Yarm's No More Excuses!

Day 20(week3,day6)

So it's TGIF and I'm determined to have a loss on the scale at weigh in on Sat so I don't let my Halloween Challenge Teammates down. Again, first thing in the Am, I knock out my exercise on the NT 30+ minutes. I pack my water bottle with me and head to work in a focused state of mind. I knew it was likely we(the girls n' me at the office) would go out to eat, and I told myself eat what you want . . IN MODERATION and adjust your dinner meal appropriately, which is exactly what I did.

Breakfast - mini whole wheat bagel w/ PB
Lunch - ONE slice white pizza, hand full french fries
Snack - fat free gelati
Dinner - peas & carrots, sampling of roasted potatoes
Dessert - sf jello and lite cool whip

Friday stats-
Eating :cool:
Exercise :D
Water :D
Multivitamin :)
Attitude :D

My personal diet is on a Sun- Sat schedule, but because I'm participating in the Halloween Challenge, I have been weighing in on Sat. Happy to report a loss of 1.6lbs! which was very rewarding considering the worry I felt when I stepped on the scale a few days ago and it reflected a gain!

Awesome that we lost the same amount of weight this week!!! And my weight was up on the same day as yours and I was thinking no loss for this week too... GEE are you sure we are not like secret twins or something ??? :jump:

Day21(week3, day7)

So it's weigh in day for the Challenge, and as mentioned in the previous post, it was a happy surprise at a loss of 1.6lbs. I headed to work early, as Saturday's we start at 8am. The boss brought in Dunkin Donuts and I was proud to say I only ate 1/2 of a bagel and put a little p.b. on it. After 1 cup of coffee, I started on my water. Picked up pizza for lunch for the family, but I opted to have a garden salad instead, knowing we would be heading to the in-laws for a nephew's bday party and they always have so much food there. I did ok for the meal there, but did dip into my "weekly points allowance", but am learning NOT to feel guilty about doing that- that is what they are there for. Besides, it's probably better to get in the extra calories early in the week and burn them off, than to consume them closer to weigh in.

Weekly Goal 3: get 2 servings dairy in everyday - failed 8( got in some dairy most days, but only 2 days did I get both servings in)
Weekly Goal 4: ACCURATELY measure/portion every morsel before you eat it

The in-laws are planning to do a b.day party tonight for me, i hope to be good also.

Day 33(week 4, day 1)

Wow, I can't believe I have been "doing this" for 3 straight weeks. This has been the longest I have been motivated when tryin to lose weight. I think the challenge is a big help, as it keeps a positive focus on what I should be doing, instead of a feeling of denial for foods, or the "chore" of exercise. I'm feeling like it is becoming a habit, and if true is GREAT news! While I can't say I get up and look forward to having to exercise, I don't loathe it either. After dinner, I took the dog and kids for a 30 min brisk walk. I'm looking forward to this saturday when I can total up the weight loss for Month #1.

Breakfast - mini whole wheat bagel w/ lite cream cheese, 1 cup 1% milk
Lunch(snack) - banana, popcorn, rice cake
Dinner - boneless pork chop, baked potato w/ ts butter lite sour cream, carrots, SF pudding
Dessert - Slim-a-Bear

Day 34(week4,day2)

Wow, was I tired today. I guess it's all this exercise. After a healthy breakfast, I walked the youngest to school (w/dog) then threw in a load of laundry. After which, I fell asleep. I was a little hungry, so grabbed a snack and got on the NT for 30+ minutes. The rest of the day was healthy choices, but found myself "snitching" bites of mac n cheese- I didnt want to put it on my plate and count the points, so I eat 2-3 bites out of the pot- which was dumb, and I ended up counting the points anyway(which was the good part).

I think my immediate goal with exercise is get on the NT for 30 min Mon-Fri, and eventually up the minutes. As it is now, I dont hop off when the timer goes off after 30 min, but stay on till the song I am listening to ends. I'm also considering a few rewards for myself- like signing up for Karate once a reach a certain goal . . and mini goal rewards will be a minicure/pedicure.

