Hi all,

Good Morning. I've decided to start a diary in hopes to keep myself in touch with the reality of this new lifestyle I've chosen. I think it will hold me accountable if I have to come in and report what I eat daily.

Anyhow, I just finished up breakfast and here's what I had..............

Breakfast
Green food smoothie: 1oz of organice apple juice 15 cal, 1tbsp of flax oil 120 cal, 1 scoop of perfect food 35cal, and 2 medium/large frozen strawberries, 1 chunk of frozen mango & 1 of papaya cals ????.

A second 1oz of organic apple juice 15cal (I use it as a chaser after taking MSM powder, Boy is that stuff nasty!!!!)

2oz of strawberry soymilk 30cal
3/4 cup of Special K fruit & yogurt cereal 120cal
Adult Chewable multivitamin 10 cal
24 oz of H2O

total cals: 345 + whatever the frozen fruit was. I'm hoping not much.

I think I did pretty good this morning. I can burn some of that off while cleaning the entire house today. I'm so not looking forward to that, but I'm going to have a pamper day for myself tomorrow (do my nails, deep condition my hair, foot bath pedicure, facial....the works really) so I must clean today so that I can be at peace while doing this tomorrow.

I'm thinking hard on what I should have for lunch today, I think I'll keep it light with a PB&J sandwich....who knows!!!

Also going to make some cauliflower soup from a recipe I found at vegweb.com sometime ago. It's really good. I just don't know how many calories it is. The ingredients are very simple though so it couldn't be that much (I'm thinking  ) I use two heads of cauliflower, almost an entire bag of baby carrots sliced, and 1 & 1/2 white onion, water and maybe 2tbsp or so of vegan boullion by rapunzel.....Mmmm tasty!!

Well guys, I'm off to start my day of cleaning. Will check back when I've finished lunch probably...

Welcome to your diary.. nice to see you here... :)

Perfect food is pretty good, a little sweet and it's supposed to be good for you...

Hope you are having a great day...

That soup sounds pretty tasty - you should share the recipe in the recipes forum :)

Well done on the 6 lbs so far... most excellent

Hi, WilliamsB! Welcome! So good to have you with us!

Looks like you are starting off great! Yes, please share your soup recipe with us in the recipe thread. We always like to try tasty new things! :) Keep up the great work! See you around the forum.

Welcome Bonnie. Yes it is very good to begin a diary. That way we can all see how you are doing with your weight loss goals. There is tons (pun intended) of information on here and also comes with it is a whole lot of support. You will reach your goals. You can do it. :D

Have a great day!!!

Thanks guys for the support, this really is an awesome place to come and bare it all regarding weightloss. You guys will never know how lucky I feel to have found this site.

@maleficent, thanks. I ordered a scale and got it last week (tanita hd-351), when I hoped on it revealed that I was 6lbs less than I was when they weighed me at the hospital. I'm happy with that, I know there is so much more to come. I was actually reading your diary yesterday and boy I have to say you are a riot. You are very warm and welcoming. I appreciate that.

O.k. I am SUPPOSED to be cleaning.....:D

Bonnie

Took a break from cleaning to have lunch and here's what it was.....

Snack:
Popsicle Brand sugar-free popsicle 15cal

Lunch:
2tbsp Jif extra crunchy Peanut Butter 190cal
2 slices of sara lee heart healthy 100% classic whole wheat 140cal
1tbsp smuckers strawberry low sugar preserve 25cal
1 medium banana (looked on the web and found out it could be either 86cal or 108cal) I'll go with the lower ;) and say 86cal.
34oz's of H2O

total cals: 441

Put my soup on and its done, just letting it cool down before I put it away. I think I'm going to have a cup of that for Dinner and maybe one more snack and that will be it for the day. I don't think I'm going to quite make 1200 cals today....:( I know the soup is not going to be anywhere near 400 odd calories. Oh well, a girl can try.

Well, since I'm on a roll, I might as well get back to cleaning. I'm almost done...:D

Bonnie

Finally got done cleaning....whew!!! How happy am I about that.

Here's what I had for a snack and dinner......

