When i used to powerlift. Big 16 year old- pics

When i was 16 i started powerlifting.
My best lifts were as follow: Military press(seated) 225 for 2 reps
Deadlift: 350 for 3 reps
Squat 315 for 4 reps
Barbell curls: 120 for one rep.
Here are the pics:

I barely trained my calves and they were big.

I filled out a size LArge shirt.

Fonrt biceps filled the large shirt. Approx 16 inches.

I was known for my massive traps:

I don't look like this anymore. I was getting too big , so i stopped.

Well, i just wanted to share that.
I completely look different now. WAY Better looking, since i am not bloated from eating so much or tanned as hell.

I am doing a 3 month transformation so check out my blog daily.

Sh1t man you was quite a beast ;)

Is that you on your avatar? If so man, your physique looks a LOT different. How old are you now?

Haha dude you were huge.

How tall/heavy were you?

5'6
200 or more pounds.
That's why i stopped, people thought i was on steroids .lol.
And i was getting too big for my size.

The doctor said by now i was suppose to be 5'8 or more, but because i lifted too heavy and didn't drink milk - i may have delayed my growth :(
He says i have to wait until 21 to see if i grow more.
3 years away, hopfully i do grow taller.

that is a big-ass 16 year old!!

That doc sounds a little goofy. Lifting too heavy shouldn't stunt your growth except maybe in extreme cases if you were to damage growth plates.

Yeah, that's what i thought(no offense to the doctor)
he kept saying that "bodybuilding is a bad thing for teens"
and kept claiming how "it's not even a sport, just a narcississtic thing meatheads do".
I was a little offended mind you, but he mixed in bodybuilding with powerlifting- typical, when people don't know the difference.

I told him it may be the milk and calcium i never intake, he agreed.
So he told me to take calcium pills for 3 years until 21 to "hopefully reach your real height those stupid weights delayed"

hahaha god, i love my doctor...but i don't know what he has against weightlifting?

In rolling together powerlifting and bodybuilding he showed how ignorant he is on both subjects. While I'm sure he's knowledgeable about drug therapies etc, many doctors know nothing about fitness, weightlifting etc. and they believe things the general public believed 40 years ago.

Maybe you are just not meant to be very tall...worse tragedies have happened:)

Short limbs can be an advantage in powerlifting.

How tall are your parents/relatives?

My dad is 5'8
My mom is 5'5
My bro is 5'8
And my uncle is 5'11
My bro says he grew the last inches after turning 19, claims we are "late bloomers"

So you're 18 and you're only 2 inches shorter than your dad and brother. It sounds like you're likely to be about the same height as them(you basically already are).

If you want to be a power lifter, go for it. If you'd rather have a more slender physique, go for it....but don't do it because someone told you powerlifting is bad for you.

lol, next time ask for some references to the whole stunting growth thing, see if he finds something after 1960 :p

Anyways, have you stopped lifting? you looked like you had some good potential. By getting "too big" did you mean fat wise or muscle wise?

I meant muscle wise.
My neck was getting f-ing HUGE:eek2:, my traps literally looked like balls erecting from my deltoids whenever i would wore shirts. Teachers always thought i took steroids :(
and i just couldn't picture myself getting bigger , it seemed gross....lol.:yelrotflmao:

Also, don't you get annoyed when they keep insisting you are on steroids?
I mean, you can take it as a compliment...sure.
But jesus christ, sometimes i felt like cracking their face.

lol.

If you were tired of getting bigger why didn't you try to bodybuild, and cut the fat?

You had the muscle, and if you cut down a bit you'd been ripped.

don't feel bad, my doctor told me the if you go parallel on squat your knees and back will break (only a slight exaggeration) and another said that weightlifting is a bad form of exercise and cardio is better.

badass pics though
