Howdy from Arkansas... :waving:

I'm by no means new to the weight-loss "struggle!"

I have been battling the bulge for 17 years now.
Now at 190.0 lbs.
I'm 5'9 ~ 37 years old.

I was a tiny, healthy little thing growing up.
My mom always had to take me to special clothing shops for my pants/jeans/ and so on bc I was so skinny.

Once a teenager, I stayed around 110-115 lbs. (healthy) and wore extra small tops and size 0 jeans. (still had to go to special shops for those back then.) Could eat like a horse and never gain an ounce. :biggrinjester:

That all changed when I had my son. LOL
(he just turned 17)

Came out of the hospital wearing a size 11.

That was a huge adjustment for me. I had lived my whole life as a tiny, skinny person and now I had to stay in maternity clothes bc my entire closet full of stuff was donated to Good Will.

My first ever weight loss journey begun and of course I was on the yo-yo diet war roller coaster for many years until I educated myself properly.
(re: fad diets).

I had a couple of years at goal.. size 9/10 ~ 146 lbs.
THEN, a new Network Aired.. Dare I say, FOOD NETWORK...

>>>Fast Foward>>> To Now...

Each year I age it just gets harder and harder to get the scale to move and then I give in and give up!

I want this cycle of hell to STOP!

2 Years ago I got sooo close to goal as I was 170.0 ...Only had a little bit longer to go..
(started at 197.6)

I became very ill with bronchitis and it turned into pneumonia.

Messed up my groove with eatin' healthy and daily exercise.
Once well, couldn't seem to get back in the swing of things. :toetap05:

So, this is my story.....

Would like to have a new, bright, exciting, story to share and put the nagging old one to rest! :hurray:

~Starting Info.~

190.0 lbs.

Waist: 37 1/2 in. :svengo:

Size 16 Jeans

Depending on material/style: Size 1X to 2X Top

My weight is all carried in mid-section, tummy, hips, and inner thighs.

:leaving:

I'm doing the Jillian Protein (Whey) Shakes as a "meal replacement." So, I mix the powder in blender with skim milk, fresh strawberries, ice, and a light sprinkle of splenda. I like the taste and it's so much more filling than slim fast (which I have done twice in the past.)

Shakes are for breakfast/lunch.

Snacks include all 100 cal healthy options and some are just a tiny bit over 100.

Others are 90 cals.

3 snack's a day.

I also have fruit. (which can be used as 1 of the three)

Dinner will be PORTION control. (Healthy and Planned Well.)

I have changed all food/fridge/pantry items to 0-fat, low fat, reduced cal, and so on.

So, here we go.. :)

Weigh-In # 1 will be on this Friday.

Exercise:

I'm about to start a 6 week challenge from Prevention the April Issue.

I have to go get new walkin' shoes ( I have foot spurs in both my heels which causes me a lot of issues) and then place my support pads from doc in them.

I also need a stability ball.

The challenge is 6 days a week with brisk walking, hill walking, and a mixture of indoor exercises with and w/o stability ball.

The women that participated lost either 10, 15, 20 lbs. at the end of challenge. ;) I hope to lose 20.. lol

About Me...

Little bit more about myself..

My hubby and I met when I was about to turn 18 and he had just turned 20.

We instantly hit it off and dated for 2 1/2 yrs. before we married.

We got married June 18th - 1993

*Still Counting* after all these years! :hurray:

Our son Cory will graduate high school next year and we are "feeling old." :willy_nilly: HeeHee.

We do look forward to MORE "alone: time though! :D

(Son will head to college after graduation)

My baby girl ZuZu (zoozoo) is 5 years old and we've had her since she was 6 wks old. She's a mini American Eskimo (her pic is in my album here)

She is treated like my human baby! HeeHee ~ Spoiled rotten and a momma's girl! My first pet and my word I didn't know you could have so much love and compassion for a pet?!

My family and I are Born & Raised Texan's (Dallas County area) and we moved to North East Arkansas on July 26th, 2010.