Snack:
7 Chocolate Quakes by Quaker 60cal
24oz water

Dinner:
2cups of cauliflower soup (Guestimate 200cal)
32oz water

I had a slip up today and that was with cheetos twisted. My niece and younger cousins were over this weekend and they had their share of junk. Well they left some of it in the room they were playing in and I found it during cleaning and at first I put it in the living room to toss out. During one of my breaks from cleaning, I opened the bag and had 3 1/2 which equaled 80 cals. 7 would have equaled 160 so I didn't go there. I know that was bad, but I fell weak. I have since tossed them out so I don't have to worry about those anymore.

The good thing is, I've been drinking water all day (I've also been paying for that because I can't seem to stay out of the can :) ). I usually never get this much, but I've grabbed a water bottle with each thing that I've eaten today so I'm going to try to keep that up.

I would say this day has been good overall and my total cals (cheetos included) is 1126. Tomorrow is a new day and this is a learning process.

Until tomorrow!!!

Bonnie

Don't starve yourself calories wise... 1500-1800 should be a good start... remember you don't want to deprive yourself at all.... that's usually the reasons why diets fail..

Don't beat yourself up over the cheetos-- it was a small snack... no biggie... :)

Good for you for getting your place cleaned up.. now enjoy your day of pampering tomorrow :)

@maleficent

I've been trying to find ways to increase my caloric intake, but have been unsuccessful. I can try to eat an extra meal, but I don't want to eat after 6p so I don't know how that will workout. I feel greedy when I double portion sizes, but I may be on to something......I think I'll try this for next week.

Thanks for the intervention (I thought to myself that I may be taking in to little calories and I guess I was right)

I am very unhappy that I won't be able to have my day of pampering. I got a call from friends last night saying they wanted to come by and have lunch today. Their here visiting from Utah and I don't see them that often so I'm happy about that part. I guess I can postpone it, I can do it on Thursday (have to drive my mom to her doctors appt on Wednesday).

As for Breakfast this morning, I beefed up the calories a bit and here is what I had......

Breakfast:
1/2 cup of organic oatmeal 150cal
1/4 cup of dried cranberries 100cal
1/4 cup of raw sliced almonds 170cal
1oz organic apple juice to drink after taking MSM powder 15 cal
1 medium banana (they go bad so fast it seems, I just bought them green the other morning) 86cal
1 adult chewable multivitamin 10cal
24oz container of water

total cals:531

I know, it seems like a lot, but I need to increase anyways. I also stepped on the scale this morning before breakfast and according to the scale I've lost another 5lbs since last week, but I don't know how accurate that is, is that even possible? I was thinking it was a 5lb loss cause I hadn't eaten anything yet. I was suppose to weigh in next Monday, but I couldn't resist. Does anyone know how effective it is to weigh first thing in the morning?

Alright guys, I'll post again after lunch. Good luck today everyone!!!

Had an awesome visit with my friends. The only bad thing is they ordered lunch which was Giordano's Pizza. Well that actually wasn't the bad thing, it was the fact that they attempted to leave what was left over along with two canned cokes....I promptly ziplock bagged the leftover pizza and ever so happily bagged the two cokes up for them to take that with them. I'm glad I was able to escape that. I actually ate before they arrived because I kind of figured what food they were going to opt for, so here's what I had.......

Snack:
Popsicle (sugar free) 15cal

Lunch:
2 parmesan ranch chik'n patties by Morningstar 340 cal
1 cup of frozen cauliflower (cooked) 25cal
4 huge frozen broccoli Florets (cooked) 60cal
34oz water

Total cals: 440

Snack:
7 chocolate Quakes 60cal
34oz water

Dinner:
2 slices sara lee heart healthy bread 140cal
2Tbsp of Tuna (Guestimate!) 100 cal
24oz water

Total cals:300

Daily total: 1271 cals

That was much better than yesterday, I'm proud of me :D . Although i'm going through withdrawl right at this moment. I'm done eating for the day, but I'm having some strong thoughts of old habits. I can't give in, I'm just hoping that night falls soon so I can go to bed and forget about it. The good thing is that there is no damaging food in my place, but I'm hoping my addiction doesn't overtake me and I then go out for something. I hope I don't have to come in here and make a confession in the morning. So far I'm beating the craving, I just hope I can do that til bed time. Anyhow, that's it for me today.

