal 5: same as last week!!!!


Oh- and lungsfortherace- I will have to continue to strengthen my body and build up some more endurance before I could consider a real run. My ankle was broken back on 2004 and after extended periods of vigorous exercise, it does swell a bit and bother me, which is why the NT seems to be working out atm as its kinda low impact on the foot. Running is great exercise and would benefit me if my ankle can put up with it. And yes, I'm in northern Carroll County MD, about 45 min from downtown.

I must've read the weigh-in wrong then, I thought you had a loss. Oh well staying the same is good too!

I can tell you are really focused and a no loss week is not going to let you down and back to old habits. It used to kill my motivation and I slacked off the following 2 weeks un-doing everything good I did. I am glad you have the right mind-set and see the long term benefits. This is why you will succeed!!
I can tell from experience. It has happened to me too. There were weeks where I worked just as hard as I have been other weeks and I have not lost an oz. Why, I have no idea. But the following week the loss caught up and I just kept going. Just keep going and you will see the same. (I mean you will see loss.. :D)
As I wrote in the Casper tread, I really appreciate your enthusiasm and great attitude!! It is really uplifting on days when i feel like slacking on my food or exercise.

I thought for sure that I would have something. But nope nothing at all. Though you are working way harder at this than I am.
This week I am going to commit myself to working out everyday Monday thru Friday. And see what happens.
Hopefully the scale will catch up with both of us!!
 
Day 38

Was running late when I woke up, so missed breakfast before heading to church. Stopped at the pharmacy to pick up meds for hubby on the way home, as well as stopped and got a salad for lunch, while the rest of the family had chicken and baked french fries. Finished up some laundry and relaxed and watched football, where the Ravens nearly had me losing my mind at the end there :eek:. had a regular dinner and took a walk with the kids and dog afterwards.

Breakfast - none
Lunch - garden salad + chicken/egg
Snack - lite chips
Dinner - 93% lean burger, lite bun, baked potato w/ lite sour cream. broccoli
Snack - slim-a-bear

Day 39

So, I think I'm gonna be more specific in my journaling of food noting the portion and point values.(I'm doing Weight watchers from home). For my weight atm, my allotted points is 24 daily, plus a bonus 35 to use/or not use throughout the week. Was a pretty busy day today, got alot done around the house. OF course I got on my 35 min on the NT as well as a walk in, and drank my bottle of water.

Breakfast - WW yogurt (1pt)
Lunch - WW quesadilla (4), apple (1), 2 tbls p.b.(4), ricecake drizzle (1)
Snack - airpopped popcorn (1/2 cup unpopped) (2)
Dinner - 1 cup whole wheat pasta (3), 1/2 cup meat sauce(3), garden salad(0) light dressing(2)
Snack - Slim a Bear (3)
Exercise - 35 min NT (+2), 30 min walk x2 (+2)

Points allowance daily = 24

Day 40

So today was a little stressful in the morning. I woke up a little later and ran the older DD to school, then came home and was unable to walk the littler DD to school, as I had to get home fast so I could get my workout on the NT in. I did get home and hop right on, but couldnt squeeze the 35 min in as I had to hurry as the dog have a vet appt at 10:20am. (I did get 30 in tho!). I hopped in the shower, and grabbed the dog and was headed down the road, but after 5 min or so, came to a stop as the road was closed due to an accident. So I try to fnd a back way, and eventually found the right way, but the road was closed to one lane because of traffic! I ended up being 15 min late, but they took him back and he got 3 shots and did fine. After gettin home, I went out and did some grocery shopping. I probably should have eaten more, but I'm really working hard to see a loss this week!

Lunch - 1 cup 1% milk(2), 1 TB choc syrup(1), rice cake drizzles(1), garden salad(0), 1 tb lite dressing(1)
Snack - 1/2 cup airpopped popcorn (4)

Day 41

Today was a good day, but for the first time in a long time, I had cravings in the afternoon. I'm not sure if its due to the lunch of mostly carbs that I had, or that I'm due for my "monthly visitor" next week or what. The good news, is that I didnt cave! As per my routine, I got up and got in my 35 min on the NT first thing in the morning. I was also good with my water, gettin all 34oz in.