My hubby lost his job of 18 1/2 years in Dallas when the printing company closed their doors.
(the week b4 C-Mas in "09" I might add!)

Long story short...After finding NO work or leads in TX (bc he was told he was too over-qualified), The same company in AR heard of his skills and called us to come take a look at the town and company. 1 week later he was hired and we made the out-of-state move!
(All our family is in TX, so this has been a little rough on us!)

We are 7 hrs. away from them now.

We are in Farmland/the Country now. It's really beautiful here.

We have our first ever house though! :hurray: The cost of living is so much better here than in TX. (we were always stuck in apts. in TX)

We are also only 20 mins. from the MO state line, and only 40 mins. from Memphis TN.

We are in a great location.
We haven't seen our family for 8 months now and we hope they can make a trip here soon, or we can go there.

Good Luck! And the food network is the most heavenly channel of all! I just love watching them lol but wow it makes me sooo hungry for delicious easy to make things!

Hi ya. ;)

I got on a horrible Paula Deen kick..

Lots of butter, sour cream, and bacon grease! hahahahaha!

Packs on the pounds real nice. :ack2:

I adore the Neely's and since the move we are close to them now! Can't wait to visit their BBQ Joint and Gift Shop. lol

I'm also a huge fan of Bobby Flay and many others.

Gettin' ready for my exercise to begin. :hurray:

Gettin' my new walking shoes and stability ball today.

I'm sure when I weigh in tomorrow I will either have a 1-2 lb loss, or be the same. (started the healthy eatin' plan last week, but no exercise as of yet.)

Good luck on the scale! I feel like eating is the biggest key to losing weight but exercising makes everything look great with clothes off.. and both are important lol :)

Stacy - good luck with kicking those lbs to the curb for good! We'll be here rooting you on.

Congrats on your first house - very exciting. And Yay for the 'Still counting after all these years'!

~Thanks Tally & Jennifer. :)

Weigh-In #1 - I lost 2.2 lbs

I will be takin' measurements every 2 weeks, so Next weigh in we'll see if any results are in from those.

EXERCISE Begins Tomorrow As I Start the 6 Week Challenge.

Congratulations about the weight loss! It's so encouraging to see changes right away when you are starting out :) Good luck on the exercise! Hope you break in your new shoes quickly.

Me too Tally!

I have terrible foot spurs, so I have to get me special shoes or as Forest Gump would call them, *Magic Shoes* :biggrinjester:

Plus, I have to put the custom pads in them from doc.

My poor feet are always killing me, but I have to be active... Almost time for another cortisone shot and then I'll get some relief for a few months.

Hi Stacy. I had a friend like you who was slim up until she got pregnant. She got diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Have you been tested for diabetes. There was an interesting thing on the radio the other day about vitamin D and diabetes. About 50% of the women tested had low vitamin D. This comes from the sunshine. I think it was considered a causative factor.

Anything that interferes with exercise is really miserable. Have you had the spurs treated. I mean can they be removed? I am not too sure what they are but if they can't be heeled, could you try exercise such as cycling or swimming that doesn't aggravate them?

My neighbour has just been diagnosed as pre-diabetic. This means that they are insulin resistant. (a topic to read up in itself - i'm not gonna try explaining it here) She has put on quite a bit of weight in the last year or two she said and she can't shift it. She said her dietician has put her on a diet similar to what the cohen dieters are doing. Its low in the carbohydrates and higher in lean proteins. I was reading the cohen dieters pages the other day.

I don't know if any of that is news to you or helpful but it might be worth checking out.

People who are thick around the waist are more inclined to this sort of problem i believe.

TY for all the advice/suggestions! :grouphug:

I haven't been tested. I will check that out at my next visit!

RE: my feet.. I will never have the surgery. They even tell you the success rate is very low.

I know two women that had it done at different times and 1 is on crutches (1 1/2 years after the surgery) and the other is in a wheel chair! ( 3 yrs. after surgery.)

Foot Spurs are so terrible!