Keep up the great work! You have stronger willpower than I do. I keep on pigging out and it's a bit difficult for me to stay in the 1200 range.

But just out of curiousity...:p...Do you mind telling me the Brand name of the sugar-free popsicles that you have? I mean, it has less calories than my apples.

Hi Bonnie,

by the sounds of it, you are doing great!

I've heard that weighing yourself in the morning is the most accurate time to weight! 5 lbs is awesome and it is possible!!!!

I am also dealing with the snack fairy right now. She doesn't want to get lost.

Oh yea...that is awesome that you ate before your friends came and managed to get them to take the leftovers!!!!!!!! Good job. That is something to be very proud of! *applauds*

Here are some pics I just took of them, but they are made by popsicle. Just go to this link to see em'

They are some tasty treats with just a bit of calories. You should be able to view the nutritional stuff on the side as well.

Thanks for the *applauds*
I'm glad you touched on the weigh in question. I want to be extremely happy about that loss, but don't want to fool myself into what is not real so that's why I questioned it. The scale I purchased came with some pretty awesome reviews over at amazon.com and for $70 bucks, I hope it's pretty accurate. I actually like it, o.k. I love it!!

Like Mal says, keep smacking the snack fairy away. LOL @ you for saying "she won't get lost" I know just what you mean, mine bothered me until I went to sleep on her. I'm hoping today will be better. Good luck today!

Bonnie

As long as you are weighing yourself at the same time, in the same place, in the same clothes (or lack of) on a regular basis (Like every Friday as part of the Friday scale Day club :D ) You will see the results.. the number on another scale but if you used that scale the numbers would also go down...) you know you are losing based on your scale.. and that's what matters. My own scale, I notice the weight can change if I move the scale so I keep it in the same spot for accuracy...

Hey Guys,

I didn't start off too hot this morning. I went to the post office, got gas, stopped by Target and got home just now. It's almost time for lunch so there was really no breakfast for me. I did however have a diet pepsi while waiting in line at Target and I had a piece of extra cool green apple gum that I had in my bag so I'm guessing that was my breakfast. I'll do better for lunch.

I went to Target this morning with thoughts of a conversation my friend from alabama and I had on the phone this past weekend. She's two weeks from having her baby and getting married in February of 2007 and we were talking about how she's going to drop some pounds before she ties the knot. Anyhow, since I live only four blocks from the lake she was saying how lucky I was to be able to hit the walking trail, well, she was right so I went out and got some 1lb weights that you carry in your hand while walking. They are utterly cute, I just wish they had better colors and were 2lbs each. The only other ones they had were 2 1/2lbers and I didn't like the style of those.

I haven't incorporated exercise into my new lifestyle yet. Although I have gotten the membership at bally's, I still haven't gone (well ever since I had the free training session with the personal trainer that you get when you first sign up) I don't quite feel like I'm ready for bally's, I haven't learned to look away from those who I feel will be looking at me. I have to get over that I know. The trainer was great, but her prices were insane. I will take what bit of knowledge she gave me and use that until I pick up a bit more. I'm not worried that I don't know how to do it, I just need to get around TO doing it. Well, I said all that to say that this weekend, I will start to walk and the next week I will attempt to step into bally's. My contract isn't going away so I must use this membership. It's imperative!! I'll digress for now and will see you all back here after, I've had lunch.

Bonnie,

your welcome for the aplauds, you deserved them.

My snack fairy also stayed around until I fell asleep too, but I resisted her!

I totally know how you feel about the gym. I cannot get myself to go to mine (at my university included in my tution fees) because I never see any bigger people. These people all look like athletes and I find myself too self consious (sp??) to actually go workout next to them.

For now I'm trying to just go for walks in the park near me until I don't get winded from just walking. :) I should also go buy some weights for walking too. I have to get used to that because my backpack in september is going to be around 15 lbs on a good day.

I hope the rest of your day goes really awesome!