Breakfast - WW yogurt(1), decaf coffee with creamer(2)
Snack - orange(1)
Lunch - WW potato entree(4), 94% ff kettle corn (2), SF jello (1)
Snack - mini rice cake drizzle (1)
Dinner - left overs: 3/4 whole wheat pasta(2.5) 3/4 cup sauce(2.5)garden salad with 1Tb lite dressing and cheese (2)

Your so on track that it would be unfair if you didn't. I agree with both Sweatpea and Hajini that if nothing on the scale falls into place for you that you should check your inches!!

Day 42

Thursday . . . . cleaning day . . ./sigh. After a pretty good day at work, I headed home to do the housework and had a little argument with hubby over his lack of help. I mean it's not like he does much of the big jobs like laundry, vaccuming, scrubbing toilets etc. . . I'm jsut asking him to clean up behind himself. He leaves clothes and towels in the bathroom, the hairdryer out, books/magazines on the floor and it makes me NUTZ! Anyway, I did allow myself a fatfree gelati treat (and counted the points) but brought it down from a regular size to a kid's size. :D

Breakfast - 1 WW yogurt(1), coffe with creamer (1)
Snack - jello w/ pinapple cup (2)
Lunch - garden salad(0), 1TB lite dressing(1), grapes (1), 100 cal pack cookies(2)

I'm feeling for ya Yarm on the spousal unit helping out.
My dh is the best at cleaning up major stuff when asked but constantly leaves a small trail of things behind him. Will take the lid off a yogurt cup and leave it on the counter. :doh:The trash is only 3 feet away for crying out loud! Or this one is classic........opens up a can of fruit or tuna and leaves the can opener (just a hand cranker) on the counter right above the drawer that it goes back into!!!!! And of course the lid on the counter when all he needs to do is turn 45* and there is the trash. SIGH
I guess all you really can do is laugh. I mean I can't complain to much he does clean the toilets!:beating:
 
Day 43

TGIF! Another motivated day. Got up and exercised early. Had a pretty good day at work. Had leftovers and got a side salad to go with it, instead of "going out" as we usually do on Fridays. My youngest was invited to a party in the evening, and knowing I had about 45 min to kill between then and getting home, I got on the NT for another 30 min routine. My first day gettin 2 sessions in! :jump: Stayed well within my points allowance know I'm on the right track for success.

Breakfast - hard boiled egg(2), 1/2 banana(1)
Snack - 1/2 banana(1)
Lunch - 2 LF tortillas(2), beef, peppers, onions(2),garden salad w/ lite dressing(3)

Day 44

Well, I don't get it. I weighted in today for the Halloween challenge and lose a whopping 0.4 lbs?! As I have already posted on the Halloween thread, I'm pretty mad, but in no way gonna let this stupid scale stop me from my goal. It could a number of factors, but I know it was not due to unhealthy eating, nor lack of exercise, or lack of water because those things were on target!

Anyway the day went well, and I even allowed myself a small piece of cake for my youngest's 7th birthday. I did only drink about 1/2 of my water but that was attributed to the fact that I could have my diet soda as that weeks challenge is over.

2 Positive things:
-Now that I'm in the 174 range, I move a step down in points for Weightwatchers. I now should eat 22 points, not 24.
-I took my measurements and lost 1/2 inch in my arms and waist, and lost 1/4 inche in hips.

Breakfast - small banana(1), ww yogurt(1), 2 munchkins(3)
Snack - 1/2 bagel(3)
Lunch - 2 stuffed shells(3)
Snack - popcorn(2),rice cake drizzle(1)

Day 45 (Sunday)

Well, today I start with my new points level of 22. My mood was pretty good, but I feel I'm more reliable with my choices when I'm at work, rather than at home with the kids. SO my choices, and time of eating could have been better- but I did count every single point!
In the afternoon, we took the youngest to pick out her birthday present- a new bike. Maybe for my birthday I too can get a bike and ride with the girls!
After we got home we ate dinner and we took a LONG walk, where we stopped for gelati and ate it on the walk back home.

Breakfast - 1/2 cup milk(1), 1/2 bagel(3)
Snack - mini rice drizzle(1)
Lunch-none