Lunch - turkey and cheese on whole wheat, 1 serving of Sun Chips
Snack - apple w/ P.B.

Well, I better post it now while I have the courage.

The following picture is a picture(1 of many) I took of myself a few weeks ago. It's not great but gives you some idea of the areas I need to work on:
-my boobs are too big
-I have back fat (eww I hate how that looks on me)
-my thighs are a bit big

Oh, the other shot is one of my face (with my sister at the Mongonolian Grill place we went to lunch.(im the one in the peach shirt)

It is great to take the "before" pictures and compare the progress. I did not know how important it was until I found one of my old pictures from 2005 at my highest weight, then scanned it and put it side-by-side with my current (in progress) pictures!!!! WOW. You will see it too. It is more important than the evil scale... LOL. Also, do you take inch measurements, tighs, hips, waist etc? Those are good indicators too.
I am thinking of posting a new picture also, i lost 10 lbs since the last picture.
Keep up the good vibe in here, you are doing awesome!!

I don't think your boobs are too big - and I can't see your thighs - but I've seen worse on before pics (Like my own!) You will be a goddess soon!
 
Day 35(week 4,day 3)

Today was a pretty good day. I find myself falling into a routine- a much healthier routine! I don't seem to be so focused on food - not in a way where I feel I have cravings, or being denied anything. Exercise is also coming easier as well. I took 2 walks PLUS got on the NT for 30 minutes. I hope to maintain this focus from here on out!

Breakfast - rasisin bran, 1% milk
Lunch - tukey & cheese on whole wheat, bran crackers, cantelope
Snack - popcorn
Dinner - chicken, steamed rice, broccoli
Snack - slim-a-bear

Tuesday stats-

You are doing so good. Good for you that everything is starting to feel like a normal thing...ex..eating healthier and exercising daily.
Before you know it your journey to your goal will be done and you will only have to maintain.
Keep up all the hard work!!!!

I think your very pretty and I also thought your before pic didn't look so bad. We are always harder on ourselves! Kudos to you for being brave enough to post it.

Day 36(week 4,day 4)

Hmm . . I'm typing in the day, week info above and somehow, I'm not sure that adds up :rofl:! Guess I'll review the numbers and see if a correction needs to be made.

Had a pretty good day again Wed. As is my NEW routine, I got up early and got my 30 min done on the NT. I ate healthy and drank my water. I think its weird how some of my clothes seem to be a little looser, but others seem about the same :confused:. Oh well, I guess we will see on sat what the scale says, tho I'm not stressing either way.

Breakfast - cheerios, 1% milk, 1/2 banana
Snack - rice cake mini's
Lunch - WW potatoe entree, SF pudding
Snack - apple w/ p.b.
Dinner - 2 FF hot dogs, 1 lite roll, baked french fries, peas & carrots
Snack - none (wasnt hungry/craving- go figure!)

Day 37

Another fantastic day. I'm so happy and surprised that my attitude has been so positive- I really sense a change in my thinking about my weight, my health. I'm not obscessed with my weight- but instead view it as a commitment each day, to do the best I can . . which will result in a healthy new me.
Got up and got my exercise in on the ski machine. Had a light breakfast and a regular lunch. Went home and as every thursday, I cleaned the house. I was too tired for dessert- 2nd night in a row! I'm able now to sense the difference between being hungry and just wanting something to have something. WOO HOO

Breakfast - WW yogurt, cantelope,
Lunch - WW quesadilla, 94% ff light popcorn, oreo thins
Snack - SF jello, rice cake
Dinner - garden salad, 2 small slices cheese pizza

Good for you girl!!! I am sensing a strong determination over here, and you will succeed!!! Sounds like you are on the right way to get to the healthier you!!!
You have a great attitude and you are sticking with your plan!! Exercises are going great and eating is going great!!
Now I just can't wait till tomorrow's weigh in!! I bet you can't either!!!
