Will drywall work lead to overtraining?

I am about to start drywalling full time and that is alot of lifting and manual labor. Will this affect my lifts whne I get off work? Should I make my training a little less as intense to keep from overtraining, or will I be fine and just tough it out.

If I were you I would eliminate supersets and possibly burnout sets if you are going to start a NEW physically engaging job. If your body were used to the abuse I would say not to worry too much, but since it will introduce new stress, YES your body could become over worked. If you are in a state of healing and you are pulling around slabs of drywall etc, you might not be getting as solid rest as before.
See how it goes, consider removing supersets and burnouts.

If you've never hung sheet rock before, plan to take a week or two off the lifting when you first start. Depending on how big the sheets are and where you're hanging them (ceiling or wall) you won't need to lift any weights after a full day.

I'm jealous, hanging rock is about the most fun I've ever had on a job. I wish I could do it full time. Have fun.

I would reduce the intensity the first few weeks that you start fulltime work using rep ranges in the 8-15reps/set.

Your body will become adapt to the lifting after a month or two. At first - It might lead to over training, but your body will soon adapt, and get used to it.

No i am a very good drywall hanger and my dad is the owner of the company. Its all good and I am pretty tired at the end of the day but i still lift with the same intensity.BTW 5/8' drywall on 20 foot valted ceilings is no fun.

its a great workout by itself. you seen the lats on some of those rockers witha just a semi clean diet? I hung alot of rock in Emory university in ATL. and used to come home sore as hell every nite. have fun!!!
